An Iraqi group says it will launch attacks inside Saudi Arabia if Riyadh continues to promote sectarian violence in the region. The group, which calls itself the Mukhtar Army, has also claimed responsibility for a mortar attack which targeted an uninhabited area of Saudi Arabia on Thursday. It says the attack was carried out in retaliation for decrees issued in Saudi Arabia that insult Shias and encourage people to kill them. Saudi Arabia has been one of the vocal supporters of Takfiri insurgents fighting against the Syrian government. Riyadh also stands accused of promoting sectarian violence in Iraq.

In Syria, insurgent groups continue to fight one another. A group calling itself the Islamic Front has killed and captured a number of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant insurgents in the town of Al-Nairab. The Islamic Front, which is the biggest insurgent alliance, had earlier announced that it would fight against the group. Earlier in the day, Al-Qaeda-linked militants killed at least 50 rival insurgents. The insurgents were killed in attacks, car bombings, and summary executions by militants loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, also known as the ISIL. It was the third day of infighting, which began when militants of the so-called Free Syrian Army attacked checkpoints and bases manned by the ISIL. Previously, the clashes were mostly in the northern provinces of Aleppo and Idlib, but opposition sources say the fighting has now spread to the east.

While Bahrainis have taken to the streets to protest the al-Khalifa regime\'s dissolution of a prominent Shia clerical group, Bahrain Forum for Human Rights in Beirut held a conference to denounce the regime\'s decision and call for reversing the regime\'s decision. Activists have called the move a sectarian crackdown on Shias in the tiny Kingdom, stressing its unconstitutionality. Islamic scholars have condemned the dissolution, calling the regime\'s crackdown on peaceful demonstrators crime against all Muslims in the region. Other religious figures have urged Bahraini authorities to reverse their decision, warning of an eruption of violence in Manama. Since mid-February 2011, Bahrain has been witnessing peaceful demonstrations calling for the al-Khalifa royal family to relinquish power. On Wednesday, a court in the tiny Persian Gulf country ordered the dissolution of the clerical group. Iran's security officers grounded the plane carrying the ringleader of Jundullah terrorist group Abdolmalek Rigi in one of Iran's southern ports, informed sources say. Jundullah, which has operated in Iran's Sistan-Baluchistan and Pakistan's Baluchistan provinces, has carried out a number of attacks against high profile Iranian targets, especially the government and security officials. As dialog continues between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, a group of US senators is threatening to push for more anti-Iran sanctions. Fourteen Democratic and Republican lawmakers have pledged to work together on legislation aimed at imposing new sanctions on Iran over the coming weeks. The bipartisan group of lawmakers includes Democrats Robert Menendez and Republican Bob Corker. The lawmakers say they want to prevent Iran from acquiring the capability to develop a nuclear weapon. The US has passed several rounds of illegal sanctions against the country, hitting the Iranian public hard. Tehran says its nuclear energy program is for power generation and producing medical radio isotopes.

Al-Qaeda-linked insurgents have executed seven militants from a rival group in Syria. This unverified video shows the al-Qaeda-linked militants shooting Hassan Jazera, the commander of the insurgent group Ghurabaa al-Sham and six of his men in the head. Divisions among insurgents have been deepening in recent months. And the groups have engaged in many deadly clashes in different parts of Syria. Several insurgent commanders have been killed on both sides during the fighting.
