[05 June 2012] Clashes continue in Northern Lebanon - English A day of mourning in the Northern Lebanese city of Tripoli following clashes described as the deadliest in decades. 15 people killed and tens wounded after rival pro and anti Syrian Lebanese groups faced off for the second time in less than a month. Despite a cautious calm following two days of warfare, life was far from normal in the neighborhoods of Jabal Mohsen and Bab -Al-Tabaneh. Most shops remain closed and tensions remain high between the Allawite pro-Syrian and Sunni anti-Syrian neighborhoods. With each side blaming the other for instigating the violence, sectarianism has reached its peak and hence the worse is probably yet to come.

The Palestinian Exile - also known as Al Nakba - Arabic for - The Catastrophe- -refers to the ethnic cleansing of native Palestinian peoples all during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. From December 1947 until November 1948 Zionist forces - namely the Irgun - Lehi - Haganah terrorist gangs - expelled approximately 750 000 indigenous Palestinians --almost two third of the population--from their homes. Hundreds of Palestinians were also murdered for refusing to leave their homes. The most notable massacre is the Deir Yassin Massacre in which an estimated 120 Palestinian civilians were brutally murdered by an Irgun-Lehi force. Other massacres include the ones at Sahila - 70-80 killed - Lod - 250 killed- and Abu Shusha - 70 killed -. About 40 other massacres were carried out by Zionist forces in just the summer of 1948. Not only did Zionist forces conduct massacres of Palestinian civilians - rape occured as well. According to Israeli historian Benny Morris - In Acre four soldiers raped a girl and murdered her and her father. In Jaffa soldiers of the Kiryati Brigade raped one girl and tried to rape several more. At Hunin which is in the Galilee two girls were raped and then murdered. There were one or two cases of rape at Tantura south of Haifa. There was one case of rape at Qula in the center of the country. At the village of Abu Shusha near Kibbutz Gezer - in the Ramle area - there were four female prisoners - one of whom was raped a number of times. And there were other cases. Usually more than one soldier was involved. Usually there were one or two Palestinian girls. In a large proportion of the cases the event ended with murder. Because neither the victims nor the rapists liked to report these events- we have to assume that the dozen cases of rape that were reported- which I found are not the whole story. They are just the tip of the iceberg.- during Al Nakba - Palestinians were murdered raped and ethnically cleansed from their villages. According to Israeli historian Ilan Pappe - In a matter of seven months 531 villages were destroyed and 11 urban neighborhoods emptied.- Palestinians were forced into were forced out of Palestine and into neighboring countries - i.e. Lebanon Syria and Jordan - where they lived in refugee camps. Many were also sent to camps in West Bank and Gaza Strip. Most Palestinian towns were demolished and taken by the newly established Israeli government to make room for new Jewish immigrants. Old Palestinian infrastructures as well as many ruins dating back from the Canaanites Romans Greeks Crusaders Arabs and Ottoman Turks were completely destroyed. This signified the end of historical Palestine and the birth of modern-day Israel. Al Nakba marked the beginning of the Palestinian refugee crisis. Al Nakba destroyed a thriving and diverse Palestinian society and scattered them into diaspora. According to the UNRWA - the number of registered Palestinian refugees today is approximately 4.5 million. These refugees are dispersed throughout the world - many of which are still living in poverty-stricken refugee camps. Today the situation keeps worsening and thousands die from malnutrition - contaminated water - or scarce medical supply. Israel has since refused to allow Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and has refused to pay them compensation as required by UN Resolution 194 which was passed on December 11 1948. Historically the Israeli government Israeli schools and Israeli historians have denied that Al Nakba has occured. However The New Historians - a loosely-defined group of Israeli historians - have recently published information recognizing the Al Nakba tragedy and controversial views of matters concerning Israel - particularly events concerning its birth in 1948. Much of their material comes from recently declassified Israeli government papers. Leading scholars in this school include Benny Morris - Ilan Pappe - Avi Shlaim - and Tom Segev. Many of their conclusions have been attacked by other scholars and Israeli historians - who continue deny Al Nakba even occured.

