[19 June 2012] Russia supports Iran is nuclear program - English
A spokesman for the European Union's chief negotiator, Catherine Ashton, says multifaceted talks between Iran and the world powers in Moscow are progressing in a calm and positive atmosphere.
Michael Mann noted that today's talks between Iran and the P5+1 -- the US, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany -- are progressing in a calm and positive atmosphere and there is easy interaction between the two sides.
Iran and the P5+1 launched the third round of their new series of talks in the Russian capital of Moscow on Monday.
The two sides held three sessions of plenary talks in Baghdad in late May after an earlier round of negotiations in the Turkish city of Istanbul in mid-April.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Vladimir Sotnikov, senior researcher at the institute of oriental studies, Russian Academy of Science, from Moscow, to further discuss the issue.

[07 July 2012] Geneva Meeting Clear or Cloudy Sky over Syria - English
The latest meeting in Geneva on the current situation in Syria seems to lack executive mechanism as well as true will for its implementation. The special UN-envoy Kofi Annan says the meetings have not helped his plan, while the Syrian opposition outside the country has failed to form a unified political stance.
Russia accuses the United States and its Western allies of trying to distort a previous deal reached by world powers on Syria in the Geneva meeting. On June 30, an agreement was made during the Geneva meeting on a Syrian-led transitional governing body that "could include members of the present government and the opposition and other groups, and shall be formed on the basis of mutual consent."

[18 July 2012] Should Africans support Iran in the face of western economic imperialism - English
Kenya, Tanzania, Sierra Leone and a host of African nations have been threatened with sanctions if the import oil from Iran. Some of them rely on Iranian oil because of the flexibility in payment.
In Tanzania, Iranian embassy and a shipping agent in Dubai had to assure the country that no Iranian ships have been re-flagged to dodge sanctions to import oil to the East African nation.
Kenya has cancelled plans to import crude oil from Iran following threats of sanctions, an official at the Kenyan energy ministry has said.
The outline deal signed last month was to import about 4 Million tonnes of oil from the Iranian National Oil Company.
But the US embassy in Nairobi had warned it was important to cut revenue to the Iranian government.

On the 12th of July 2006, following the kidnapping of the two Israeli soldiers by the Resistance, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah held a press conference in Beirut, in which he advised the Zionist officials that were present in 2006, that before thinking about declaring war on Lebanon, they should ask the former Israeli heads of state and ministers about their past experiences in Lebanon.
Ofcourse, the Israeli Winograd Commission (the director of which can be seen towards the end) found that Israel had lost the war, as Israel had failed to achieve its objectives in Lebanon, first of which was to completely wipe out the Resistance. Not only did this not happen, but Hezbollah is believed today to be several times more powerful than it was during the war in 2006.

[29 July 2012] West Bank under fire - Remember Palestine - English
A number of NGOs including UNICEF and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights as well as Palestinian Al Haq and the Israeli Yesh Din, issued yet another statement on the continued rise in settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The statement which states there has been an astounding 150% increase in settler violence since 2009 comes just a few days after a lethal attack on a Palestinian who was repeatedly stabbed by settlers after just being shot by Israeli soldiers.
A report from the Palestine Center published this year identifies three potential causes for settler violence; it\'s response to Israeli government actions; it\'s a product of demographics and security arrangements; it is a response to Palestinian violence. The report also states that while Israeli settler violence is not new, the extent and frequency with which it is perpetrated today is new.
