Israeli forces kill two Palestinians In another blow to the stalemated Middle East talks, Israeli forces have shelled the Gaza Strip, killing two Palestinians and injuring four others. Hamas officials said an Israeli navy boat shelled an area north of Gaza City early on Sunday, the Associated Press reported. Palestinian medical sources have confirmed the deaths, adding that four other Palestinians were also injured in the Israeli attack. The incident comes as US-brokered talks between the Palestinian Authority and Israel failed to resolve their past disputes. In another attack, a booby-trapped car went off near an army checkpoint at the entrance of the Dummar residential area in Damascus. Human Rights Watch says Bahraini security forces have often used disproportionate amounts of tear gas in their crackdown on anti-regime protests. The rights group cites a document released by a Bahrain rights watch which says the Interior Ministry issued a tender back in June for supplies of one-point-six million tear gas canisters and 145000 stun grenades.
