[22 July 2012] Al Saud crackdown fuel uprising Zayd al Isa - English
A cleric who participated in protests for change in Saudi Arabia has been detained and allegedly tortured in custody by the regimes forces.
The family members of prominent detained Saudi Shia cleric Sheikh Nemr al-Nemr say he has been badly tortured in jail.
On Sunday, the family members were allowed to visit Sheikh Nemr, who has been on a hunger strike since July 19.
His sister said the detained cleric had turned weaker and that signs of torture were seen on his head.
The family visited him for the second time since his arrest earlier in July. They were allowed to visit him for the first time on July 15.
Sheikh Nemr was attacked, injured and arrested by the security forces of the Al Saud regime while driving from a farm to his house in the Qatif region of Eastern Province on July 8.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Zayd al-Isa, Middle East expert from London about the incident involving Sheikh Nemr al-Nemr and Saudi government forces.

A statement of libral MP Jim karygiannis was read out by his associate at Queens Park 25AUG2012 Toronto Protest for the Genocide committed against the Rohingya's Muslims in Burma (Myanmar) by Rakhine Buddhist Extremist Elements and the racist security forces. protest was organized by The Rohingya Association of Canada.
The Rohingya Association of Canada requests the Canadian Government to:
1. Take urgent action at the UN Security Council to address the humanitarian crisis in Burma in order to pressure the Burmese regime to stop all atrocities against the Rohingyas.
2. Call on the United Nations to:
• Deploy an international panel of observers to monitor the volatile region.
• Investigate human rights abuses and the murder of innocent Muslims in Burma.
3. Direct Canada's Department of External Affairs to urge the Bangladeshi government to:
• Open Bangladesh borders to the Rohingyas fleeing sectarian violence and abuses by the Burmese security forces in Arakan State in western Myanmar.
• Immediately lift restrictions on international organizations providing aid to more than 200,000 Rohingyas in Bangladesh.
The Rohingya Association of Canada demands the following from the Burmese Government:
1. Independent international commission of inquiry must be allowed to probe current Arakan crisis and bring the perpetrators to justice.
2. Allow international relief organizations to provide open access to the region and distribute urgently needed humanitarian aid to the victims.
3. Provide security for the Rohingya who are at the mercy of Rakhine extremist elements and the racist security forces.
4. Allow fair and balanced coverage of the situation by the mainstream media.
5. Repeal the unjust 1982 Citizenship Law that aimed to cleanse Rohingya from Arakan and Burma, and restore their full rights as Burmese citizens as it was before 1962
6. Government & International Organization should help rebuild the houses, businesses and places of worship of the Rohingyas.
7. Rohingyas should be allowed back to the land they owned in order to prevent illegal settlers from occupying and taking it away.

Koobideh Kabob Recipe:
This is sister\'s Sameera and Sepeedeh\'s recipe
I made some changes in the recipe on the video!
8 Servings
Ingredients:
2 lb of the ground lamb or beef (my mom says it would be best if you have a mix of both types of meat)
2 onions grated and strained (mom says its really important to make sure there is no onion juice. Squeeze all the juice as much as possible before adding)
1 large egg (beaten)
5 medium tomatoes to be used for later when grilling or baking
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper tablespoon (optional)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, mom adds it in sometimes. Also if you wanna add fresh garlic, ground 2 cloves into meat mixture.)
Directions:
Mix meat, onions, egg, salt and pepper(s) wellz Make sure to massage it throughly. Leave in the refrigerator overnight (or for several hours but its best to leave it for longer).
Press the meat around long, thick metal skewers. This is the difficult part. Make sure not to put too much meat on each skewer. It\'s taken lots of practice for my mom to perfect how much meat to put on each one. Make sure the skewers are thick as well. If they\'re too thin, the meat won\'t hold. Thread whole tomatoes on another skewer. Barbeque each side for about five minutes, turning frequently. If skewers are not available or barbequing is not possible, kabab-e koobideh can be shaped into long, thin portions on aluminum foil and grilled at high temperature in the oven.
Serve with hot Saffron rice or on middle-eastern bread. If serving with rice, add a little sumac on top.
This dish goes really well with the rice dish, so make sure you check out this link!

The Shia and Sunni Canadian Muslims have gathered here today in Calgary downtown to express our extreme anguish and sorrow at the genocide of Pakistani citizens by a small group of terrorists. This representative gathering of Shia and Sunni and community organizations in Calgary has adopted the following resolutions:
1. We express our complete solidarity with the victims of the barbaric massacre in Abbas Town and with all the Shia and Sunni victims of the on-going genocide in Pakistan.
2. We strongly condemn the lack of action by the government of Pakistan which has allowed the foreign-sponsored terrorists of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and other puppet organizations to brutally murder tens of thousands of Pakistani citizens with impunity. The citizens lost to this brutal assassination campaign are greater than the number of citizens killed in many armed conflicts between countries.
3. We strongly condemn the criminal negligence and complicity of the government of Pakistan evident by the fact that despite the large number of innocent civilians that have been massacred, not even a single murderer has been held accountable.
4. We strongly reject attempts by the intelligence agencies of United States of America through their Saudi and Pakistani counterparts to divide the Pakistani Muslims on sectarian lines by sponsoring extremist organizations and divisive forces. We, the Shias and Sunnis are united in condemning these terrorists and the shameful lack of action by the government of Pakistan which has surrendered to the foreign interests rather than performing its duty towards its citizens.
5. We demand an immediate operation in the country to hold these culprits accountable for their crimes against humanity.
6. We strongly condemn the burning of Christian houses in Lahore today by extremists.
What would it take for the Pakistani government to change its shameful lack of action? How many more orphans and widows will it take before the government conducts an operation against these murderers committing war crimes against innocent Pakistani citizens? These foreign funded terrorists are unable to operate in many other nations due to a respectable, dignified and independent government, loyal to its citizens; why have the Pakistani government officials surrendered to foreign pressures? Why are they allowing their brothers and sisters and neighbours to be massacred?
We Shia and Sunni and community organizations in Calgary demand immediate action by the government to arrest and punish the perpetrators of the Abbas Town massacre and the individuals responsible for killings across Pakistan.
