November 11th, 2022 - On the occasion of Remembrance Day, we reflect on the importance of studying and remembering our history - We routinely hear \'We don\'t want to bother with the history of the Prophet and the Imams, we want to hear about practical issues affecting us\' - However to look forward, you must look back, at where you came from - Allah in the Qur\'an has repeatedly asked us to reflect upon past nations and lessons we can derive from them - Islam has also asked us to remember the past through rituals that emphasize concepts of importance to us - The lives of the Prophet and Imams span 250 years - more than enough examples for us to relate to our issues and challenges - Examining the Western culture of the poppy flower, and the symbol behind it regarding fallen soldiers - The easily apparent symbolism that can be related to our symbols in Islamic culture, especially when it comes to Karbala Friday Juma Khutba - November 11th, 2022
