A Conference for Palestine refugees was held in Gaza titled United for Return to mark the 65th anniversary of the Palestinian catastrophe or Nakba. It brought together leaders of Palestinian factions as well as refugees\' representatives from Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Egypt and the Diaspora. Upon the establishment of the Tel-Aviv regime in 1948, more than 700,000 Palestinians were forced out of historical Palestine because of the threat of being massacred by Zionist militias coupled with the simultaneous destruction of many Palestinian towns and villages.This dispossession is commemorated among Palestinians, as Nakba.
