Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, in a TV address, has said that he does not plan to step down, angering pro-democracy protesters in the country who had urged his immediate resignation.
Mubarak stated that he will never leave Egypt in the face of 17 tumultuous days of public protests, provoking outbursts of anger from protesters at Cairo's' Liberation square, who prior to the speech had created dramatic scenes of jubilation as they expected Mubarak to declare his resignation, a Press TV correspondent reported.
The embattled president once again asserted that he will not stand as candidate for the upcoming elections, and that he was transferring some powers to Vice President Omar Suleiman.
He further acknowledged that his government had made mistakes and expressed sorrow for those killed in the demonstrations, promising that those responsible for the killings would be punished.
"I don't feel embarrassment in holding talks with the youths and creating dialog," said Mubarak, adding that "the protesters' blood will not be in vain."
Meanwhile, Vice President Omar Suleiman made a speech during which he called on Egyptians youth to to go back home and resume work.
The protesters took off their shoes and brandished them at the screen on which they had seen Mubarak's speech, and shouted "Down with Mubarak, leave, leave!"
Others called for an immediate general strike and called on army -- which has deployed large numbers of troops around the square -- to support the Egyptian nation, instead of Mubarak's “illegitimate” regime.
"Egyptian army, the choice is now, the regime or the people,” the protesters chanted.
Meanwhile, a Press TV correspondent said that furious crowds of people at Cairo's' Liberation Square, which has become the focal point of pro-democracy demonstrations, are moving toward Mubarak's palace to vent out their outrage at the decision.
Reports say more than 300 people have been killed by security forces and thousands injured since the beginning of the revolution on January 25.

Egyptians are set to mark the third anniversary of the ouster of former dictator Hosni Mubarak. On the eve of the occasion, supporters of deposed president Mohamed Morsi are planning mass rallies to condemn his ouster by the military last July.
The Anti-coup Alliance, which is made up of 40 Egyptian Islamic parties, has issued a statement urging Morsi supporters to hold nationwide protests. The alliance also called for symbolic rallies near foreign embassies and consulates to condemn their support for the military-backed interim government. Supporters of the toppled leader have staged non-stop demonstrations since Morsi\'s ouster, demanding his reinstatement.

In the occultation of Imam Mahdi (ATFS), our Fuqaha have the general Wilayah (authority) on the Muslim Ummah. And a conditions fulfilling Faqih (or a group of Fuqaha) are to manage and administer the affairs of the Muslim Ummah.
Martyr Beheshti establishes an argument and lists the rationale behind this Islamic model of governance. In addition he lists the qualities and conditions that a Faqih needs to fulfill before he can be given the authority over the Muslim Ummah.
The clip also includes the response of Imam Ruhollah Khomeini when asked that with absolute authority, wouldn\'t the Faqih turn into a dictator? In other words, wouldn\'t Wilayat al-Faqih bring about dictatorship? Watch how Imam (R) responded to this question.

The current Ukraine crisis has taken the world by storm and some, by surprise. With the barrage of mainstream media excerpts being surreptitiously popularized through platforms like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook, many are being deceived into keyboard-bashing their support for Ukraine and perpetuating the false notion that Putin is the new Hitler with WWIII on the horizon. Many are raising their voices in protest against Russia, yet the shameful crocodile tears of the Western elite are reflected in their silence over Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and the nations enduring great oppression at the hands of the USA, its stooges, and its employees.
Shaykh Muzaffer Abbas Hyder from the UK highlights some of the important - and often overlooked - facts surrounding the Ukraine crisis. Who is behind the manufacturing of this conflict? Are the hypocritical Western powers justified in their usage of political jargon like, “Nazis”, “Fascism” and “Dictator”? Why is it that Russian millionaires are branded as “oligarchs” while American billionaires are celebrated by the common public? And, most importantly, what should be done by truth-seekers, Revolutionaries and freedom-loving people across the globe?

Iraq was attacked under the false pretext of uncovering weapons of mass destruction and overthrowing a dictator. The dictator is toppled and WMDs are not uncovered. A democratic government is established by the votes of the people but, after 6 years, the occupiers are still there. They insist on imposing colonial agreements on the people of Iraq by keeping them under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter.
Millions of people have been killed or displaced, and the occupiers, without a sense of shame, are still seeking to solidify their position in the political geography of the region and to dominate oil resources.
They have no respect for the people of Iraq and disregard any dignity, rights or status for them. The UN is not capable enough to solve the problems and to remove aggression, occupation and imposition.

