Lebanon condemns Quran burning plan Lebanese President Michel Sleiman has condemned a US church\'s plan to burn copies of the Muslim holy book to mark the ninth anniversary of 9/11 attacks. Di Mesir, Tunisia dan Libya, para diktator bejat yang mempunyai ketergantungan sudah jatuh dari takhta kekuasaan dan di beberapa negara islam lain juga gelombang-gelombang kerusuhan rakyat mengancam istana-istana kekuatan dan kekayaan mereka. Lembaran baru sejarah umat ini telah terbuka, menyampaikan kebenaran tentang ayat-ayat terang ilahiah yang memberikan pelajaran-pelajaran yang sangat berharga. Kebenaran-kebenaran tersebut harus diimplementasikan dalam seluruh masalah bangsa-bangsa muslim. Pertama, kini di tengah bangsa-bangsa yang sudah puluhan tahun berada di bawah kekuasaan asing, hidup suatu generasi muda yang mengambil resiko dengan penuh percaya diri dalam menghadapi para adi daya dan kemudian mulai berani berusaha merubah situasi. Hal lain adalah bahwa meskipun adanya para penguasa sekular, dan usaha mereka untuk menghapuskan agama di Negara-negara tersebut, islam dengan pengaruhnya memberikan kecemerlangannya, seperti mata air segar dalam ucapan, perkataan dan perbuatan tumpukan-tumpukan manusia, telah mampu menjadi pembimbing hati dan lisan di Negara-negara tersebut, dan juga menghayati komunitas-komunitas dan perilaku mereka. Tempat-tempat adzan, mushala-mushala, takbir-takbir dan slogan-slogan islami adalah tanda terang dari kebenaran tersebut dan juga pemilihan umum akhir-akhir ini di Tunisia merupakan argumentasi sekaligus jawaban terhadap tuntutan tersebut. Tanpa keraguan, pemilihan umum yang bebas di setiap Negara Islam bisa menghasilkan layaknya demikian sebagaimana yang dihasilkan di Tunisia. Satu hal lagi adalah bahwa dalam kejadian satu tahun terakhir ini, telah ditunjukkan bahwa Allah yang maha kuasa memberikan kekuasaan kepada bangsa-bangsa sehingga tak seorangpun dapat menghalanginya. Bangsa-bangsa itu dengan kekuatan ilahi mampu merubah nasib mereka sendiri untuk mencapai kemenangan ilahi. Pemerintahan-pemerintahan adidaya khususnya Amerika Serikat, yang selama puluhan tahun dengan kebijakan politik dan militernya, mengabdikan negara-negara kawasan dan melakukan penjajahan ekonomi, budaya dan politik terhadap bagian sensitif dari dunia ini, kini dibenci oleh bangsa-bangsa kawasan tersebut. Kita harus yakin bahwa sistem-sistem baru hasil revolusi-revolusi ini tidak akan menjadi seperti sistem-sistem sebelumnya dan peta politik kawasan ini akan dibentuk dan digambarkan oleh bangsa mereka sendiri dengan orientasi kemuliaan dan kemerdekaan penuh mereka. Hal lain adalah bahwa ciri munafik para adidaya barat telah dikenal oleh masyarakat negara-negara kawasan. Amerika Serikat dan Eropa dalam kasus Mesir, Tunisia dan Libya berusaha mendukung oknum-oknum mereka sendiri dan ketika bangsa-bangsa itu sudah berhasil, maka para adidaya itu memperlihatkan diri dengan kebohongan sebagai teman dan sahabat bangsa-bangsa yang sudah menghasilkan kemenangan itu. kebenaran-kebenaran berharga dan ayat-ayat terang ilahiah, hasil kejadian-kejadian setahun terakhir di kawasan ini adalah lebih dari yang sudah dijelaskan dan orang-orang ahli siasat dapat melihat dan memahami kebenaran-kebenaran tersebut. Akan tetapi kini seluruh umat islam, khususnya bangsa-bangsa yang sudah bangkit, memerlukan dua unsur pokok: Pertama, melanjutkan untuk tetap istiqamah dan menghindari melemahnya keinginan. Berdasarkan firman Allah SWT kepada Nabi Muhammad SAW: ((فاستقم كما امرت و من تاب معك و لا تطغوا)) و ((فلذلك فادع واستقم كما امرت)) , dan juga dari lisan Nabi Musa a.s. : ((و قال موسي لقومه استعينوا بالله واصبرو، ان الارض لله يورثها من يشاء من عباده و العاقبه للمتقين)) Ketaqwaan terbesar untuk bangsa-bangsa yang sudah bangkit adalah bahwa jangan sampai terhentikan, dan jangan terbuai dengan keberhasilan-keberhasilan sementara yang telah diperoleh selama ini. Ini adalah bagian terpenting dari ketaqwaan yang telah Allah SWT anugerahkan yaitu masa depan yang cemerlang. Kedua, kesadaran terhadap tipu-daya para negara adidaya-adikuasa sombong yang telah mengalami kerugian karena pemberontakan dan revolusi tersebut. Mereka tidak akan pernah diam dan dengan kekuatan politik, militer dan keuangannya akan memulai mempengaruhi negara-negara itu. Modal ataupun alat yang mereka gunakan adalah menyuap, mengancam dan menipu. Berdasarkan pengalaman, di antara orang-orang elit juga ada yang mudah ditipu dan disuap sehingga mereka mau tidak mau melayani musuh karena ketakutan, kerakusan dan jebakan. Oleh karena itu, para pemuda, para cendekiawan dan ulama harus lebih sadar. Resiko yang amat berbahaya adalah campur tangan dan pengaruh barisan kafir dan sombong dalam pembentukan sisem politik baru di negara-negara ini. Mereka akan berusaha keras