Check out this and other cool science experiments at http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/e... The Tea Bag Rocket is really an adaptation of a classic science demonstration called the Ditto Paper Rocket. Each piece of Ditto paper had a sheet of tissue paper that separated the two-part form, and it was this discarded piece of paper that kids used to make the \"rocket.\" Since Ditto paper is a thing of the past, science teachers found a simple replacement - a tea bag. Watch the video and see the floating ball of ashes.

Disturbing LGBT messages in Children\\\'s Books | The Makinations 1
Introducing the disturbing new series from Islamic Pulse, presenters Brother Muzaffer Abbas Hyder and Sister Zaynab Thani show some examples of the kind of children’s books which are actively and openly promoting LGBT themes. This series is based on the research of Dr. Kate Godfrey-Faussett, who has bravely taken up the task of exposing the agenda of the mainstream education system, which has crept into the schools across the world promoting its sexuality agenda.

[14 June 2012] David Cameron & Leveson Inquiry - Comment - English
On Thursday, UK Prime Minister David Cameron appeared before the Leveson Inquiry. There was no point of hiding his close friendships with the News International family, so instead he tried to make it all out to be part of the job as it was revealed even in opposition he met with the Murdochs and Rebekah Brooks 44 times. News International paid for David Cameron to meet Murdoch in the Greek Island of Santorini in 2008. That year his friendship with Rebekah Brooks also flourished. They were neighbors and Brook's millionaire husband went to the same elite school as Cameron.
Cameron denied ever making any overt or covert deals with News International. He was questioned over why he hired news international editor Andy Coulson as his media chief. Meanwhile three more people, including a sun journalist and police officer were arrested over the scandal. You could say David Cameron sailed through his day at the Leveson inquiry. But then he wasn't really given a rough ride. And what could have easily been a storm seems to have just passed him by. But he did admit his close friendships with the Murdoch's and brooks, at the same time admitting such close relationships were wrong. So it seems even if he just survives, he is a very much a damaged prime minister.

Supreme Leader Praises Iranian Nation\\\'s Resistance against Bullying Powers
TEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei downplayed the plots hatched by the enemies against the Iranian people, and hailed the nation\\\'s resistance against such pressures as a main cause of the country\\\'s giant progress.
\\\"Owing to its exalted goals, that is attainment of Islamic values and realization of Islamic fundamentals in the society and their spread throughout the world, the Iranian nation has and will always be faced with the world bullying, colonialist and dictatorial powers and the hardships imposed (on Iran) by them,\\\" Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with the head and the senior officials of the Iranian judiciary on Monday morning.
Yet, the Leader described the hardships and pressures imposed by the world powers as the main cause of Iran\\\'s progress in different fields, and called on the Iranian nation to increase its patience, wisdom and resistance against the enemy plots to make further progress.
\\\"Hence, everyone should stand up to hardships with insightful patience and turn sufferings into a ladder for progress and promotion,\\\" he said.
In relevant remarks earlier this month, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said enemies are deeply fearful of Iran\\\'s progress and are, thus, doing their best to stop Iran\\\'s development and advancement.
The president stressed that \\\"enemies are afraid of Iran\\\'s development as they know Iran\\\'s development and advancement would back up its divine ideology and school of thought\\\".
\\\"That\\\'s why enemies are endeavoring to prevent Iran\\\'s development even before attacking our school of thought,\\\" he said, and underlined that all enemy moves are aimed at blocking Iran\\\'s path of progress.
\\\"Today development and construction are moving ahead with an increasing momentum, and the Iranian nation is doing what others once wished to do and thought to be impossible,\\\" Ahmadinejad continued.

Stephen Schlesinger (born August 17, 1942) is an author and political commentator. He is an Adjunct Fellow at the Century Foundation in New York City. He served as Director of the World Policy Institute at the New School University from 1997-2006. He is the son of historian Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr and oldest brother of journalist Robert Schlesinger.
Schlesinger graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in 1964, and earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1968. During 1970, he began publishing, with other former supporters of Robert F. Kennedy and Eugene J. McCarthy, The New Democrat, a monthly magazine dedicated to uniting "the left and radical wings"[1] and replacing the "dead leadership" in the Democratic Party. The magazine was critical of Democratic National Committee chairman Larry O'Brien, and promoted the candidacy of South Dakota Senator George McGovern over that of Maine Senator Ed Muskie and former Vice President Hubert Humphrey during the 1972 Democratic presidential primaries.[2] Later, he worked as a staff writer for Time magazine.
Schlesinger served as a speechwriter and foreign policy advisor for New York Governor Mario Cuomo, who was elected during 1982 to the first of three consecutive terms. After Cuomo's defeat in 1994, Schlesinger worked for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT, a United Nations agency for human settlements planning) before accepting a job with the World Policy Institute. He resigned during June 2006.
Schlesinger's book, "Bitter Fruit", published during 1982, a foreign policy work, has sold more than 100,000 copies. His subsequent study of the UN's founding, "Act of Creation", published during 2003, is the only authoritative account of the 1945 San Francisco Conference that drafted the UN Charter. It won the 2004 Harry S. Truman Book Award. During 2007, with his brother, Andrew, he edited his father's journals which cover the period from 1952-2000 and were published to wide acclaim.
Among other media accomplishments, Schlesinger has appeared in five documentaries on the United Nations and one on the 1954

