Human Rights Watch says Bahraini security forces have often used disproportionate amounts of tear gas in their crackdown on anti-regime protests.
The rights group cites a document released by a Bahrain rights watch which says the Interior Ministry issued a tender back in June for supplies of one-point-six million tear gas canisters and 145000 stun grenades. The number of tear gas shells appears to be greater than the country\'s population of 1-point-2 million of which nearly 560-thousand are Bahraini nationals. This means that almost three tear gas canisters have been bought for every Bahraini civilian. South Korea and a joint South African-German company are the main suppliers of tear gas to the Persian Gulf kingdom, which has been cracking down on peaceful protests since early 2011. Bahraini protesters have been seeking the downfall of the ruling Al Khalifah monarchy.

Anger continues to prevail in Pakistan over the U-S assassination drone campaign there. Pakistan\'s main opposition now urges the government to officially block the supply routes for US-led NATO forces in Afghanistan.
The Jamaat-e-Islami chief called it the best time to pressure Washington into putting an end to its deadly aerial attacks. He says the closure of routes could prove a serious disruption as US-led forces prepare for a planned withdrawal from Afghanistan next year. The statements came as protesters in northwestern Pakistan continued the blockade of NATO supplies to Afghanistan. The decision to halt the supplies was taken last week by a regional government controlled by Imran Khan\'s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party. Pakistan is the main supply route for foreign forces in landlocked Afghanistan.

No word on casualties yet in the protest rally near the headquarters of the Defense Ministry. Egypt has been the scene of almost daily protests by opponents of the July 3rd military ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi. Large numbers of people have been killed in security forces\' crackdowns ever since. Many Egyptian officials and supporters of Muslim Brotherhood, on whose ticket Morsi won last year\'s presidential election, have also been arrested and put on trial.

Thousands of Yemenis have held demonstrations over the deteriorating security situation in the country.
In Sana\'a, huge crowds took to the streets after Friday Prayers. The protesters criticized the government for failing to protect the nation from persistent attacks and targeted assassinations. A demonstration was also held in the western city of Saada. Yemen has been hit by a wave of shootings and assassination attempts on political and security officials over the past year. Over 90 army officers and security officials have been assassinated by unidentified gunmen in the past seven months. Earlier this month, an attack on a hospital inside the country\'s defense ministry left scores of people dead and wounded. In addition, many foreign journalists and diplomats have been kidnapped and held for ransom by gunmen.

Meanwhile, thousands of people have taken to the streets of Rome to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Enrico Letta\'s government.
The protesters, who\'re angry over the government\'s harsh austerity measures and high unemployment, called for fresh elections. They also accused the ruling class of corruption. The relatively calm protest turned violent after the demonstrators broke a journalist\'s camera, accusing them of being terrorists. The rally was organized by the anti-European Forconi or Pitchfork movement, which has been demanding more national sovereignty and lower taxes. The movement initially started as a farmers\' movement and was later joined by truck drivers and students. The Italian president has warned that failure to swiftly introduce reforms to help struggling citizens could plunge the country into violent social unrest.

An anti-government protest rally was held near the defense ministry headquarters in Cairo. Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse hundreds of pro-Morsi students who had blocked a nearby road. Similar clashes broke out between police and pro-Morsi students in the Nile Delta city of Zakazik. The protesters demand Morsi\'s reinstatement. Egypt has seen deadly protests following Morsi\'s ouster by the military back in July.

Unemployed youths and activists along with members of a student group known as the February 20 Movement gathered outside parliament in the capital Rabat. They waved banners and chanted slogans against what they call corruption, injustice and despotism. Scores of protesters have been arrested since Morocco\'s pro-reform movement began in 2011. Israeli forces have stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the East Jerusalem al-Quds to disperse Palestinian protesters there. This comes ahead of discussions in the Israeli parliament later today on a plan to annex the holy site. Some reports suggest that at least 20 Palestinians have been injured and three others arrested in the crackdown. The Al-Aqsa compound is Islam\'s third-holiest site after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. In recent months, Israeli forces and settlers have stepped up their attacks on the mosque, leading to violent confrontations between the two sides. Back in 2000, a provocative visit to the site by former Israeli premier Ariel Sharon triggered a second Intifada or uprising during which thousands of Palestinians were killed and injured.