sehingga sistem-sistem baru itu tidak dibentuk berdasarkan identitas islami dan rakyat. Orang-orang yang menyukai negaranya dan memikirkan kemuliaan, harkat dan martabat dan kemajuan negaranya harus berusaha keras agar sistem-sistem baru ini dibentuk penuh berdasarkan keislaman dan kerakyatan. Peranan undang-undang dasar mereka itu adalah sangat penting. Persatuan nasional dan pengakuan agama, suku dan etnis di negaranya adalah syarat kemenangan mereka di masa depan. Bangsa-bangsa berani yang telah berusaha bangkit di Mesir, Tunisia dan Libya dan bangsa-bangsa pejuang lainnya harus mengetahui bahwa satu satunya jalan penyelamat dari kezaliman dan tipuan Amerika Serikat dan para adi daya sombong itu adalah terwujudnya keseimbangan kekuasaan di dunia sesuai dengan kepentingan mereka. Jika para muslim ingin menyelesaikan permasalahannya dengan para adikuasa dunia harus menjadi sebagai negara besar dari segi kekuasaan, dan hal tersebut tidak dapat tercapai kecuali dengan kerja sama, persahabatan dan persatuan negara-negara islam. Ini merupakan wasiat Imam Khomeini, yang tak dapat terlupakan. Amerika Serikat dan NATO hanya dengan alasan mencari khadafi sang diktator kotor Libya itu, mengebom Libya dan rakyatnya selama beberapa bulan. Khadafi adalah seorang yang, sebelum revolusi bangsa Libya, merupakan sahabat Amerika Serikat dan NATO, mereka memeluknya, mencuri kekayaan Libya dengan berpura-pura mencium tanggannya. Setelah terjadinya revolusi, mereka dengan alasan mencari khadafi, menghancurkan semua infrastruktur Libya. Negara mana yang dapat mencegah pembunuhan massa dan kerusakan Libya oleh NATO? Jika tangan para adidaya barat yang begitu kejam tidak dipotong, lalu kita selalu akan melihat ancaman-ancaman itu terhadap negara-negara islam dan keluar dari ancaman tersebut tidak dapat terwujud kecuali membentuk kubu kuat dunia islam. Kini barat, Amerika Serikat dan Zionis lebih lemah dibandingkan dengan sebelumnya. Banyak permasalahan ekonomi, kekalahan terus menerus di Afghanistan dan Irak, demonstrasi besar besaran masyarat Amerika Serikat dan negara-negara barat lain yang semakin hari semakin tersebar, perjuangan masyarakat Palestina dan Lebanon, revolusi dengan penuh keberanian masyarakat Yaman, Bahrain dan berbagai negara lain di bawah pengaruh Amerika Serikat, semuanya merupakan kabar gembir untuk umat islam khususnya negara-negara revolusioner baru. Ibu-ibu dan bapak-bapak yang beriman di seluruh dunia khususnya di Mesir, Tunisia dan Libya harus lebih memanfaatkan kesempatan ini dengan tujuan pembentukan kekuasaan internasional islami. AYATULLAH KHAMENAEI’S MESSAGE TO HAJJ PILGRIMS – 2011/1432A.H. In the Name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and may divine blessings and greetings be to the Master of the creatures, Muhammad al-Mustafa and his immaculate family and his elect companions. The spiritual spring of Hajj has arrived with its freshness, purity and God-given grandeur and majesty, gathering again the faithful and eager hearts like butterflies encircling the Ka’bah of Divine Monotheism and Islamic Unity. Camped at Makkah and Mina, Arafat and Mash´ar are the fortunate human beings who, having responded to the call of (وَأَذِّن فِي النَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ): (22:27) “proclaim the Hajj to all the people”, are being honored with the hospitality of the Clement and Munificent Lord. Here is the blessed House and the source of guidance from which the enlightening Divine signs radiated and the canopy of safety was set up to cast its universal shade. Wash your hearts in the Zamzam of piety, humility and God’s remembrance. Open the inner eye to the lights of the Divine signs. Embrace the spirit of submission and dedication, which are the hallmarks of true servant-hood. Keep on refreshing in your hearts the memory of that patriarch who, in willing compliance, led his Ishmael (Ismâeil) to the scene of sacrifice, thus showing us the clear path of attaining the friendship of the Glorious Lord and the manner of traversing it with a resolve infused with faith and an intent imbued with sincerity. The station of prophet Abraham (Ibrâhim) is one among these clarifying signs. The footprint by the side of Holy Ka’bah of prophet Ibrâhim, may Peace be upon him, is only a symbol of the station of Ibrâhim. The station of Ibrâhim is his station of dedication and self-sacrifice, his fortitude and resistance to personal desires and fatherly feelings as well as against the domination of unfaith, polytheism and Nimrod, the tyrant of the time. Today these two paths of deliverance lie open before each of us, individuals belonging to the Muslim Ummah. Determination, courage and firmness of resolve on part of each one of us can advance us towards the same goals to which mankind have