In Iran, like other Muslim countries, the fasting month of Ramadan has begun with its special ceremonies and customs. This documentary is about the Iranian fishermen who were kidnapped by Saudi government agents while fishing off the coat of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Following their kidnap and with no information given to anyone about their health or condition, they were convicted - without a lawyer present or anyone who could at least give them information on the allegations against them - to death by execution by the Saudi officials. The crime they were alleged to have been guilty to was drug trafficking into Saudi. A crime that they vehemently deny and the living conditions of their families provides that they could not have been drug traffickers. Subsequently, a number of then were executed in public execution ceremonies by the Saudi officials, and a number of them still await execution. The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has worked tirelessly to try and get information and to secure the release of these innocent fishermen, but the Saudi government and it's officials are not from those who keep their word. Prior to the execution, Saudi Foreign Minister had given his word to the Iranian Foreign ministry that the Iranian fishermen would not be executed. Yet within a very short time from him giving his word, the news of the executions by the Saudi officials came through. This documentary looks at their case, and looks at the impact their imprisonment and in some cases cold blooded state sponsored murder has had on their families and loved ones. In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful The Soldiers of Islam Mourning Committee is an auspicious phenomenon. The idea that our soldiers form mourning committees is a very auspicious and important idea. The pivot of this committee is mourning for Ashura. The other tasks that you referred to are good and necessary subsets, but the pivot is reviving and understanding the depth of Ashura. One point in this regard is that the connection between the words \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"committee\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" and \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"soldiers\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" has an important meaning. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Soldiers\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" means those people who engage in jihad in the face of the enemy. Jihad includes \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"moqatele\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\". \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Moqatele\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" means a military war. Jihad is a combination of different wars such as military wars, intellectual wars, psychological wars and social wars. A combination of these things is jihad and jihad includes all of these wars. One of the characteristics of jihad is the existence of an enemy. Not any effort is called jihad. It is possible that someone engages in scientific work, but this may not be jihadi work. Jihad is a movement which is launched in the face of a hostile act and a hostile enemy. Those people who engage in jihad in the way of God and who enjoy a jihadi characteristic and spirit will realize that this is a real blessing for their hearts and souls. Jihad is necessary because human societies are not devoid of enemies. They may have few or many enemies. Sometimes, like our society, they have many enemies and sometimes they do not. But in any case, they have an enemy. Therefore, if a society has an internal force for confronting the enemy - this force is comprised of soldiers and mujahids - then it can have a feeling of security. But if it does not enjoy this force, then it will be like a body that suffers from lack of white blood-cells which are in charge of fighting against infection. In such circumstances, all kinds of diseases may afflict this society. The effort of this group of people to revive and commemorate Ashura and to mourn for Hussein ibn Ali (a.s.) is very appropriate and necessary. Therefore, the essence of this connection - that is to say, the connection between mourning committees and soldiers - is very blessed and good. You should not abandon this and you should preserve it as much as you can. Another point is that the word \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"heyat\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" [committee] means lack of order in the conventional sense of the word. They say that such and such a person acts in a heyati way. This means that he acts in a disorganized way. Perhaps we can say that you are the first people to impose order on an organization which is disorderly by nature. This is a very good thing. Well, why does the word \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"heyati\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" mean disorderly in the conventional sense of the word? This is because when someone enters an Imam Hussein (a.s.) heyat, no one tells them where to sit and where not to sit and when to come and when to go. All the movements and comings and goings are based on the will of the people and this originates in faith. This is a very good thing and you should preserve it. You should preserve the committee\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s relationship with what people love and believe in. You should preserve the interest that the hearts of people have in this committee. That is to say, it should not be the case that the committee acts in a formal way. In my opinion, the centers that you should work in are Hussainiyahs. You do not need bureaucratic organizations. Hussainiyahs, heyats and mosques are the centers that you should engage in. If we affiliate this committee to an organization and if we specify a multi-storey building for that with bureaucratic equipment, this is not a committee anymore. I fear that it may face certain problems. I am not saying that it will not be a committee, but in my opinion, the nature of such committees requires the enthusiastic participation of the people in mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (a.s.). This is what exerts a powerful effect on them. This is what the Revolution originated from. At least, it can be good ground for growing revolutionary