An Iraqi lawmaker has said that the US is trying to re-instate the Ba'ath Party of the deposed and now executed Iraqi Dictator Saddam Hussein. He says that the visit by Jo Biden the US Vice President to Iraq in the last few days and their lobbying to allow the 500 ex-Ba'athists to be allowed to stand in the country's upcoming elections is evidence of this strategy by Washington. Egyptians accuse US of trying to destabilize country
As the June 30th wave of protests took over Egypt, so did anti-American sentiments. The opponents of ousted President Mohamed Morsi, who took to the streets, saw the Muslim Brotherhood\'s ruling as one backed by the American Government. As the anti-Morsi protests grew bigger, and the army announced that it was removing the president from his position, the carefully-worded American statements regarding the situation in Egypt sounded very cautious. Washington\'s move angered Egyptian protesters from both the anti- and pro-Morsi camps even further. Each camp blamed the U-S of backing the other.

The spillover of the Syrian crisis has claimed more lives in the flashpoint northern Lebanese city of Tripoli.
Ten people, including a woman, have been killed in clashes between supporters and opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad over the weekend. At least 70 people have also been wounded. Our Beirut correspondent Ali Rizk sees the latest incidents as part of a larger picture. He says Saudi Arabia is losing its sphere of influence compared to regional players, and is therefore trying to regain its power by resorting to violence by proxy.

Tehran says the efforts of the countries trying to implement an Iranophobia project are falling flat, and those who are trying to present a bad image of Iran to attain their illegitimate goals are really worried now after the nuclear deal.
In an interview on Iranian television, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the world needs to take a more realistic view of Iran and understand that it is not seeking nuclear weapons. He added that the only thing that Iranians want is respect. Zarif said Iranians will never tolerate receiving orders from others and will never let others decide for them. Zarif also noted that the people of Iran cannot accept that the Israeli regime, which itself possesses nuclear weapons, calls itself the standard-bearer of the non-proliferation campaign.
