As the fighting intensifies in Syria, Lebanon continues to struggle with the influx of Syrian refugees crossing its border.

As Lebanon is grappling with an influx of Syrian refugees, the latest UN figures highlights the extent of the crisis. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has said one out of five people living in Lebanon are refugees who have fled the conflict in neighboring Syria. Some 30 percent of the Refugees live in substandard shelters. Lebanon\\\'s government has refused to set up official camps for the refugees fearing a crisis similar to that of the Palestinian refugees 52 thousand of whom were living in Syria. Many of Syrian refugees are unregistered and undocumented migrants and live in hundreds of unofficial tent settlements on northern and eastern peripheries. The figures provided by the UNHCR do not include hundreds of thousands of refugees who are not registered. But estimates show that there could be over one million Syrian refugees in Lebanon living in tents like these. Some, 280,000 are children of school age, and over 70% very much dependent on any humanitarian aid they can get. The greatest suffering in the camps is seen in the eyes of the children. This boy was eager to go on television hoping that our presence would attract humanitarian aid. The women complain about how they\\\'re not getting enough help for their children: This man was a school teacher in Syria\\\'s Hama. Now he\\\'s trying to help create an educational center for children of school age, many of whom have not received any education for two years: Lebanon currently hosts the highest number of refugees from Syria. More than a million other Syrians have fled to Jordan and Turkey. The United Nations has warned that the number of Syrian refugees will almost double over the next year to top four million.

The mayor of Bethlehem says Israeli tour operators are controlling the influx of travelers into the historical city over the Christmas period. This, the mayor says, is hurting the Palestinian economy.

Gilgit-Baltistan, September 27: Roads wear a deserted look, shopping and business centres remain shut and attendance in government offices and schools stays thin. This is the situation in Gilgit Baltistan, which is facing sectarian strife. The root cause is the influx of Sunnis from Pakistan -- essentially Pashtuns. Since the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto regime in the mid 1970s, Islamabad has been continuously encouraging sectarian polarization in Gilgit-Baltistan. The situation worsened dramatically under General Zia-ul-Haq, when the military dictator encouraged cadres of the radical Sunni Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) to extend its activities to the Gilgit-Baltistan region. ISI-backed Sunni extremist organizations are now engaged in activities like bomb blasts and killings that provoke sectarian clashes.

With English voiceover: Turkey, Qatar, KSA behind increasing violence in Syria: Nasrallah The Hezbollah Secretary General says Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are responsible for fueling violence in Syria and the increase in casualties. Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah made the remarks in a televised speech in the southern Lebanese town of Baalbek on the occasion of Arbaeen, which marks the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH). He said Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are arming and funding militants fighting the Damascus government. Nasrollah said the crisis in Syria has a political solution and cautioned that the continuation of the Syrian conflict would have dire consequences. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"If Syria\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s battle continues, it will be long, bloody and destructive,\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" the Hezbollah secretary general pointed out. Nasrallah said Lebanon in the most affected country in the Middle East by the Syrian crisis, calling on Lebanese political factions to refrain from any moves which would throw the country into turmoil. He went on to say that the influx of Syrian refugees in Lebanon indicates a major humanitarian crisis, which must not be politicized. The Hezbollah secretary general stressed that division is the most dangerous threat the Muslim nations face, saying Takfiri extremists are the product of the US seeking to sow discord among Muslims. He said Takfiris are behind countless massacres and bombings in Muslim countries and particularly Syria. Nasrallah called on the incumbent Lebanese government to devise a strategy to safeguard the country\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s oil and gas resources and said the Hezbollah Resistance Movement is ready to undertake the task of protecting such resources. He concluded that despite US and Israeli efforts to \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"isolate, blacklist and demonize Hezbollah such efforts against the resistance movement will get nowhere.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"

Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman has urged the Southeast Asian country of Myanmar to take stronger action to prevent the ongoing persecution of Rohingya Muslims. The remarks come after a fresh wave of violence against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar\'s western Rakhine State has triggered a bigger influx of refugees into neighboring Malaysia. \"Myanmar has to address the problem,\" Aman told reporters at a meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) ministers in Brunei on Sunday.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Mark Glenn, co-founder of the Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement, about European officials warning that the influx of Europeans to Syria is increasing the threat of future terrorist attacks in Europe.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague says the extremists fighting against the Syrian government pose a threat to Europe. The warning comes as a fierce battle is underway between the Syrian army and al-Qaeda affiliated groups, whose ranks have been swollen by an influx of thousands of foreign militants in recent months. Hague made the remarks at the opening of the Manama Dialog on security, weeks ahead of an international peace conference on Syria. Foreign nationals operating alongside al-Qaeda militants in Syria have stated that the United States and Britain will be their next targets. Ironically, the insurgents have enjoyed logistic and financial support from some Western and regional countries.