virtues and teachings. The next point which is very important is the issue of nurturing panegyrists and protecting them against errors and mistakes. This is very important. One of our serious problems is really this. Panegyrists have acquired a bad name in this regard, but it is not particular to panegyrists. This issue is not particular to panegyrists and other people in charge of such affairs. It has been witnessed that those people who take the minbar and those who recite eulogies for Ashura - including panegyrists, those who have minbar and other such people - have said inappropriate things. Sometimes you and I have meeting and talk and I may say an inappropriate thing. This is not a problem because it is between you and me. This is not important. But sometimes, we have an audience of one thousand, 10 thousand or 50 thousand people and sometimes, this audience turns into millions of people. In such circumstances, we should see what effect an inappropriate and wrong statement may exert on our audience. A number of people may accept this wrong statement and they may learn a wrong concept. A number of people may reject this statement and they may take an instant dislike towards the essence of religion. Besides, there may be an angry argument between certain groups of people. Notice that certain deviations may emerge as a result of this wrong statement. Since long ago, we have seen that sometimes panegyrists perform rowzas that are obviously wrong, but they continue to perform because in order to make a few people shed tears. This is not particular to the present time. Since I was a child, I have participated in mourning ceremonies and I have listened to people who took the minbar. Should we make people shed tears at any price? You can narrate the event and you can do it in an artistic way in order to produce strong effects on people, but you should not say things which are false. I have heard that, addressing the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) a panegyrist said, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Whatever you have is because of Imam Hussein (a.s.)\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\". Notice how wrong this is. How can someone talk such nonsense about the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.)? Whatever Imam Hussein (a.s.) has is because of the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.). Whatever he has is because of the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.). Why do they not understand such concepts? Besides, they claim that they are good panegyrists and they say whatever crosses their mind. In my opinion, we should attach great significance to such issues. The next point is concerning the issue which was raised by Mr. Nejat as well. He is right. Such committees cannot be secular. We do not have secular Imam Hussein (a.s.) committees. Anyone who is interested in Imam Hussein (a.s.) is also interested in political and jihadi Islam and the kind of Islam which engages in fighting, offering blood and laying down one\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s life. This is the meaning of faith in Imam Hussein (a.s.). If a panegyrist takes care not to enter into political discussions, this is wrong. Of course, this does not mean that whatever political event takes place in the country, we should bring it up in rowzas and we should adopt specific orientations - whether revolutionary or anti-revolutionary - towards it. This is not what I mean, but revolutionary and Islamic thoughts and the auspicious guidelines which Imam (may God bestow paradise on him) formulated in our country should be brought up in such ceremonies. This task is a great and important task. The best people who can perform rowzas for Imam Hussein (a.s.) are mujahids in the way of God and these young soldiers. You should appreciate the value of this and you should provide guidance. This can be a bright and shining spring for enlightening the minds of the people and the audience and it can improve them in terms of Islamic and religious teachings. How good it is to pay attention to the issue of reading the Holy Quran in mourning ceremonies. How good it is to employ Islamic, revolutionary and Quranic concepts in mourning ceremonies. Sometimes, when they mourn, people say certain clichés such as \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Hussein vay\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\". Well, this has no value and one learns nothing from repeating \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Hussein vay\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\". When the audience says such clichés, you can raise revolutionary, Islamic and Quranic issues and issues which are related to the present time. When the audience repeats it, this becomes internalized in their minds. This is very valuable. This is a task that cannot be carried out by anyone except you. No media network can inculcate religious teachings into the minds and the hearts and souls of people. Therefore, this is an important and great task. During the last ten days of the lunar month of Safar, millions of Shia Muslims travel o the holy city of Mashhad in the north east of Iran. In these days, the mourners hold magnificent ceremonies for the departure anniversary of Prophet Mohammad and the martyrdom anniversary of the second Imam of the Shias, Imam Hassan Mujtaba peace be upon them. But the mourning ceremonies reach their peaks on the last day of the lunar month. Iranian Shia Muslims love all their Imams, but they have a special devotion to Imam Reza. On Thursday, the cold weather didn\\\\\\\'t prevent the lovers to go to Mashhad for offering their sincerity. An estimated three million of pilgrims were in his holy shrine to condole these tragic days to the holy presence of Imam Reza. Different ceremonies were held such as chest beating. But those who could not travel to Mashhad, gathered at local mosques and other religious centers in their own cities in commemoration of the event. In Tehran, Imam zadeh Saleh\\\\\\\'s shrine were full of mourners on a snowy day. People from across the capital went to north of Tehran to attend the ceremony. The eighth Imam of Shia Islam, Imam Reza was martyred after being poisoned by the Abbasid Caliph Ma\\\\\\\'mun in the year 818 AD and his holy body was buried in an area, today, known as Mashhad-o-Reza dubbed the place where Reza was martyred.

