Within days-- the US will hit 15 trillion dollars in debt. That's fifteen with 12 zeroes behind it. The numeric milestone comes at a time when Americans as a whole have a distrust of Congress for how it spends their money.
Across the country protests and public discontent is rising over federal spending from conservatives and liberals. Occupy protests that started at Wall Street in New York have spread across the country.
They're angry with banks that received federal funds but insist on charging customers extra fees. They call it bank transfer day.
In the Eurozone, President Obama spends time in Cannes, France, for the G-20 summit that takes place as Europe is trying to determine a bailout package for debt-ridden Greece.
But while the president is overseas-he has to fight for a reelection battle back at home. republican rivals are pointing to the
country's crawling economy and describe it as a result of weak leadership.
And the US' struggling recovery was dealt another blow this week with a lackluster jobs report. U.S. employers hired an estimated 80,000 people last month, worse than economists expected. The unemployment rate only dropped a tenth of a percent down to 9 percent.
Congress is still so divided that President Obama is trying to find ways to get the country moving by using executive orders instead of a preferred legislative process. Meanwhile, as lawmakers squabble the US debt steadily rises with the national poverty rate and the number of dissatisfied Americans.

A senior Iranian military commander says his country is capable of increasing the range of its missiles, but it will not go beyond two-thousand kilometers.
The commander of Iran\'s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the IRGC, Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Ja\'fari, says the Leader of the Islamic Revolution has ordered Iran\'s armed forces not to produce missiles with a range of over two thousand kilometers. Ja\'fari has however said that all of Israel must remain within the reach of Iran\'s missiles. Elsewhere, the I-R-G-C commander has spoken of the situation in Syria. Ja\'fari says Syrian government forces have the upper hand over foreign-backed insurgents across the country. Ja\'fari has added that Iran will continue to support Syria because Damascus is at the frontline of resistance in the Middle East against the Israeli occupation.

Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei narrates and explains a tradition narrated from the 6th divinely appointed Imam, Imam Ja\'far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq (A), where Imam Sadiq (A) speaks about \"An Oppressed Turning Into An Oppressor\".
Yet, is it possible for an oppressed person to turn into an oppressor?
What is a tradition from Imam Ja\'far al-Sadiq (A) along these lines?
How can a person who does Dua, turn into an oppressor?
And does oppression have various different facets; some that we rarely consider to be oppression?
Is there a limit to sending curses upon an oppressor and if so, what is the measure for that limit?
What happens to a person who sends curses upon another, when they exceed certain limits?
And finally, what is a Dua that turns the oppressed into an oppressor; according to a tradition stated by Imam Ja\'far al-Sadiq (A)?
Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei expounds upon the wise words of the 6th divinely appointed Imam, Imam Ja\'far al-Sadiq (A).

Amir Mehdi Kazemi, Press TV,Tehran
Another achievement for Iran's aerospace industry; a new satellite project aimed at bringing Iranian scientists a step closer to a more advanced space technology.
According to Iran's space organization the Safir-e- Rasad Iran's second satellite carrier is responsible for placing the 15.3 kilogram Rasad satellite into orbit. Just minutes after the launch signals were sent down to earth via space cameras, indicating that the satellite had been placed successfully into its circuit on a two month mission.
The project has been the result of cooperations between the aerospace organization and Malek Ashtar University both affiliated to Iran's ministry of defense and Iran's space organization.
The Rasad is the country's first imaging satellite. Despite its small dimensions which puts it under the category of micro-satellites the device has all the features of big satellite.
It will orbit the earth at an altitude of 260 kilometers 15 times every 24 hours.
The satellite is equipped with solar panels and uses solar energy to work.
Iran launched its first home made satellite Omid in 2009. The telecommunication satellite put Iran's name in the list as the ninth country to develop satellite launch capability.
With Iran's space projects speeding up the sky no longer seems to be the limit for scientists in Iran. Tehran says that it plans to launch the country's first manned mission to space by 2019.

[07 Aug 2012] Iran Jalili meets Lebanese top officials - English
Resistance and the Islamic awakening: these words were highlighted by the Secretary of the Iranian Supreme national security council Saeed Jalili during his visit to Beirut. Jalili met with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, Parliament speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Najib Miqati. In his press remarks the Iranian official implied that the changes recently witnessed in the region were not in Israel's favor. But at the same time he warned that Israel was pushing to limit the anti-Israeli momentum by resorting to the sectarian card.

