The troubles just keep mounting for under-fire security firm G4S. They are facing \'a forensic audit\' after inconsistencies were discovered between the work the firm charged for and what it actually did.
G4S is privately contracted to provide a host of justice-related work including transporting prisoners and monitoring their electronic tags. G4S are said to have billed the government for monitoring prisoners who had left the country, been returned to prison or had even died.

London calls on the British armed forces to send in reinforcements for the Olympic Games. The UK military has been asked to provide some 3,500 extra troops to guard the Olympic Games. The security duties for the event have been contracted in part to the private security firm G4S. But there are fears that the company cannot provide the 13,700 guards it promised to deliver for the venue.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Yvonne Ridley, a journalist and defense analyst, to further shed light on the issue.

The private security company, G4S, was handed 300 million pounds to hire 10,000 security guards to police the London Olympics. Last week, the army marched in another 3,500 soldiers to tighten the security for Londoners. "There are already signs all over the place warning drivers not to venture in the central London and the underground stations are festooned with posters warning of the mayhem to come," said George Galloway.
East London, where the Olympics are centered, has become a militarized zone. Blocks of apartments have had ground-to-air missile batteries installed on their roofs despite protests by the owners. Special lanes are being installed on approach roads so the athletes and organizers can be fast tracked, avoiding the traffic jams. According to the governor of the Bank of England, Britain is now in recession, which is set to continue for another five years.

The Palestinian Authority has started a new campaign aimed at promoting international support for boycotting Israeli settlements.
In a letter to fifty states including Persian Gulf countries, the PA urged them to clamp down on companies working with Israeli settlements in the West Bank and Jerusalem al-Quds. Companies such as the French-owned Veolia and the British security company, G4S have been named in the letter. The Palestinian Authority also requested that those countries shut down all their operations in the settlements. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law, and the PA says providing services to them breaks the law. In recent months, a number of EU countries have also warned companies against entering the occupied Palestinian territories.
