NASA's Solar Dynamic Observatory filmed images of a large solar flare on February 24 2011. The (M3.6 rating) event is not the strongest solar flare ever recorded but was still big enough to kick up a huge tendril of plasma, known as a solar prominence. The entire eruption lasted for about 90 minutes. Thursday's flare was the latest in a recent series of of sun storm emissions, but its blast was directed away from the Earth and is not expected to pose any disruption to satellites or other electronic systems. Scientists use a three tier system to classify solar flares; Class X are the largest and most powerful, Class M are medium but still considered very large, while Class C are the weakest.."

In the US, a camera crew from an Atlanta television station has filmed an incident that shows why Icy roads require their own kind of driving skills! The footage shows a vehicle sliding down a hill before hitting the side of the road. Moments later a passer-by in hi-visibility jacket comes to help the driver but only before another car spins out of control and slams into the stationary car. But that\'s not all. After bystanders call an ambulance for the drivers, a third car skids across the same part of the icy road and comes to an abrupt stop near the first two. The incident follows a snow storm that had nearly shut down Atlanta on Wednesday.

Hundreds of Palestinian have died inside Israeli prisons and now an Israeli television channel has aired shocking footage of Israel's so-called Control and Restraint unit, or Masada, attacking Palestinian prisoners. Activists have demanded people in charge of the operation, carried out in 2007, be charged and the family of one of the victims told Al Jazeera that they would consider suing Masada.