[07 Aug 2012] West plans to take over Middle East nations Analyst - English Syrian security forces have clashed with foreign-sponsored insurgents in several neighborhoods in the country's largest city of Aleppo as part of their efforts to clear the city of the armed groups. The Syrian government forces entered the al-Sakhour area inside Aleppo and arrested between 200 and 250 insurgents, 70 of whom are believed to be foreigners. Meanwhile, the Syrian armed gangs attacked a traffic police station in central Aleppo on Tuesday and opened fire on the Syrian police forces, leading to casualties. The foreign-backed insurgents receive arms and support from several Western and regional states, including Saudi Arabia. Many people, including security forces, have been killed in the unrest in Syria that began in March 2011. This is while the United Nations has pulled its observers out of Aleppo due to, what it called, the worsening situation in the city. Almost 20 UN observers returned to the mission's headquarters in Damascus. Damascus says, "outlaws, saboteurs, and insurgents" are behind the unrest in the country, while the opposition accuses the security forces of killing the protesters. The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the armed insurgents are foreign nationals. Press TV has conducted an interview with Dan Dicks, founder of Press for Truth, from Toronto, to further discuss the issue.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has confirmed the covert efforts of some foreign countries to change the political system of Afghanistan. Karzai has not named any specific country, but he did mention the kind of system those countries are looking for. His comments drew mixed reactions here. People in the north support a federal government. Their neighborhoods are rich with oil deposits---like these ones. You cannot find the likes of these oil deposits in the south. The northerners want to have a full grip on them. And it is also peace that they believe can come to their villages if a federal style of government is put in place. It is not the general view though. There are many who are strongly opposed to such a change in Afghanistan\'s political system. Fatana Ishaq Gailani is one of them. Sayyed NasrallahHis eminence started his speech with a greeting to the martyrs and wounded who fell only one day before the celebration in the terrorist blast which hit Ruwais street in the Southern Suburb of Beirut. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"I pray for the recovery of all the wounded from the large and dangerous terrorist attack, and I offer my condolences to the families of martyrs who fell, and to all those who were affected physically, mentally, spiritually, and on the material level yesterday. We highly appreciate, admire, and respect the patience of people and the citizens of Dahieh who held responsibility, and were conscious, disciplined, and civilized,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" he said. Our Beirut correspondent says clashes have erupted between supporters and opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the flashpoint city. The clashes have so far claimed one life and left nearly a dozen others injured. Residents in two of Tripoli\'s prominent neighborhoods Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh often engage in violent clashes over their political and religious affiliations.

Seventeen men have been wounded in Saturday\'s exchange of fire between residents of Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhoods of Tripoli. Clashes erupted after Lebanese Internal Security Forces summoned Ali Eid the leader of Alawite community for questioning over the twin blasts that hit the northern city in August. Eid denied receiving any order and refused to go to security headquarters.

It\'s been another deadly day in Iraq. Over thirty people have lost their lives in a fresh wave of bomb attacks in different parts of the country . The deadliest incidents happened in the capital Baghdad. At least 28 people lost their lives in a series of coordinated bomb attacks in several neighborhoods of Baghdad. Many other people were also injured in attacks. In a separate attack, gunmen killed four people in the restive city of Abu Ghraib near the capital Baghdad. At least one person has also died and several were wounded in a car bomb explosion in the southern city of Najaf. A spiraling wave of violence has killed thousands of Iraqis in recent months.

Two weeks after the Lebanese Army set up checkpoints throughout Tripoli, the Lebanese Internal Security Forces erected additional checkpoints and launched new patrols as part of the second phase of the government\'s security plan to restore security in rival Tripoli neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen.

Mortar shells have hit several residential areas in the Syrian city of Aleppo causing casualties. Our correspondent in Syria says at least five civilians were killed and some others injures in Slemania, Jamilia and Hamdania neighborhoods. There has been no claim of responsibility. But insurgents have in the past repeatedly targeted civilian areas with rockets to pressure the government. Syrian forces are engaged in fierce battles with militants across the country.

Iraqi forces are pressing on with their offensive against al-Qaeda-linked militants in the western province of Anbar. Troops-- backed by Sunni tribesmen-- continue their attack on insurgents who are in control of some neighborhoods in the city of Ramadi. Reports coming out of the area say a dozen security personnel have been injured by militant snipers during the operations. Over the past weeks, security forces have been fighting militants around Anbar\'s provincial capital, as well as and the nearby city of Fallujah. The militants are considered to be behind a surge of deadly violence across the country.

The number of Western extremists fighting alongside militants in Syria has gone up three times in the past two years. This comes as Western intelligence services are seeking cooperation from their Syrian counterparts to find out who these insurgents are. Most of them are said to be from poor neighborhoods in Western cities.

Reports coming out of Syria say fighting has erupted between Syrian forces and several militant groups in different neighborhoods there. Scores of insurgents have reportedly been killed during the clashes. The army has intensified its operations in recent months, managing to clear more areas from militants. Damascus blames them for the bloodshed which has gripped Syria since 20-11. It says they\'re being funded and armed by certain countries, mainly Saudi Arabia.