دیدار كارگزاران حج با رهبر انقلاب http://farsi.khamenei.ir/news-content?id=17451 حضرت آیت‌الله خامنه‌ای رهبر انقلاب اسلامی صبح روز 11 مهر 1390، در دیدار دست‌اندركاران حج امسال، حج را فرصتی بسیار گرانبها و ارزشمند برای ارتباط با امت اسلامی و بهره‌مندی معنوی خواندند و با اشاره به تلاش دشمنان برای اختلاف‌افكنی و مقابله با موج بیداری اسلامی در مراسم حج ، تنها راه غلبه بر این توطئه را نزدیك‌تر شدن دل‌ها و تقویت همدلی دانستند، ایشان همچنین در ادامه با اشاره به فساد بانكی اخیر در كشور، علت وقوع این سوء استفاده را عمل نكردن مسئولان به توصیه‌های مؤكد چند سال پیش رهبری در خصوص مقابله با فساد اقتصادی توصیف و تأكید كردند: مسئولان قضایی ضمن پیگیری قوی، دقیق و عاقلانه قضیه و اطلاع‌رسانی مناسب به مردم، باید دست‌های خائن را قطع كنند. حضرت آیت‌الله خامنه‌ای حج را یكی از رموز اساسی اسلام و میهمانی بزرگ الهی در مركز عظمت و قدرت و جمال و كرَم توصیف كردند و افزودند: باید در بُعد عمومی و بین‌المللی حج، همدلی و تقویت پیوندهای اسلامی بدون در نظر گرفتن ملیت‌ها، قومیت‌ها و مذهب‌ها مورد توجه جدی قرار گیرد و از این فرصت برای نزدیك‌تر شدن دل‌ها استفاده شود. ایشان یكی از ویژگی‌های بارز حج امسال را، بیداری اسلامی در منطقه بویژه مصر، تونس، یمن و بحرین دانستند و تأكید كردند: با توجه به این رویداد مهم، امسال توطئه ایجاد اختلاف و بدبینی و تحریك احساسات میان امت اسلامی، برجسته‌تر خواهد بود و تنها راه غلبه بر این توطئه نزدیك‌تر شدن دل‌ها و تقویت همدلی است. رهبر انقلاب اسلامی با تأكید بر اینكه مسلمانان یك تن واحد هستند، افزودند: حجاج ایرانی باید با چنین نگاه عمومی و جهانی در حج حضور یابند و تجربیات سی ساله خود در مبارزه با استكبار و معاندین را در اختیار ملت‌های تازه انقلاب كرده، قرار دهند. حضرت آیت‌الله خامنه‌ای، رفتار خوب و همراه با ادب و احترام را از دیگر نكات ضروری برای حجاج ایرانی برشمردند و خاطرنشان كردند: حج فرصتی گرانبها برای پاكیزه شدن از آلودگی‌های دنیا و مجموعه‌ای از فرائض است كه باید ضمن قدر دانستن این مراسم عظیم و كم‌نظیر، در حفظ ذخایر معنوی بدست آمده آن هم همت كرد. ایشان زائران بیت‌الله‌الحرام را به آماده‌سازی درونی خود، قبل از سفر حج و آماده شدن برای این میهمانی الهی توصیه كردند و افزودند: حاجی ایرانی باید با رفتار خود در حج، ملت، كشور و نظام جمهوری اسلامی ایران را در چشم دنیا سربلند كند. رهبر انقلاب اسلامی حجاج را به پرهیز از رفتارهای سبك توصیه و خاطرنشان كردند: یكی از این رفتارهای سبك، عطش بازارگردی است كه علاوه بر اینكه ارز كشور را برای خرید كالاهای بی‌كیفیت به هدر می‌دهد، فرصت ارزشمند عبادت و بهره‌مندی معنوی را نیز از بین می‌برد. http://english.khamenei.ir//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1533&Itemid=2 Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Monday morning with the officials in charge of hajj affairs. He further described hajj as a great divine celebration which takes place at the center of glory, power and magnificence. \"Regarding the general and international dimension of hajj, it is necessary to pay serious attention to solidarity and strengthening Islamic bonds without taking nationalities, ethnicities and denominations into consideration. This opportunity should be used to make hearts get closer to one another.\" The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that Muslims are a unified entity and added: \"Iranian pilgrims should take part in hajj ceremonies with this general and global outlook and they should let the nations that have recently carried out a revolution benefit from their thirty years of experience in fighting the arrogant powers and the enemies.\" His Eminence called on hajj pilgrims to prepare themselves spiritually before taking part in hajj ceremonies and added: \"With their behavior during hajj, Iranian pilgrims should make the world hold the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic of Iran in high regard.\" Elsewhere in his statements, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the recent economic corruption and reminded government officials to combat economic corruption in a decisive way. \"Government officials welcomed confronting economic corruption, but if they had acted on my recommendations, we would never have had events like the recent banking embezzlement.