been invited by the Divine envoys from Adam to the Seal of the Prophets, with the promise of dignity and felicity, in this world and in the Hereafter, for those who take this path. It will be worthy of the Hajj pilgrims’ attention at this great assembly of the Islamic Ummah to address the most important issues of the Islamic world. The uprisings and revolutions in some important Islamic countries are at the head of these issues. The events that have taken place in the Islamic world in the period between the previous and present Hajj pilgrimages can change the destiny of the Islamic Ummah, and they forebode a bright future accompanied with dignity and progress, material and spiritual. Dictators and ‘corrupt’ taghoots, allied with foreign powers, have been overthrown in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, and the stormy waves of popular uprising in some other countries threaten to bring down the castles of wealth and power. This new chapter in the history of Our Ummah reveals certain facts which are all manifest Divine signs and give us vital lessons. These facts should be taken into account by Muslim nations in all their calculations. First, a young generation has emerged from the hearts of these nations after decades of political subjugation to foreign powers, which with its admirable self-confidence, is ready to face threats, confront the dominant powers and is determined to change the status-quo. Second, despite the authority and efforts of secular rulers and their overt and covert measures to curtail the influence of religion in these countries, Islam, with its conspicuous and impressive presence, has become the guiding principle of popular expression and sentiment. Like a fountainhead effusing through popular discourse and behavior it has given vitality and freshness to the rallies and activities of the millions. The mosques and minarets, Islamic slogans and calls of Allahu Akbar, all are clear indications of this fact and the recent Tunisian elections provide decisive evidence for this claim. There is no doubt that free elections in any Islamic country will hardly result in anything but what happened in Tunisia. Moreover, as revealed for all by this year’s events, God Almighty has placed such a force in the resolve and determination of nations that no power whatsoever can withstand it. With this God-given power nations can change their destiny and partake of Divine help. Furthermore, during the last decades arrogant powers, led by the United States, had reduced the regional states to a subjugate condition through their political and security tactics. They imagined to have opened an obstacle-free highway for their rising economic, cultural and political domination over this susceptible part of the world. But now they are the primary target of the disgust and hatred of the region’s nations. Undoubtedly, the regimes emerging from these revolutions will never submit to the disgraceful inequalities of the past, and the political geography of the region will be drawn by the nations in pursuance of their dignity and complete independence. In addition, the crafty nature of the hypocritical Western powers has become all too apparent for the people of these countries. The U.S. and Europe made their utmost efforts to retain their pawns in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, each of them in a particular way. But when their wishes had to give in before the resolve of the nations, they cast a wily friendly smile at the triumphant public. There are further precious facts and manifest Divine signs embedded in the regional events of the past year, which are not hard to discern for reflective minds. Nevertheless, the entire Islamic Ummah and especially the revolutionary nations stand in need of two basic elements: First, the continuity of their stand and avoidance of slackness in resolve. In the Qur’an, the Divine summons to the Greatest Messenger, may God bless him and his family, are addressed in these words: فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلاَ تَطْغَوْا “Be steadfast, just as you have been commanded—[by Allah] and whoever has turned [to God] with you—and do not overstep the bounds (11:112)” and (فَلِذَلِكَ فَادْعُ وَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ). “Be steadfast, just as you have been commanded (42:15).” The Prophet Moses, may peace be upon him, is quoted as telling his people: (وقَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ اسْتَعِينُوا بِاللّهِ وَاصْبِرُواْ إِنَّ الأَرْضَ لِلّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَاء مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ) “Turn to God for help and be patient. The earth indeed belongs to God, and He gives its inheritance to whomever He wishes of His servants, and