[04 June 2012] 'Pakistan under pressure to give into US demand' - English Washington has been using drones in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia and claims that it is targeting militants, but civilians are the main victims of the attacks. Figures show that the American drone strikes killed at least 212 people in Yemen and Pakistan in the month of May. The aerial attacks were initiated by former US President George W. Bush but have escalated under President Barack Obama. Press TV has conducted an interview with Naveed Ahmad, defense and diplomacy analyst from Islamabad, to further discuss the issue.

Iraqi prime minister Nuri al-Maliki warns that his country is facing QUOTE \"a war of genocide\" which is targeting all of its components. Maliki blamed al-Qaeda for a wave of unrest that has gripped Iraq for the past months. He said attacks by the terrorist group has killed Iraqi citizens and destroyed their houses. However, he warned, that a front formed of different components will confront the terrorists. Comments by the Iraqi prime minister came as over four dozen people were killed in two days of attacks across the country. The attacks were the latest in violence that has surged in Iraq over the past year. The UN says the unrest has left more than five-thousand people dead between January and September alone.

The Iranian embassy in the Lebanese capital has become the target of terrorist attacks as the Syrian army makes more gains in fighting foreign-backed insurgents. Press TV\'s correspondent Ali Rizk in Beirut has discussed these developments with Ahmad Moussali, a Professor of Islamic Studies at the American University of Beirut.

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has said that the bomb blasts targeting the Iranian Embassy in Beirut were carried out by militants linked to al-Qaeda. Nabih Berri offered his condolences to the Iranian nation and noted that all Lebanese groups have condemned the terror attack. In regard to Iran\'s nuclear deal with the P-five-plus-one, Berri said that Tehran achieved a nuclear victory through prudence. He made the remarks in a joint press conference with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in Tehran. Larijani said he had discussed bilateral ties and sensitive regional developments with his Lebanese counterpart. He also stressed that Iran can establish strong relations in the region.

At least seven people were killed across Pakistan in attacks targeting the Shia community.

Pakistan Army launched its offensive against Pro-Taliban militants targeting their hideouts in the troubled North Waziristan tribal areas. The operation that started on December 18th targeted Pro-Taliban militant hideouts in Mir Ali, resulting in death of at least 70 people. The tribal locals say, all killed, were civilians. The military attack on the tribal areas was followed by a drone attack on Wednesday in North Waziristan, killing at least 3 suspected militants.

The Israeli military has launched three airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, targeting the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the besieged Palestinian territory. Palestinian officials say three explosions were heard in the territory. Rescue teams and ambulances have rushed to the areas. At least 8 Palestinians have been injured in southern Gaza town of Rafah. Two Palestinians have also been injured in the north. Tel Aviv claims the air strikes were carried out in response to a rocket fired from Gaza. The Israeli military often targets Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which remains cut off from the outside world by a crippling Israeli blockade.

What we fear is that those murderers drag you to uncalculated reactions which would lead to sedition and the destruction of the country…\\\\\\\" \\\\\\\"(Those killers) neither have a nation nor a religion, and they are not Sunnis. They killed Sunnis even more than they killed Shiites. They seek to create a fight between the Lebanese and the (Palestinian refugee) camps. In Iraq, there is clear evidence about the western, regional, and Israeli intelligences operating the murderers there,\\\\\\\" he added. In conclusion, Sayyed Nasrallah called on his people to \\\\\\\"stay patient and send a clear message that exploding and killing will not affect our morale, and it will not throw us in the trap of sedition. We have never killed a captive, while you prosecute captives in daylight.
