Iranian Defense Ministry announced that the upgraded version of the medium-range Sejil-2 missile was test-fired successfully on Wednesday. The missile is capable of traveling 2000 kilometers. Ahmad Vahidi the Iranian defense minister said the major advantage of the upgraded Sejil over the previous version is that it cannot be brought down by anti-missile rockets.

Another shooting incident in the US. A shooter at a middle school in Nevada shot a teacher dead and injured two other students before turning the gun on himself. The incident happened just before the scheduled start of classes. Reports say the shooter was a student at the school. The middle school and an elementary school next door were evacuated after the shooting.
