03 2010 - As you may all know by now that the Federal Court ruling has condemned the
efforts of Conservative Immigration Minister Jason Kenney and his Communications
Director, Alykhan Velshi, to deny British MP George Galloway entry to Canada. In a
judgment released Monday (Sept. 27), Justice Richard Mosley found that Kenney’s and
Velshi’s efforts to keep Mr. Galloway out of the country were motivated by
disagreement with Mr. Galloway’s politics, rather than by national security
concerns. So now George Galloway returned to Canada to deliver in person the message
he was forced to deliver by Internet connection in March 2009.

15th May 2008 Current News
Outspoken British parliamentarian George Galloway says allegations that Iran is stoking the violence in Lebanon are unfounded.
In an interview with Jordanian paper al-Ghad, Galloway rejected accusations that the recent unrest in Lebanon is 'the product of an Iranian conspiracy in a bid to dominate the region'.
"I consider spraying the sand in the public eye is aimed at misrepresenting the vision of reality that leaders of Arab countries support the US and imperialist forces," he said.
Galloway, a leading campaigner against the occupations of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine, was expelled from the Labor Party in October 2003 when his strong anti-war statements brought the party into 'disrepute'.
The Respect Party parliamentarian went on to say that the Lebanese crisis has been conspired in a bid to weaken the country's resistance against Israel.
Lebanon was teetering on the brink of civil war after the US-backed ruling coalition decided to sack Beirut's Airport Security Chief and ban Hezbollah's telecommunications network.

Former British MP George Galloway arrived in Toronto on Saturday, October 2 to resume his pan-Canadian speaking tour after being prevented from entering Canada in March 2009. A welcome rally that includes tour organizers, supporters and Mr. Galloway's legal counsel was assembled at 6:30 p.m. at the Terminal 3 arrivals gate at Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Upon Mr. Galloway's arrival, he hold a 15-minute media conference at the gate.
"I am elated by the recent Federal Court decision, said Mr. Galloway". "Justice Mosley's decision has refuted Jason Kenney's ridiculous claims about me, and has confirmed that the attempt to keep me out of Canada was purely a political one."

[16 July 2012] George Galloway London militarized for Olympics - English
The private security company, G4S, was handed 300 million pounds to hire 10,000 security guards to police the London Olympics. Last week, the army marched in another 3,500 soldiers to tighten the security for Londoners. "There are already signs all over the place warning drivers not to venture in the central London and the underground stations are festooned with posters warning of the mayhem to come," said George Galloway.
East London, where the Olympics are centered, has become a militarized zone. Blocks of apartments have had ground-to-air missile batteries installed on their roofs despite protests by the owners. Special lanes are being installed on approach roads so the athletes and organizers can be fast tracked, avoiding the traffic jams. According to the governor of the Bank of England, Britain is now in recession, which is set to continue for another five years.

[06 Aug 2012] Panetta raises threat of military attack on Iran Galloway - English
US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has raised the threat of a military attack on Iran regarding its nuclear energy program in an effort to reassure what they call Israel during a trip to Tel Aviv. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seems to dismiss the tough talk though, saying American statements of solidarity with Israel and hints at military attacks are not working. Iran however has denied the Western accusations that Tehran is seeking a military objective in its nuclear energy program. According to a Fatwa from the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei Iran is prohibited to follow such an objective. Russian President Vladimir Putin was in London on Thursday to discuss the Syrian issue with David Cameron. So far, Russia and China have opposed any kind of UN resolution that could be seen as supporting Libyan-style Western military intervention. "Britain has retaliated in part by blocking a Russian arm shipment to Syria but the weaponry keeps getting through at least to those favored by the West," said George Galloway.

Topic of discussion in this edition of Press TV's Comment is revolutions across the Arab world. Egyptian detainees are still being tortured by the military. The Egyptian government is still refusing to allow in George Galloway, but he says he still intends to fly to Egypt despite being threatened with arrest.
He condemns the brutal attack of the Bahraini government forces against peaceful protesters in the middle of the night.
Galloway says that there will not be another revolution in Iran. He says although there are differences of opinion about different politicians in Iran, but in his experience people overwhelmingly support the Islamic state. He says that there are dissenting voices and their views too are legitimate, and they are not all foreign agents, although there are foreign agents there.

