Human rights groups in Egypt have condemned a new law on protests, saying it will restrict the right to peaceful assembly.
Based on the new law, which was signed by the interim President Adly Mansour, protesters will have to receive permission from police in advance before staging any protests. The new law comes only days after the interim government allowed security forces to enter university campuses without prior permission. Meanwhile, Egyptian students have once again taken to the streets in the capital Cairo to demand an end to the military rule. Demonstrators were marking 100 days since security forces broke up sit-ins calling for ousted president Mohamed Morsi\'s reinstatement. The ensuing violence left hundreds dead. Tensions in Egypt have been running high since Morsi was ousted by the military in early July.

Fresh anti-government protests are underway in Egypt, a day after deadly clashes between police and demonstrators.
One student protester has been killed in the capital Cairo. Clashes broke out after students in Al-Azhar University staged a protest against the military-installed government. They even set the Faculty of Commerce on fire. On Friday, five people were killed as police fired tear gas and birdshots at protesters. The opposition Anti-Coup Alliance-- led by the Muslim Brotherhood, has now called for seven days of street protests. The call came just one day after the interim government declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

Protests continue in Cairo\\\'s Al-Azhar University despite the Egyptian army\\\'s harsh crackdown and mass arrests of pro-Morsi demonstrators.
Students have now been demonstrating on the university campus for four consecutive days. Security forces have used tear gas to disperse the crowds. Students are protesting against the army-backed government, the upcoming constitutional referendum and the ban on The Muslim Brotherhood. Saturday\\\'s killing of two students has also fuelled anti-government sentiment. Egypt has been witnessing mass rallies since former president Mohamed Morsi was ousted by the army in July. Last week, the interim-government designated The Muslim Brothers a terrorist organization. Now it says protests are banned in universities, unless permission has been obtained from the Interior Ministry.

Funerals for protesters killed after a day of violent protests on Friday were held by grieving relatives in Baghdad and Najaf.
Across the country, at least 40 protesters died, as demonstrators vented their frustration at political elites who they say have failed to improve their lives after years of conflict and economic hardship.
More than 2,000 people were injured nationwide in those protests, according to medical sources and the Iraqi High Commission on Human Rights (IHCHR).
The latest bloodshed was the second major bout of violence this month. A series of clashes two weeks ago between protesters and security forces left 157 people dead and over 6,000 wounded.
Hundreds of protesters gathered again on Saturday in central Baghdad in what is due to be another day of mass demonstrations. Parliament was set to meet on Saturday in an emergency session to discuss protesters\' demands.

Massive anti-US rallies held in Pakistan
Thousands of people have held anti-US demonstrations across Pakistan to protest an American court's verdict against a female Pakistani scientist.
The protests on Friday come after a New York court sentenced 38-year-old Aafia Siddiqui to 86 years in prison. Hundreds of police officers were deployed across the capital Islamabad to stop angry protesters from marching into the US Embassy.
In Siddiqui's hometown of Karachi, police fired tear gas to prevent protesters from moving towards the US consulate.
In Multan, scores of activists including lawyers blocked traffic.
Siddiqui has been found guilty of allegedly trying to kill FBI agents and US military service members in Afghanistan.
Human rights groups argue that she was kidnapped and held in secret US prisons abroad.
Political activists and Siddiqui's relatives have strongly criticized the US justice system for its handling of the case.
The Islamabad government says it will petition Washington to secure the repatriation of the mother of three on humanitarian grounds.

After the Egyptian revolution brought down Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule, a new day for Egypt is settling in and making way for Political change.
Though Dr. Essam al-Arian believes the army is taking steps in the right direction, he wants to see all members of the old regime out.
The Muslim Brotherhood is currently organizing a new political party and plans to participate in a pluralist government. They will not submit a candidate for president.
Dr. Essam Al-arian believes that Egypt must focus on its Domestic issues first, but would also like to see the nation's relationship with Israel change.
Ahmed Salah is an Independent Political Analyst who's building grassroots democratic institutions throughout the country. He says it is too soon to know how much support the Muslim Brotherhood truly has.
Though the Muslim Brotherhood were not behind the protests that led to the end of Hosni Mubarak's presidency, for decades they stood as the largest opposition and biggest threat to the Mubarak regime.
