At least one demonstrator has been killed in fresh clashes between Iraqi security forces and anti-government protesters in the western Anbar province. The clashes were triggered after local police moved in to dismantle the main anti-government protest site in the city of Ramadi. The operation follows a deal with religious leaders and tribal sheikhs. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki earlier referred to the protest site as the headquarters of the al-Qaeda leadership. Sunni Muslim protesters have been campaigning against the government since last December. They claim they\\\'re facing a second-class treatment at the hands of the Shia majority. There\\\'s been a surge in terrorist attacks and bombings across Iraq over the past year. Authorities believe that the escalating violence is aimed at creating sectarian strife in the country.

In Syria, insurgent groups continue to fight one another. A group calling itself the Islamic Front has killed and captured a number of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant insurgents in the town of Al-Nairab. The Islamic Front, which is the biggest insurgent alliance, had earlier announced that it would fight against the group. Earlier in the day, Al-Qaeda-linked militants killed at least 50 rival insurgents. The insurgents were killed in attacks, car bombings, and summary executions by militants loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, also known as the ISIL. It was the third day of infighting, which began when militants of the so-called Free Syrian Army attacked checkpoints and bases manned by the ISIL. Previously, the clashes were mostly in the northern provinces of Aleppo and Idlib, but opposition sources say the fighting has now spread to the east.

In Syria, more than one-thousand militants have been killed in fierce clashes among militant groups over the past days. The battles are the latest in fighting that has raged among insurgent groups opposed to the Syrian government in recent months. This comes ahead of the much-expected international peace conference, the Geneva-two, which is due to take place next week.

In egypt, one student protester is killed and several others are injured in clashes with army supporters at the Cairo University\'s main campus. In another incidence of violence in the capital, a group of students attacked the administrative office\'s gates of the Ain el-Shams University. All this after a two-day constitutional referendum that was hoped to end the deadly clashes across the country. The vote was boycotted by supporters of Egypt\'s former president Mohamed Morsi and opponents of the government. Although vote-counting is still underway, some Egyptian officials have claimed the turnout has exceeded fifty percent of eligible voters.

Iran\'s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the assassination of one of its diplomats in Yemen as an inhuman and terrorist act. The ministry has said in a statement that the murder of Abol-Qassem Assadi further revealed the violent and extremist nature of Takfiri militants. Iran has summoned the Yemeni chargé d\'affaires to protest the killing. It has promised to pursue the case and bring the perpetrators to justice. Assadi who was shot by gunmen in Sana\'a died of his wounds on Saturday. Six members of a terrorist group first tried to kidnap Iran\'s commercial attaché but opened fire on him, when they faced resistance.

As if the Syrian talks in Geneva did not face enough challenges, a new one came into the picture, when US Congress approved continued support for what it called moderate Syrian rebels, raising the question again about a good and a bad terrorist. At least one Egyptian protester has been killed in an anti-government demonstration in the center of the country. Officials say the 18-year-old student was shot and killed by the security forces in the city of Deir Mawas in Minya province. The demonstration, organized by supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, was held to commemorate Egypt\'s Student Day and denounce a decision to delay the start of the academic year. The demonstrators were also angry about the possibility that army chief Marshal Sisi may run for president. Similar demonstrations were also held in Alexandria, Monufia, Ismailiyah, Suez, and Cairo. The security forces fired tear gas and birdshot at protesters in those cities.

According to Egypt State Information Service, this rare phenomenon happens on February 22 and October 22, the day King Ramses II ascended to the throne and the day of his birth respectively.

Abu Bakr Saddique was raised by a woman known around the city of Buffalo, NY as a champion of human rights and a helper of the poor. He says his mother’s character and behavior in situations like this prepared the ground for his eventual conversion to Islam. Saddique first learned about the religion in fourth grade. “There was Niagara Street Library. I got a book on the Crusades about Richard the Lionheart. That peaked my interest in Islam because they couldn’t say anything about Salahuddin Ayyubi not being good. I saw Muslims in the 50s – some NOI (Nation of Islam), some orthodox. Malcolm X also used to come to Buffalo a lot in the 50s and 60s”.
