Tens of thousands of protesters crowded central London on Saturday to protest government cuts to public services, streaming in from around the country with banners, balloons and whistles. Organisers of the march estimated that at least 100,000 people were joining in the demonstration, what the Trade Union Council called the largest civil society demonstration in years. Police say some protesters have thrown paint bombs and light bulbs filled with ammonia at officers. A group of black-clad demonstrators also threw paint bombs at shops and banks on the main shopping streets of Oxford Street and New Bond Street. The group had broken away from the larger march organized by the TUC to protest against government cuts to public services.

Fresh bloodshed in Iraq. At least 42 people have been killed in a series of bombings in different parts of Baghdad.
Nearly a dozen explosives-laden cars went off in five different areas across Baghdad province. The explosives targeted busy streets and markets in mainly Shia-populated districts and left 80 people injured. The deadliest attack was in the town of Nahrawan, south of the capital where two bombs killed seven people. Sunday\'s blasts bring to over 610 the number of Iraqis who\'ve been killed so far this month. The Arab country has been hit by fresh violence since the beginning of 2013. Based on official estimates, more than 5300 people-- mostly civilians, have lost their lives this year.

Knowledge, science, scientific development, and scientific progress is a blessing for humanity. But with one condition, that is, the \"right culture\". If science develops in the hands of warmongers and ruthless individuals, systems or countries, who are after gaining power and control, it is disastrous and detrimental for the whole humanity. We witness this in the case of atomic and nuclear weapons.
What is Islam\'s stance on such dangerous weapons? Does Islam allow the building and preservation of nuclear bombs and weapons?
The Leader speaks.

The U.S. is apparently shipping large quantities of bunker-busting bombs to a British territory. A Scottish newspaper claims the ordinance, which was widely used in the Iraq invasion, is being sent to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. And it's raising fears American forces could be preparing an attack on Iran. Let's talk more on this now with nuclear disarmament activist Alan Mackinnon.
