Latest market data show India has drastically increased oil imports from Iran-- in a clear proof of Iran\'s success in defying sanctions that have targeted its oil trade. Figures show India imported about 200-thousand barrels per day of Iranian oil in September. This is roughly twice the figure for August. Earlier, similar market data showed that Iran had succeeded in becoming the top oil exporter to China in September after a series of slowdowns over the past months. Iran\'s Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh had earlier said that serious plans were on agenda to boost the country\'s oil exports by four times. That would be in the face of illegal sanctions by the U-S and its allies that primarily target Iran\'s oil trade.

Islamic Republic of Iran has officially begun producing crude oil from the hengam oil field shared with oman in the persian gulf. Discovered in 1975 the field has around 600,000,000 barrels of proven oil reserves. [06 Aug 2012] India begins Rupee payment for Iran oil - English India has started to pay for Iranian crude oil in its own currency. For the first time last week India's Hindustan Petroleum paid 2.75 billion Rupees through this system. The money went into Iran's newly opened account in India's UCO bank. The amount equaling $ 50 million was the partial payment for its oil imports in the month of May.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says current high prices of oil are artifical. He told a meeting of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) that the market is full of oil.

In Iraq\'s Kurdistan Region, a new oil dispute is on the horizon. Kurdish officials say they\'re going to build a second pipeline to export oil to global traders via Turkey. The move has angered Iraq\'s central government, which is firmly against Kurdistan\'s independent oil exports.

The prime minister of Iraq\'s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region says Arbil and Ankara have agreed on the final details of an oil export deal. Nechirvan Barzani says the finalization of such cooperation is a great achievement for Iraq and the Kurdistan region. He said that by signing the deal, the Kurdistan region will for the first time become a net contributor to the Iraqi national income. This, as Iraqi oil minister and his Turkish counterpart yesterday agreed that oil exports from anywhere in Iraq need the central government\'s approval. Baghdad says any independent exports from the region would be illegal but Arbil insists that it has the right to sell the oil independently.

Tribesmen have blown up a major oil pipeline in southern Yemen. Officials say the flow of crude has been halted due to the explosion in Ash-Shihr town of Hadramawt province. This is the second such attack in the past three days. On Thursday, the country\\\'s main oil pipeline was bombed in the central province of Ma\\\'arib. Over the past two years, oil and gas pipelines in Yemen have come under repeated attacks, causing fuel shortages and slashing export earnings in the impoverished country. Yemen depends on oil exports for some 70 percent of government spending.

Armed men have bombed a major oil pipeline in northern Iraq. Officials say the blasts caused a fire and stopped the oil pumping from Salaheddin province to the Turkish port of Jeyhan. They also say that the fire is contained and repairing is underway. Pipelines in Iraq frequently come under attack by militants. The Arab country is heavily dependent on oil export and it aims to increase its production capacity.

They also say a formal change in E-U, U-K and U-S laws is needed to release insurers from existing prohibitions. A recent nuclear deal on Iran\'s nuclear energy program in Geneva allows an easing of a ban on European ship insurance companies that deal with Iran. The sanctions relief could allow Iran to transport its oil more easily to its Asian customers.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says even if the price of oil hits zero, Iran has enough foreign exchange reserves to last for 'three years'. “As far as the foreign exchange reserve is concerned, we are in good shape, and even if the price of oil hits zero, we can manage the country for about three years,” the Fars News Agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying. “The foresight of the country's managers prevented Iran from being swallowed by the global economy, and this helped us because it decreased our susceptibility to the world financial crisis,” he said in a live TV address in Tehran on Tuesday.