[11 June 13] IRS abuse of power - English

The extraordinary revelation this week that the Internal Revenue Service targeted tea party groups for more aggressive enforcement highlights exactly why caution is needed in any response to the much-vilified Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. FEC.
Responding to a flurry of complaints from conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, the Internal Revenue Service admitted Friday it made \"mistakes\" in the last few years while trying to process those requests.
Multiple tea party groups reported significant delays and excessive questioning from IRS officials while trying to obtain 501(c) (4) status.
It also shows how all Americans, from the most liberal to the most conservative, should closely guard their First Amendment rights, and why giving the government too much power to limit political speech will inevitably result in selective enforcement against unpopular groups.
While Lois Lerner, a senior official at the IRS, apologized on Friday for these unconstitutional practices, which are as unseemly as the Bush administration\'s targeting of the NAACP and the House of Representatives\' defunding of Planned Parenthood on purely political grounds.

Iran says it\'s ready to negotiate a comprehensive and final deal on its nuclear energy program. The preliminary accord, which was reached on Sunday, meant to lay the foundations for a comprehensive agreement later this year.
Zarif was speaking at Tehran\'s Mehrabad Airport upon arrival back home from Geneva. He said the Iranian nation showed that no one can talk to them through pressure. Zarif also said Tehran\'s right to uranium enrichment is enshrined in the nuclear deal. Based on the interim deal, Iran has agreed to limit the level of its enrichment activities for the next six months in exchange for the easing of sanctions. The foreign minister was given a heroic welcome by the people who\'d gathered at the airport several hours before his arrival.

France says the European Union would likely lift some sanctions on Iran in December as part of a nuclear deal between Tehran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany.
Foreign Minister Laurent Fabuius has said that in a few weeks time, the EU foreign ministers would sit down for talks over the partial removal of sanctions on Iran. He noted that the lifting of sanctions would be limited, targeted and reversible. France\'s top diplomat also described as unlikely any strike on Iran by Israel, saying no one would understand such an attack at this stage. On Sunday, Iran signed an agreement with the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany over its nuclear program in Geneva. Under the deal-- the first of its kind in a decade, Iran will limit its nuclear program in return for the loosening of sanctions.

The US National Security Agency has justified tracking the data of millions of people, wherever they are in the world.
The NSA says its tracking of cell phones overseas is legally authorized under a presidential order. The intelligence agency says it isn\'t tracking every foreign phone call, and it takes measures to limit how much US data is collected. It was revealed earlier this week that the NSA gathers up to five billion records every day on the location data for hundreds of millions of cell phones worldwide. Documents supplied by whistleblower Edward Snowden detail how the NSA is applying sophisticated mathematical techniques to map cell phone owners\' relationships.

Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency have wrapped up what\'s been desrcibed as a productive meeting on Tehran\'s nuclear energy program in the Austrian capital. The two sides will hold a fresh round of talks in Tehran on January 21.
The latest talks follow a recent nuclear deal between Iran and the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany. Tehran also earlier agreed to provide the I-A-E-A access to formerly off-limit sites. Iran met its first obligation under the I-A-E-A agreement at the weekend, by allowing the UN nuclear agency inspectors to visit Arak\'s heavy-water facility.

A group of defiant US lawmakers will introduce a bill to impose more sanctions on Iran despite Washington\'s efforts to hold off new measures.
Senate aides say a vote on the bipartisan plan is expected in January. The bill aims to target Iran\'s remaining oil exports and foreign exchange. The administration of President Barack Obama has been calling on lawmakers to delay any more sanctions as a diplomatic path with Tehran is pursued. Iran and the P5+1 group reached a nuclear deal in Geneva last month. Tehran agreed to limit its nuclear energy program in exchange for some sanctions relief. The sides have agreed to work to reach a comprehensive deal in six months. Tehran has warned that new US sanctions will kill the Geneva deal.

Iran, the European Union and the US hold talks on remaining issues related to implementing the Geneva deal between Tehran and the P5+1.
The talks in Geneva come a few days after expert-level negotiations between representatives of Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany. The Iranian deputy foreign minister says there are still three technical points that need to be further discussed. Based on the Geneva deal between Iran and the P5+1, Tehran will limit some aspects of its nuclear energy program in return for the removal of some sanctions.
