[05 June 2012] Clashes continue in Northern Lebanon - English
A day of mourning in the Northern Lebanese city of Tripoli following clashes described as the deadliest in decades. 15 people killed and tens wounded after rival pro and anti Syrian Lebanese groups faced off for the second time in less than a month.
Despite a cautious calm following two days of warfare, life was far from normal in the neighborhoods of Jabal Mohsen and Bab -Al-Tabaneh. Most shops remain closed and tensions remain high between the Allawite pro-Syrian and Sunni anti-Syrian neighborhoods. With each side blaming the other for instigating the violence, sectarianism has reached its peak and hence the worse is probably yet to come.

A coup or not a coup, this is the question many are asking about what has taken place in Egypt. As the democratically-elected government of President Mohammed Morsi has been overturn by the military and replace by interim President Adly Mansour, it looks, smells and appears to have been a coup d\\\\\\\'etat. Morsi\\\\\\\'s opponents have had serious complaints against him. They charge that he failed to realize the goals of the revolution.
What is next now in Egypt as protests continue to take place throughout the country of pro and anti? This after a violent day that saw at least 36 people killed.

More tensions along the border between India and Pakistan; at least a dozen people have been injured as the two sides exchange fire over the Kashmir border.
Several children were among those injured. The fresh round of violence started at border posts along the frontier on Thursday. Pakistani officials have accused Indian troops of initiating the violence by firing along the frontier and injuring two people. Similarly, India has accused the Pakistani side of violating the ceasefire by firing mortars on at least 50 Indian border posts. Skirmishes along the border have intensified despite the first face-to-face meeting between the Pakistani prime minister and his Indian counterpart in New York last month.

Tensions between Ukraine, Europe and Russia are running high over Kiev\'s decision to suddenly scrap plans to sign a deal with the European Union. Russia is now accusing the Europeans of blackmailing Kiev to sign an association agreement with the EU.
The Russian president says the E-U is using threats and pressure to shift Ukraine out of Russia\'s orbit. Vladimir Putin has also criticized the E-U for supporting protests against scrapping the deal. Putin made the comments shortly after the E-U accused Kiev of bowing to Russian pressure. On Thursday, Ukraine suspended signing the association agreement with Europe, citing economic concerns and trade issues with Russia. The decision has sparked protests in Kiev. Demonstrators have taken to the streets to oppose the government move, with the opposition leaders joining the rallies.
