Following his meeting with the U-S secretary of state, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a deal with Iran would be QUOTE a very bad deal.
Without mentioning any names, the Israeli prime minister said some regional countries have the same view as Israel about the Geneva nuclear talks. In response to Netanyahu, a White House spokesman said it is premature to criticize a deal since no agreement with Iran has been made yet. U-S President Barack Obama telephoned Netanyahu to discuss the Geneva talks on Iran\'s nuclear program. The White House says the president gave the Israeli prime minister an update on the nuclear negotiations.

A group of lawmakers in the US have introduced legislation that would finally bring to an end Washington\'s authorization to wage war in Iraq.
The introduced bill has been led by Republican Senator Rand Paul. He says that US President Obama declared the war in Iraq over two years ago. Yet, it\'s necessary to bring the war to an official and legal end. Although Barack Obama has declared the war over, a loophole in the law green-lighting the March 2003 invasion allows for future U-S presidents to send troops back to Iraq. In 2003, the US attacked Iraq under the pretext that the regime of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction. WMDs were never found in the country and the war killed hundreds of thousands of people.

An Al-Qaeda-linked group has issued a threat to Hezbollah, saying it would continue its attacks against the Lebanese resistance movement.
In a statement posted on the Internet, the group, known as the Al-Nusra Front in Lebanon, says -- Hezbollah and its bases are legitimate targets. The statement comes just three days after the group claimed responsibility for a car bombing in Beirut\'s southern suburbs that killed four people. That was the sixth in a string of terrorist attacks in Lebanon in recent months. Another al-Qaeda-linked outfit, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, carried out a twin bombing in front of the Iranian Embassy in Beirut in November. The attacks claimed the lives of 23 people -- including an Iranian diplomat.

Perhaps it would be hard for any country with easy access to abundant oil and gas resources, to adapt itself with a parsimonious pattern of energy consumption. This is what is happening in Iran. In fact the country sees no alternative but to move towards clean renewable energy, at a time when most of its large cities are struggling with environmental pollution.
This is the sixth year that companies from Iran and a number of foreign countries gather in the renewable energy exhibition to display their latest achievements based on clean and efficient energy. The main objective of the event is to promote the use of energy from non fossil fuel resources such as solar panels, wind turbines and geothermal heat. Some experts believe that a considerable shift from oil and gas to clean alternative substitutes is far from reach in a short time period.