Surrey Islamic Society hosted a talk on Islam and The Media on Day Two of its Islamic Awareness Week 2011.
Talk by Anas Altikriti and Lauren Booth
Lauren Booth is an English broadcaster, journalist and pro-Palestinian activist. She works for Iran's English language news channel, Press TV.In August 2008 she travelled to Gaza by ship from Cyprus, along with 46 other activists, to highlight the blockade of the Gaza Strip and deliver hearing aids and balloons to a deaf school in Gaza. Booth elected to remain behind in Gaza, and was subsequently refused entry into both Israel and Egypt. She said that she believed that, by refusing her the right to leave Gaza and return to her home country, Israel and Egypt were in breach of Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, specifically regarding freedom of movement.
Anas Altikriti is President and founder of the Cordoba Foundation. A leading figure in the British Anti-War movement, Altikriti also served as president of the Muslim Association of Britain between 2004 and 2005.
Altikriti holds an MSc in Translation and Interpreting. He teaches translation and interpreting on part-time basis at Leeds University. He headed the Respect Yorkshire and Humberside slate for the European elections in 2004.
Altikriti organised more than twenty major demonstrations including the demonstration against the Iraq war organized in London on February 15, 2003. He was also special envoy to Iraq to negotiate the release of Western hostages. As a commentator in the International and Arab media (e.g. BBC, CNN, ABC, SKY, Al-Jazeera, etc.) on Muslim and current affairs, he has appeared on HARDtalk and the Doha Debates (both with Tim Sebastian), 'Lateline' on Australian ABC and BBC's Newsnight as well as a number of prominent programs on a variety of international channels. Altikriti has contributed a number of articles to The Guardian, Al-Ahram Weekly and Islam Online.

Iranians hold rallies to support Islamic dress code - 08Jul2011 - English

Just days before the national day of Hijab and Modesty, hundreds of Iranians took to the streets of Tehran and other cities to throw their weight behind a nationwide move to confront un-Islamic dress or bad Hijab.
Chanting such slogans as, “Hijab saves family and society” the demonstrators urged the government to protect the Islamic law.
In the past few years Iran has established a moral police unit, which has been assigned to confront those, who fail to uphold Islamic dress code especially in the summertime; the moral security police caution those who do not observe Islamic dress code properly, both women and men.
Islam, like other religions, believes that personal freedom in this field should be exercised in a controlled way, since unrestrained freedom creates chaos, especially in family relations.
The demonstrators believe that family and school play a key role in promoting the culture of Hijab in the society, and this is not possible unless the government and the nation work hand in hand.

Syrians stage mass anti-US rally
Mature
(BBC NEWS) -- Thousands of people have held a peaceful demonstration in Damascus against an alleged US raid on a village that Syria says killed eight people.
Riot police armed with batons and shields surrounded the US embassy in Damascus, which closed due to what it said were increased security concerns.
The US state department and the White House have refused to confirm, deny or comment on
The assault claimed the lives of eight civilians, including a father and his four sons.
They protestos said the act of aggression is a flagrant violation of international law and a form of systematic terrorism exercised by the American administration on the Arab world, Lebanese Al-Manar TV reported.
Damascus witnessed a huge public demonstration in protest to the US act of aggression which targeted the al-Sukkariah farm outside Abu Kamal.
The protestors, who came from student, women, civic societies, religious and trade union activists, voiced condemnation of the American crime which targeted peaceful building workers on a farm outside the town of Abu Kamal near the border with Iraq on Sunday.
The protestors called on the international community to put an end to reckless US arrogance, appealing to international organizations to condemn such acts of terrorism and take the needed procedures to put on trial the aggressors who show disregard for international laws, norms and charters.
The US Embassy in Damascus was closed Thursday because of security concerns related to the protest. The Syrian government has ordered the closure of a US school, expected within a week, and the immediate closing of the American cultural center linked to the embassy.
The US Embassy meanwhile warned Americans on Thursday to be vigilant. The announcement raises concerns about the safety of US citizens in Syria.
In Washington, State Department deputy spokesman Robert Wood said Wednesday that Syria had formally notified the US of the closure order for the cultural center, effective immediately, and the school by November 6.
Wood said Washington was considering how to respond and stressed the US expects the Syrian government to provide adequate security for the buildings housing the cultural center and the Damascus Community School.
