Turkish police have used water cannons and smoke grenades against Kurdish protesters angry at Ankara\'s plans to erect a wall near the border with Syria. The clashes took place in the south-eastern Kurdish town of Jizre. Kurdish protesters say the wall divides them from family members on the Syrian side of the border. Turkey began the construction of the wall last month in Nusaybin, a border district north of the Syrian town of Qamishli. Ankara says it\'s concerned with the spillover of violence from northern Syria. However, the Turkish government is a staunch supporter of insurgents in Syria providing them with arms, training and shelter.

Still with Turkey, riot police have used water cannon and smoke grenade to disperse thousands of Kurdish protesters marching on the Syrian border. The march in the eastern province of Jiz-reh was in solidarity with Syrian Kurds. Demonstrations started peacefully when thousands gather to attend a rally organized by pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party. But clashes broke out when they marched on the Syrian border and crossed into the Arab country. Kurds\' assertiveness during the Syrian conflict has put Turkey in a tough position to deal with the militants from Kurdish Workers Party-- the P-K-K. Ankara has been engaged in a peace process with the P-K-K during the past year despite designating them as a terrorist group. Turkey has also been a main supporter of the insurgency in Syria which has negatively affected the lives of Kurds there.

Curry ingredients: 1 med onion 3 fresh roma tomatoes 2 mild or hot jalapenos upon your taste 1 tbs turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp of salt dried parsley for garnish 1 cup heavy whipping cream 1 13.4 oz can of coconut milk Italian parsley chopped for garnish 1 charcoal used to smoke the curry (optional) Method: Put 2 tbsp olive oil in a sauce pan, while that gets warm put the diced onion, diced tomatoes, diced jalapenos and the whipping cream in the blender and blend until everything is blended well, than pour the paste in the sauce pan and cook for about a minute. Sprinkle the turmeric in there as well as 1/2 tsp of salt, make sure you do a taste test, This would be a good time to put the charcoal on the stove so its fully lighted by the time your curry is ready. Check on the chicken if the chicken is cooked through turn the broiler on and charbroil the chicken and add it to the coconut curry then put the charcoal on the foil and add a little olive oil and cover the sauce pan, depending on how strong you want the barbecue flavor to be will determine on how long you leave the charcoal in the curry. Finally sprinkle with fresh and dried parsley Serve and enjoy!!

It is the worst air pollution, or haze as it\'s known, in Malaysia in 16 years. But the reason for the thick smog which has blanketed much of the country is the same as last time - smoke from illegal burning to clear land that has blown across from the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The Malaysian government has declared an emergency in some areas where the air quality has reached hazardous levels, including ordering schools to close.

Australian officials are warning that wildfires in New South Wales could merge to create a mega-fire. They say 58 blazes are still alight in the state, with over a dozen reportedly out of control. A thick white smoke haze is now threatening Sydney. People have been warned to stay indoors and avoid exercising. A state of emergency has been declared in New South Wales since yesterday. Temperatures are expected to rise which will make firefighting more difficult. Hot and dry winds are also expected to intensify in the coming days. The bushfires that started on Thursday have caused massive damage in the Blue Mountains area. More than 200 homes have been destroyed and thousands of people forced out of their their homes. Firefighters say this is the most serious wildfire emergency in 40 years.
