The current spell of miserable weather in the European Union\'s de facto Capital, Brussels, reflects the mood of many EU citizens who have fallen victim to the economic crisis. As the OECD cut its growth forecasts for the Eurozone and urged the European Central Bank to do more, the European Commission was setting out specific economic recommendations for member states. France, Spain, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Poland and Portugal are being given more time to implement painful economic cuts and raise taxes. The Commission's visit is aimed at updating the electoral register in Gaza. The move is key step to pave the way for elections. Days ago, senior Fatah and Hamas officials agreed that electoral commission would soon start work in Gaza. They also agreed to begin consultations to form a new interim government of independents.

The commission has been tasked with investigating and reporting on the events that took place in Bahrain from February 2011. There are concerns that there could be serious political and social ramifications from the serious biases and deficiencies in the report. The commission which has been paid for and set up by the regime that has committed these acts has led to human rights organizations to question its legitimacy. The results of the commission came out on the 23rd of November and the government says it has formed a working group to study the report, which calls for an examination of people's political, economic and social grievances, but opposition parties say no one has contacted them. Questions have arisen on whether any external pressure for reform especially by the US be thwarted by Saudi Arabia who would not want to empower the opposition in Bahrain. It is also important to note that Bahrain hosts the US fifth fleet. In this edition of the show we ask; Bahrain: Is the government serious about reforms?

The annual European Union Budget is worth hundreds of billions of euro and now those in charge of administering it are admitting that huge amounts of taxpayers\' cash are being siphoned off by fraudsters. Member states are failing to adequately deal with the fraud problem so the EU Commission says it is setting up a European Public Prosecutor\'s Office which apparently will take a zero tolerance approach. The Commission estimates that €500m is lost each year through crimes against the EU Budget. At present only 42% of suspected cases are prosecuted. The Commission says the new prosecutor\'s office will pursue approximately 2,500 new cases each year. The office will commence work on the 1st of January 2015. Jerome Hughes, Press TV, Brussels
