Almost two years into the Iraqi imposed war on Iran, the strategic port city of Khorramshahr was liberated from the occupation of Iraqi forces in 1982. The operation code named Beitul Moqaddas put an end to 575 days of Iraqi occupation of the city in southern Iran.

Martyred on 9 Bahman (28/29 January 1983), his name was recorded as a great strategist in the history of the Western-imposed Iran-Iraq war. When he took charge of the operations and intelligence command of the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), he was just 26 years old. He played an important role in Operation Ramadan, as the Deputy Land Force Commander of the IRGC, as well as in Operation Bayt al-Moqaddas, the Liberation of Khorramshahr and Operation Victory.
