Israeli forces have stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied East Jerusalem Al-Quds and cordoned off its premises where dozens of Palestinian protesters had gathered. Eyewitnesses said that Israeli policemen had encircled the Al-Aqsa Mosque since the early morning hours and clashes erupted in the holy complex after the Israeli forces raided the area to push out the Palestinians. The protesters responded to the attack by throwing stones. Several people were injured and dozens more detained in the unrest.

Israeli forces once again storm al-Aqsa mosque

Scores of Israeli settlers alongside American tourists entered the al Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem al Quds on Thursday morning to conduct historical tours and perform religious rituals. Officials from al Aqsa state that these violations are now occurring on almost a daily basis.

Several Israeli settler groups have stormed al-Aqsa mosque from the Moroccan gate in recent days, including youths, children, mentors and soldiers in their military uniforms. The settlers shout and laugh out loud and show no respect for the place. Palestinian officials say the break-ins are part of the Israeli plan to divide the mosque and to impose a fait accompli in the holy city. According to al Aqsa officials, the violations against the mosque occur on almost a daily basis, with a greater strategy of normalising Jews entering al Aqsa compound in a bid to eventually take over the site.