[06 July 2012] Comment with George Galloway: Arafat poisoned by polonium (I) - English
Scientists of a Swiss institute say they have evidence that former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat may have been poisoned with polonium. According to the findings of laboratory research conducted at the Institute de Radiophysique in Lausanne, Switzerland, Arafat was poisoned by polonium, a rare, highly radioactive element, al-Jazeera reported on Tuesday. "I can confirm that we measured an unexplained, elevated amount of unsupported polonium-210 in the belongings of Mr. Arafat that contained stains of biological fluids," said Dr. Francois Bochud, the director of the institute.
Bochud stated that the tests focused on biological samples taken from his belongings, which were given to his wife Suha Arafat by the hospital in Paris where he died. "If (Suha Arafat) really wants to know what happened to her husband (we need) to find a sample -- I mean, an exhumation... should provide us with a sample that should have a very high quantity of polonium if he was poisoned," he added. Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) leader Yasser Arafat died on November 11, 2004, following several weeks of medical treatment. At the time, French officials refused to reveal the exact cause of his death on grounds of privacy laws, fueling rumors that the Mossad had poisoned him with thallium, another radioactive element.

The UK military has been asked to provide some 3,500 extra troops to guard the Olympic Games. The security duties for the event have been contracted in part to the private security firm G4S. But there are fears that the company cannot provide the 13,700 guards it promised to deliver for the venue. More than 23,000 guards as well as British troops, at a cost exceeding 800 million dollars, are to provide security for the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games in Britain.

[2] Plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar with George Galloway - 27 july 2012 - English
The government of Myanmar refuses to recognize Rohingyas, who it claims are not natives and classifies them as illegal migrants, although they have lived in the country for generations. Myanmar's President Thein Sein said on July 19 that the "only solution" to the plight of Rohingya Muslims is to send the country's nearly one million Muslims -- which the UN says is one of the world's most persecuted minorities -- to refugee camps run by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
However, the UN refugee agency has snubbed the idea of setting up refugee camps to accommodate the Rohingyas. "We will send them away if any third country would accept them," Sein added. "This is what we are thinking is the solution to the issue." The UN says decades of discrimination have left the Rohingyas stateless, with Myanmar implementing restrictions on their movement and withholding land rights, education and public services.

[2] Mystery of Egypt Sinai border attacks with George Galloway - 10 Aug 2012 - English
n Sunday, unknown gunmen opened fire on the Egyptian border security guards at a checkpoint near the Karm Abu Salem border crossing, killing at least 16 security personnel and injuring several others. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi called an emergency meeting with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces following the incident on Sunday, the Egyptian state media reported. "President Morsi says that this cowardly attack will not go without a response... and that those who committed this crime will pay dearly," said a statement issued late on Sunday by the Egyptian president's office.
After killing the border guards at a checkpoint near the Karm Abu Salem border crossing, the militants, who were wearing traditional Bedouin clothing, seized two armored vehicles and quickly drove off the scene. Witnesses said the militants also fired rocket-propelled grenades at the Egyptian army checkpoint. Meanwhile, an official of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas declared that, "The border between Egypt and Gaza is protected. We closed the tunnels to prevent anyone from escaping (into Gaza) and we have put our forces on alert."
In Israel, a spokesman for the armed forces said that one of the vehicles exploded while trying to cross the Rafah border. The other vehicle was reportedly hit by an Israeli airstrike. Egypt has been trying to secure its borders following last year's revolution, which resulted in the ouster of Hosni Mubarak.

A British lawmaker has slammed Israel\'s attempts to undermine the recent deal between Iran and the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany.
Galloway says Tel Aviv is trying to undermine Iran\'s nuclear deal while it never allows the IAEA to inspect its nuclear sites. He says Israel accuses Iran of being after nukes, while Tehran has had regular international inspections. The British MP says Iran has never invaded any country in centuries and never occupied anyone else\'s territory. He said Tehran is also a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, whereas Tel Aviv is not and also stands guilty of invasion and occupation. Galloway called Israel an international law-breaker which is not facing any penalties.