the outcome will be in favor of the pious people. ” (7:128) At the present, the most significant aspect of piety for the risen nations is not to halt in their auspicious movement, and not to let themselves be diverted by the achievements of this phase. This is the important part of the piety whose possessors are rewarded with the “favorable outcome.” Second, careful awareness with regard to the plots and gimmicks of the arrogant international powers who have suffered a setback from these uprisings and revolutions. They evidently will not sit idle. They will reenter the arena with all their political, financial and security outfits to reestablish their influence and control in these countries. Their outfits are carrot and stick and deceit. Experience has shown there are some among the elite who are susceptible to these gimmicks. Fear, greed or negligence prompt them to serve the enemy. The vigilant eyes of the youth, intellectuals and religious scholars should be closely watchful. The greatest threat posed by the Camp of Unfaith and arrogant powers lies in its intervention and influence over the structures of the new political systems in these countries. They will do their utmost to see that the new systems do not take on an Islamic and republic identity. All the concerned people in these countries and all those who cherish their homeland’s honor, dignity and progress should work to ensure the complete and perfect Islamic and republic character of the emergent polity. In this regard, the role of the constitutions will be significant. National unity and official recognition of sectarian, tribal and ethnic differences are a precondition of future success. The valiant revolutionary nations of Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, as well as other awakened and combatant nations, should know that the sole means of deliverance from the oppression and guile of the United States and other Western hubristic powers is to establish a global balance of power conducive to their interests. The Muslims should bring themselves on a par with the great world powers in order to be able to reach a serious solution of their problems with the World-devourers. This cannot be achieved except with the cooperation, understanding and solidarity of Islamic countries. This was an unforgettable advice of the great Imam Khomeini. For months on, the United States and NATO dropped bombs on the heads of the Libyan people making Gaddafi, a vicious dictator, an excuse. Gaddafi was someone who was considered their close friend before the valiant uprising of the Libyan people. They used to coddle him, steal the wealth of Libya through his hands and press or kiss his hand in order to dupe him. Following the people’s uprising, they made him an excuse to destroy the entire infrastructure of Libya. Which state could stop the tragic massacre of the Libyan people and destruction of the country at the hands of NATO? Until the claws and fangs of the bloodthirsty and barbaric Western powers are not broken, such dangers will remain conceivable for Islamic countries. Their safety from such dangers is not possible except by forming the Islamic world as a powerful pole. Today the West, United States and Zionism are weaker than ever before. Economic troubles, successive failures in Afghanistan and Iraq, deep-running public outrage in America and other Western countries with its daily widening scope, the struggles and sacrifices of the people of Palestine and Lebanon, the daring popular uprisings in Yemen, Bahrain and some other countries under American influence—all these are significant portents for the Islamic Ummah, especially for the emergent revolutionary nations. Faithful men and women throughout the Islamic world, particularly in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya should make the most of this opportunity for the formation of an international Islamic power block. The vanguard and the elite of the uprisings should place their trust in Almighty God and, with reliance on His promise of help, adorn the new chapter in the history of the Islamic Ummah with their lasting achievements, thus earning God’s approval and fulfilling the prerequisites of His help May Peace be upon God’s righteous servants! It has been a ground breaking year in the Arab world. Some revolutions are taking their first steps, others are still feeling the pangs of birth. Either way a new region is being born. In a predominantly Muslim region, the Arab Spring has been dubbed an Islamic Awakening. At this conference in London, religious scholars of different faiths and denominations, political figures and experts gathered to discuss the idea. The job is not done yet. But among many of those fighting for freedom on the streets of the Arab world, their