The United States and its allies entered the war in Afghanistan in October 2001 as part of Washington\'s so-called war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but after more than 11 years, the foreign troops have still not been able to establish security in the country. The foreign troops are scheduled to leave Afghanistan by the end of 2014. However, there are still more than 100,000 US-led troops (67,000 US troops and 37,000 coalition forces) in the country.
Press TV\'s The Debate has conducted an interview with Tighe Barry, political activist and member of CODEPINK from Washington.

With each year the American dollar is shrinking in percentage as the world\\\\\\\'s currency supply. The implications could mean a serious decrease in the dollar\\\\\\\'s influence as countries around the world look for alternatives. When compared to other prominent world currencies, the dollar has been experiencing a 15-year low. That\\\\\\\'s according to the International Monetary Fund. And, this indicates that more countries are willing to use other forms of currencies to do business. Experts say it\\\\\\\'s a fault of the US banking system and the Federal Reserve. If the dollar weakens in influence worldwide, it will be harder for the US to print money and pay its debts. In addition, looming battles over budget sequestration in Washington could rekindle long-standing fears of fiscal stability.

Georgia is considered one of the closest US allies, but it is also a country having visa free travel rules and friendly relations with Iran. Farhad Shademan is one of Iranian nationals, who came to visit Georgia three years ago and decided to stay here. The reason behind his decision was a low living cost compared to other countries and opportunities to start a business with a little money. Since then, he has run a small cafe in the center of Tbilisi. An increase in number of Iranian businesses recently opened in Georgia, has raised US suspicions over the matter. Delegations from U-S Treasury have visited Tbilisi in recent months to discuss importance of combating those activities.

Afghans have a date now for their next Presidential election. It is April 5th of 2014. And voter registration for it has already started. It is moving very smoothly so far. This comes as insecurity still remains a big challenge for the electoral people here but not for the political figures. It is much more the interference of the US that has made them worried. Belqis Roshan is one of them. She is a member of parliament here. But the US has a bigger plan in mind. President Karzai has told this to these tribal elders in his place. He said the Americans opened a political office for the Taliban in Qatar to create ethnic tensions and disintegrate Afghanistan.