\" The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that it is necessary to prevent corruption from becoming deep-rooted and added that it becomes very difficult to uproot corruption once it becomes deep-rooted. He assured the people that the three branches of government are determined to confront the recent event and to prevent similar events and said that government officials in the executive, legislative and judiciary branches are doing their duty.\" The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that it inadvisable to create uproar which may prompt others to take advantage of this issue. However, he assured the people that government officials will follow up the issue until the end and that they will cut off the treacherous hands. His Eminence emphatically urged the judiciary to keep the people updated about the case and stressed: \"The judiciary system must not have mercy on wrong-doers, vandals and corrupt individuals.\" Iran\'s judiciary is investigating the recent large embezzlement case and has issued arrest warrants for a number of suspects. Also a number of bank managers have been fired. Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei Iran\'s Prosecutor General, who has been put in charge of the embezzlement case by the Judiciary Chief, has announced that the case is being investigated swiftly and decisively. He has also said that the culprits will be severely punished. Iran\'s Judiciary Chief Sadeq Larijani has stressed that the judiciary system will follow up the issue decisively. He has also said that the judiciary has been investigating the embezzlement case for almost two months.

Some people have turned Majalis (mourning ceremonies for Ahlulbayt) into rituals only. Others perform them for reward in the hereafter only. They have failed to comprehend the real value and effectiveness that these mourning events hold in changing the destiny of the Muslim Ummah. These tears that we shed have the potential to turn into a flood that can drown the oppressors, tyrants, and Yazids of all times. These chest beatings have the potential to be a slap on the face of the arrogant powers. Unfortunately, some people have failed to realize what the Imams of Ahlulbayt (A) wanted us to accomplish through these Majalis. Imam Khomeini understood well the potential that these mourning ceremonies hold. He gave it direction and the Iranian nation accepted it. The result is the establishment of Islamic Government. How long is it going to take for the believers across the world to realize the true potential of these Majalis?

Our condolences to the believers all across the world upon these days of Muharram and the commemoration of the mission and martyrdom of the Master of Martyrs, Imam Husayn (A). What are the months in the Islamic calendar that have resulted in the safety and protection of Islam? And what is the importance of mentioning the sufferings of the Ahl al-Bayt (A)? And in what manner must one conduct these mourning ceremonies where the sufferings of the Ahl al-Bayt (A) are mentioned? And what act of Imam Husayn (A) has kept Islam alive? What should the speakers and orators of the mourning ceremonies speak about? Finally, what do we need the people to be prepared for? The esteemed Imam Ruhollah Khomeini (R) highlights that we need to prepare the people for sacrifice. Imam Khomeini (R) answers the question: \"Should The Traditional Azadari Continue?\". We Are The Nation of Martyrdom. We Are The Nation of Imam Husayn.

The martyrdom and mission of Imam Husayn (A) has brought forth countless people that are perfumed with the fragrance of Imam Husayn (A). And along these very lines, Islamic Pulse is humbled to present yet another follower of Imam Husayn (A), in the blessed months of sacrifice, the months of Muharram and Safar. What kind of mourning ceremony and Majlis should we conduct and should we encourage in our societies, all across the world? And what should the mourning ceremonies of Imam Husayn (A) provide us all with? Finally, and yet most unfortunately, what has the Minbar, the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah (S), being sometimes used for in these very mourning ceremonies for Imam Husayn (A)?