The Islamic Revolution Leader cautioned that the west and its puppet regimes were trying to make the revolutionary nations to perceive their revolutions were useless, adding however that unlike those western claims, the political and social situation on the ground has effectively changed due to the revolutions and that greater changes were forthcoming.
Ayatollah Khamenei described Egypt as a great country with an influential nation, adding that former corrupt rulers had stolen the Egyptian nation\\\\\\\'s dignity by turning it into a strategic treasure for the usurping Israel however today the treasure has been recovered from the Zionist usurpers.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Mubarak regime was tasked to guarantee the Israeli security even at the cost of imprisoning one and a half million people in Gaza during the 22-day Israeli war on the besieged enclave however, today, with Mubarak ousted, the Zionist regime feels naked and goes upset.
The Islamic Revolution Leader said a military hue and cry made by the Zionist authorities against Iran actually exposed their empty hands and fearful state, adding that the regime\\\\\\\'s authorities are well aware that they are now more vulnerable than ever so that any inappropriate action on their part would lash back down on themselves like thunders.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the US and other western powers, as unconditional supporters of the Zionist regime were suffering much unfavorable conditions nowadays due to their economic and social problems, adding that the crisis has become more tangible after the falling from power of several pro-US governments across Europe as well as an ever increasing hatred on the part of nations against the US.
Ayatollah Khamenei cautioned that the west seeks to transfer its own crisis to Asia and Africa, adding that a major western method to transfer its problems was to incite sectarian and religious strife in the Middle Eastern and North African revolutionary countries with a view to develop a counter-movement from inside the very revolutions.
\\\\\\\"Today, Americans have embarked on inciting sectarian and religious conflicts in the revolutionary countries by using the British experiences in such fields; all the nations and their scholars, either Shii or Sunni, must be vigilant not to advance the enemy conspiracy,\\\\\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei urged.
Ayatollah Khamenei reaffirmed however that stability will be restored to the revolutionary countries, especially Egypt and that any dictator regimes will be uprooted from the region.
Ayatollah Khamenei deplored that amid these developments the Bahraini people were suffering double innocence. \\\\\\\"The Bahraini people are simply repressed by a despotic, dictator regime only because they wish to cherish the rudiments of democracy,\\\\\\\" the Islamic Revolution Leader said.
The Islamic Revolution Leader said that all the revolutionary nations would eventually fulfill their goals only if they avoid sectarian or religious conflicts

Victims of the 1988 chemical gas attack in Iraqi Kurdistan are taking legal action against foreign firms. Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein bought tons of chemical weapons from European firms for his assault on Kurdistan\'s Halabja town. The head of Halabja\'s Chemical Victims Society has called on families of victims to file lawsuits against the firms that armed the Iraqi dictator.
In June a group of victims filed a lawsuit against two European firms. Dutch businessman Frans van Anraat sold tons of chemicals used in the Halabja attack.
Halabja\'s genocide victims say they are determined to seek justice from any country and any business involved in selling chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein. But the victims also want to send a clear message against the use of chemical weapons by any country in the future.

Hundreds of Canadians gathered together at the Islamic Society of York Region to honour the great leader who overthrew a dictator and brought about a revolution with the help of the majority of the Iranian nation. Speaking at the conference, world renowned speakers, praised Imam Khomeini\\\'s awakening of the masses against global injustice. Prior to the revolution, the multi-national corporations were exploiting the natural resources of Iran with the help of a very small and corrupt group of traitors. Any protest against the dictator, Reza Shah Pehalavi, was brutally suppressed by the barbaric forces of Savak, which committed atrocious crimes against the population. After the revolution, Iran has progressed by every measure, including women literacy, scientific growth and division of wealth. For the crime of liberating his country and insisting on Iranian resources to be used for the welfare of the Iranian population, Imam Khomeini bore the wrath of the multi-national corporations, the western media and the selected group of Iranians who were accomplices in the criminal exploitation of the resources and had to run away from the country after the revolution.
Speakers at the conference also spoke about how Imam Khomeini inspired the oppressed masses around the world that started a global movement for dignity and self-determination.

Iraqi Journalist Throws Shoes At George Bush AT the press conference on 14th dec 2008. The journalist says in Arabic - It is the farewell kiss you dog
A journalist has thrown a pair of shoes at George W. Bush, as the President arrived in Baghdad on an unannounced farewell visit to Iraq.
The Iraqi journalist threw the shoes, when the US president was shaking hands with the Iraqi prime minister Nuri al-Maliki in his office in Baghdad on Sunday, AFP reported.
The Iraqi who was sitting in the third row 'jumped up' shouting "It is the farewell kiss, you dog," the report says.
He then threw his shoes one after the other towards Bush. The president was reportedly not hurt, as the shoes did not hit him. Iraqi security staff 'frogmarched' the journalist out.
Bush arrived in Baghdad on Sunday on what has been called a farewell trip to a country which has cost the US thousands of military servicemen and billions of dollars.
Five years of invasion has killed tens of thousands of Iraqis, while according to Human Rights Watch during the deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's reign, 250,000 to 290,000 people were killed over 20 years.
