Thousands of Egyptians Participated in a March in support of Jerusalem al-Quds on the Friday following the painful memory of the occupation of East Jerusalem, al-Quds at the hands of the Israeli army. Participants from various political groups including the Muslim Brotherhood and the Jama\'a Islamiya marched following Friday prayers which Prime Minister Hesham Qandil participated in.

In Egypt, students of al-Azhar University hold a protest, demanding the reinstatement of the country\'s ousted President Mohammed Morsi. Thousands of students gathered in the campuses of the university in the capital Cairo and other cities for a third consecutive day. They chanted slogans against the army-installed interim government. Security forces reportedly arrested more than forty of the students during clashes. The rallies were held as the Egyptian prime minister threatened tough measures against those who want to divide the country. Egypt has been witnessing a political crisis and street protests after the army toppled Morsi in early July. Security forces have killed hundreds of protesters ever since.

In Qatar, a top court upholds a 15-year jail term for a poet who criticized Arab regimes in the Persian Gulf for crushing pro-democracy protests. Qatar\'s Court of Cassation confirmed the sentence given to Muhammad Ibn al-Dheeb al-Ajami by an appeals court in February. The ruling is the final verdict from the highest court in the country. His lawyer has described the sentence as a political decision. Ajami was arrested in November 2011 and is accused of insulting the Emir of Qatar. Ajami\'s poem criticizes the ruling families for being dependent on US forces for the glory of their country instead of relying on their own people. Qatar is home to a major US military base.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Naseer al-Omari, writer and political commentator, about a court in Qatar upholding a 15-year jail term for a poet convicted of incitement against the regime.

A prominent Bahraini opposition leader has been freed on bail after appearing in court on charges of inciting violence. The court says the case of Khalil al-Marzooq, a top member of the main Shia political bloc al-Wefaq will be reviewed in mid December. Marzooq has rejected charges that he encouraged anti-regime attacks in the tiny Persian Gulf country. The arrest of Marzooq had prompted the Shia-led opposition to suspend political talks with the regime. The opposition now says it will continue to boycott the talks, until its demands are fully met.

Clashes have once again erupted between Egyptian police and students at Cairo\'s al-Azhar University. Egyptian security forces fired tear gas to disperse students protesting in support of ousted President Mohamed Morsi. The protesters managed to take their march outside the university campus and blocked a main road as they chanted against the military that ousted Morsi in July. The protesters were seen throwing rocks at security forces and a number of students were arrested. There are no immediate reports on casualties. Clashes also erupted on Sunday when students tried to move their protest out of the campus.

French media say after Saudi Arabia, the US is second in line to lead al-Qaeda forces fighting against the Syrian government.

Protesters expressed solidarity with al-Wefaq leader Sheikh Ali Salman and pledged to continue their protests. Al-Wefaq has said the summoning is part of the regime\'s blackmail and revenge campaign against the peaceful opposition. Manama is under fire for a heavy-handed crackdown on dissent.

The Somali fighter group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for twin bombings that rocked the central Somali town of Beledweyne on Tuesday. At least 20 people were killed and many more injured in those attacks. The blasts targeted the central police station that serves as a base for the Somali police force. Those forces receive training from Djiboutian troops who are part of the African Union Mission to Somalia.

Security forces have also detained dozens of students who support ousted president Mohamed Morsi. One of the buildings inside the university campus was set on fire during the attack in the capital, Cairo. On Wednesday, Egyptians staged protests against military rule in different towns and cities, including Alexandria, Tanta and Helwan. The demonstrators chanted slogans against army chief Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Egypt has been gripped by a political crisis and street protests since the army toppled President Morsi in early July. Thousands have been killed as the military cracks down on demonstrations across the country. Thousands of others have also been arrested.
