[10] Avoid the Places of Negligence | Sheikh Azhar Nasser | English

Live in big cities because they are collective centres of the Muslims. Avoid places of neglectfulness and wickedness and places where there are paucity of supporters for the obedience of Allah. Confine your thinking to matters which are helpful to you. Do not sit in the marketing centres because they are the meeting-places of Satan, and targets of mischiefs. Frequently look at those over whom you enjoy superiority because this is a way of giving thanks.
Do not undertake a journey on Friday until you have attended the prayers, except when you are going in the way of Allah, or in an excusable matter. Obey Allah in all your affairs because Allah\'s obedience has precedence over all other things. Deceive your heart into worshipping, persuade it and do not force it. Engage it (in worshipping) when it is free and merry, except as regards the obligations enjoined upon you, for they should not be neglected and must be performed at the five times. Be on guard lest death comes down upon you while you have fled away from your Lord in search of worldly pleasure. Avoid the company of the wicked because vice adjoins vice. Regard Allah as great, and love His lovers. Keep off anger because it is one large army from Satan\'s armies; and that is an end to the matter.

Eid al-Fitr Mubarak! | One Minute Wisdom | English
A very happy Eid al-Fitr Mubarak to every single one of you out there, wherever you are!

A very happy Eid al-Fitr Mubarak to every single one of you out there, wherever you are!
What a beautiful day to celebrate and make merry.
The holiest of holy months, the holy month of Ramadhan has been successfully completed - Insha Allah - and another holy month of Ramadhan has been recorded in our record of righteous deeds.
Yet, what are some of the things that we learned in this holiest of holy months, the holy month of Ramadhan?
And what does the 4th divinely appointed Imam, Imam Ali ibn Husayn al-Sajjad (A) say in a supplication about the completion of the holy month of Ramadhan?
In this holiest of holy months, the holy month of Ramadhan, what kind of company were we afforded with and who was that companion?
Why should we not be sad, even though it\'s the end of the holiest of holy months, the holy month of Ramadhan?
And finally, what do we pray for as regards to the holiest of holy months, the holy month of Ramadhan?
Well, Sayyid Shahryar answers in this One Minute Wisdom with a little help from the spiritual and immaculate words of the 4th divinely appointed, Imam Zayn al-Abideen (A), as we close the holiest of holy months, the holy month of Ramadhan.
And may you all have a blessed \"Eid al-Fitr Mubarak!\", wherever you are.

With all the different current events going on in the world, we all really need a funny, relaxed, refreshing, and yet eye-opening commentary on it all.
Sayyid Shahryar\'s here to humbly shed a little insight into all that\'s going on around the world; past, present, and perhaps even future.
In this episode of \'Keepin\' It Real\', we\'re going to be talking about \'Oysters, Orchards, Oil, and Some Desert Raiders I\', in our part 1 of 2 episode on \'Oysters, Orchards, Oil, and Some Desert Raiders I\'.
But seriously, what country are we speaking about when we speak about the collection of \'Oysters, Orchards, Oil\'?
What place was one of the world\'s most famous natural pearl fisheries?
What was one of the Persian Gulf countries that was visited by the famed jeweler, who at the time wasn\'t so famous, Jacques Cartier?
What are some of the natural resources of the island nation of Bahrain?
And originally, back in the day, what all areas were included as a part of Bahrain?
Who were the first Europeans to formally colonize Bahrain?
Who are the \'Desert Raiders\' and where did they come from?
What in the world is a \"Treaty of Relationship\" and in the case of Bahrain, what all does it entail?
Who is the parent-company of the Bahrain Petroleum Company, known as Bapco?
What is the religion and the sect of the overwhelmingly vast majority Bahrain\'s population?
Finally, what are some of the key ingredients in Bahrain that have made it a ticking time bomb that is ready to explode?
And don\'t forget to watch our conclusionary episode titled \'Oysters, Orchards, Oil, and Some Desert Raiders II\', which will be released soon, whenever that is.
Hey, we\'re just \"Keepin\' It Real\".

Dig into the 1947 Partition of India, when Britain split the region into two states, India and Pakistan, and the mass migrations and violence that followed.
--
In 1947, the British viceroy announced that after 200 years of British rule, India would gain independence and be partitioned into Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan. What followed was one of the largest and bloodiest forced migrations in history: an estimated 1 million people lost their lives. What caused this violent aftermath? Haimanti Roy details the lasting legacies of the Partition of India.
Lesson by Haimanti Roy, directed by Jagriti Khirwar & Raghav Arumugam.

We hear anywhere from 10 to 200 lies a day. And although we’ve spent much of our history coming up with ways to detect these lies by tracking physiological changes in their tellers, these methods have proved unreliable. Is there a more direct approach? Noah Zandan uses some famous examples of lying to illustrate how we might use communications science to analyze the lies themselves.

Mard-e-Maidan Qasem Soleimani | H.I. Ameen Shaheedi | Holy Shrine Imam...
Qasem Soleimani[note 2] (Persian: قاسم سلیمانی, pronounced [ɢɒːˌsem solejˈmɒːniː]; 11 March 1957 – 3 January 2020)...
Qasem Soleimani[note 2] (Persian: قاسم سلیمانی, pronounced [ɢɒːˌsem solejˈmɒːniː]; 11 March 1957 – 3 January 2020) was an Iranian major general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and, from 1998 until his death in 2020, commander of its Quds Force, a division primarily responsible for extraterritorial military and clandestine operations. In his later years, he was considered by some to be the second most powerful person in Iran behind Ayatollah Ali Khamenei[21][22] and his right-hand man.[23]
Soleimani was assassinated in a targeted U.S. drone strike on 3 January 2020 in Baghdad, which was approved by U.S. President Donald Trump. The strike was strongly condemned by some, including the Iranian government, and a multi-city funeral was held in Iraq and Iran for Soleimani and other casualties. Hours after his burial on 7 January 2020, the Iranian military launched missiles against U.S. bases in Iraq; while no lives were lost in the second attack, the Pentagon reported that 110 U.S. troops were wounded as a result.[24][25]
Soleimani initially worked in construction[26][27] before joining the Revolutionary Guards during the Iranian Revolution in 1979. He assembled and led a company of soldiers when the Iran–Iraq War began in 1980, rising through the ranks to become commander of the 41st Tharallah Division in his 20s.[28] He was later involved in extraterritorial operations, and in the late 1990s became commander of the Quds Force.[29] Following the September 11 attacks, Iranian diplomats under his direction cooperated with the U.S. to fight the Taliban.[2] Soleimani also provided assistance to Hezbollah in Lebanon.[2] In 2012, Soleimani helped bolster the government of Syria and its president, Bashar al-Assad, a key Iranian ally. He ran Iran\'s operations in the Syrian Civil War and helped to plan the Russian military intervention in Syria.[30] Soleimani coordinated Kurdish Peshmerga and Shia militia forces in Iraq, and assisted them during the expansion of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in 2014.[31][32][33][34]
Soleimani was popular among many Iranians, with many viewing him as a \"selfless hero fighting Iran\'s enemies\",[35][36][37] while others deemed him a \"murderer\".[38][39][40] Soleimani was personally sanctioned by the United Nations and the European Union[41][42][43] and was designated as a terrorist by the United States in 2005