belief in god - Allah in Arabic - means everything. A matter of life and death. The sound of AllahuAkbar - God is Great - is now well known across the world synonymous to protestors who believe victory cannot be achieved without him. Of course it is not just Muslims who have been protesting. So what does the Islamic Awakening mean for them? Among the political, social and cultural complexities of these revolutions, the issue of spirituality and faith cannot be ignored. It has played a role. Its significance is yet to be paved. The revolution over the last year have occurred in the muslim world. At this conference they are discussing why they should be called an Islamic awakening. It’s clear Islam played a role in these just born revolutions still defining themselves. They are young movements rooted in a history that must be understood. That’s why the questions being asked her are so crucial. What are the elements of true Islamic values and what would they mean for the region if implemented.

[24 May 2012] Egypt's historic presidential election - Middle East Today - English Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsi seems to be leading in the latest count of the polls in the first round of the first popular presidential election in Egypt since the former dictator Hosni Mubarak step down. The next and the final round will most probably be a face-off between Morsi and former Prime minister of Mubarak's regime, Ahmed Shafiq, who seems to be coming in second according to the Muslim Brotherhood's counts. In any case observers believe this is the first step to real popular representation in Egypt.

[19 June 2012] Egypt military not to give up power - English The candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Mohamed Morsi, has won the country's presidential run-off as he secures 51.8 percent of the votes, according to unofficial final results. The ballot count was reportedly completed on Monday, indicating that Morsi won the presidential race with 51.8 percent of the votes, but that his rival Ahmad Shafiq, who was Egypt's former premier when ousted dictator Hosni Mubarak was in power, came in second with 48.2 percent. Earlier on Monday, a member of the Egyptian Electoral Committee also confirmed that Morsi is in the lead in the presidential run-off. [13 July 2012] Is Islamic banking applicable in today economy - English After the baking crisis of 2008 and the collapse of financial markets, doubts have emerged on the capability of the modern financial model to sustain a healthy economy. With the failure of both capitalism and communism, some experts, especially in Muslim countries are looking at Islam to find an alternative model. Islam's strong prohibition of usury (Riba) in particular is seen as a new foundation for a healthy banking system and consequently a sustainable and fairer economy. Other Islamic institutions like zakat and waqf (endowments) have potential economical functions. In recent years Islamic Banking for example, has been tried with some success in some of Muslim countries and even in Britain. British Financial Services Authority estimates the assets controlled by Islamic banks at the global level to be $200-500bn which is growing at a pace of 10-15% per year. With prospect of about 12 million Muslims living in EU, Islamic financial and economical model is a feasible solution for the future. [03 Aug 2012] How can Muslims in West help Islamic Awakening - English After too much expectation and uncertainty, finally the Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohamed Morsi won the election with 51.7 percent of the votes against Ahmed Shafiq. This came after a close competition in the second round, while some rumours were suggesting that the old regimes remnant Ahmed Shafiq might win. Thousands of Muslim Brotherhood supporters filled the streets and squares in Cairo and other cities to celebrate this victory, a turning point in Egypt's history to move from dictatorship to. While Morsi succeeds Hosni Mubarak, who was overthrown 16 months ago after a popular uprising, the military council has this month curbed the powers of the presidency. This means that the head of state will have to work closely with the army on a planned democratic constitution. Details: The world is witness today to yet another deplorable incident in a growing trend of Islamophobia in our policy and society. The insult to the Prophet of Islam has been grave indeed, and it is a direct result of the hate-mongering from policy makers which has emboldened such bigotry. Islam respects and honors monotheistic Prophets such as Adam, Noah, Jesus, Moses, Abraham, and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all) and considers the ridiculing of these personalities a great sin and disrespect.
