Fresh clashes between Egyptian students supporting and opposing the Muslim Brotherhood movement. At least twenty people are injured. The clashes took place in Zaga-zig University in the northern province of al-Sharqia. Pro-Muslim Brotherhood protesters were calling for the reinstatement of ousted president Mohamed Morsi. Such protests have gained momentum in Egypt after students on Cairo\'s al-Azhar University campus staged pro-Morsi rallies for several days starting late last week. Similar protests were held in Alexandria University on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses say security forces have attacked students at the dormitory of Cairo\\\'s al-Azhar University. Several were injured. The security forces also used tear gas and birdshot at students at Zaqaziq University in Sharqiyah province. Egypt has recently started a crackdown against university students protesting what they call an army coup against former president Mohamed Morsi. A large number of people have been detained for taking part in the protests following Morsi\\\'s ouster in July. The detainees include Muslim Brotherhood figures and supporters. The son of one of the Brotherhood\\\'s leaders were arrested on Monday for alleged incitement to violence.

In Egypt, students of al-Azhar University hold a protest, demanding the reinstatement of the country\'s ousted President Mohammed Morsi. Egypt has been witnessing a political crisis and street protests after the army toppled Morsi in early July. Security forces have killed hundreds of protesters ever since.

In Bangladesh, clashes between police and protesters during a nationwide strike have led to the death of at least five people. Police say they opened fire on opposition supporters in the western town of Nagarkanda after they attacked police forces with bricks. The opposition has launched a three-day strike, asking the government to step down before the upcoming general elections. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party-- B-N-P, led by Khaleda Zia says the ruling party should step aside ahead of the January polls. The opposition wants the elections to be held under a neutral caretaker government, to prevent vote rigging. Earlier attempts to cancel the strike failed. On Friday, clashes broke out between supporters of the opposition and the ruling party across the country, leaving several people dead and hundreds injured.

At least eight Yemeni soldiers have been killed in an attack in the country\'s south. Local sources say gunmen attacked a security checkpoint in the province of Abyan. Several others were injured in the incident. Abyan has been witnessing an increasing number of Al-Qaeda attacks in the past weeks. The violence has mainly targeted Yemeni army facilities. The militants say their attacks are in response to US drone strikes in the country. The group says it wants to discourage the government from cooperating with Washington.

There\'s been a fresh US drone strike in Afghanistan. At least four people have been killed in the fifth attack over the past four days. Afghan officials say the airstrike took place in the north-eastern Kunar province near the border with Pakistan. The latest deaths bring to 22 the number of people who\'ve been killed in recent days. Washington uses its killer drones in several Muslim countries including Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen. It claims to target Taliban and al-Qaeda-linked militants but many of the casualties are civilians. The United Nations has urged the US to be more transparent on its drone strikes.

Clashes have once again erupted between Egyptian police and students at Cairo\'s al-Azhar University. Egyptian security forces fired tear gas to disperse students protesting in support of ousted President Mohamed Morsi. The protesters managed to take their march outside the university campus and blocked a main road as they chanted against the military that ousted Morsi in July. The protesters were seen throwing rocks at security forces and a number of students were arrested. There are no immediate reports on casualties. Clashes also erupted on Sunday when students tried to move their protest out of the campus.

To Pakistan now, where at least four people are killed in a car bombing in the provincial capital of Balochistan. Quetta city\'s deputy inspector general says an explosives-laden car was blown up in one of the busiest areas. The powerful blast rocked the whole area, smashing windows of buildings and shops nearby. No person or group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Quetta has been plagued by sectarian violence, targeted killings, kidnappings and militant attacks. Militants there, have long demanded more autonomy and a greater share of Balochistan\'s natural resources. Militant groups have seemingly operated with impunity as security forces are said to have turned a blind eye to their attacks and kidnappings.

Several anti-government rallies took place on Tuesday as Egyptians from all walks marked the third anniversary of the ouster of long-time dictator Hosni Mubarak.Rallies took place in the costal city of Alexandria, Sharqiya as well as in the capital Cairo.The aim of the demonstrations is to protest against the army which ousted the country\'s first democratically elected leader back in July. The protesters also denounced what they describe as a return of the Mubarak era repressive practices which Egyptians revolted against three years ago.3 years on, protesters are saying that Mubarak and Sisi are two faces of the same coin, and that the defense minster Sisi is an enemy to the 25th of Jan revolution.

Protests by the anti-coup groups calling for the reinstatement of ousted President Mohamed Morsi continue in Egypt\'s universities. This comes despite violent clashes between anti-coup demonstrators and security forces as well as the army\'s supporters. On Wednesday protests spread to Zagazig University where students rallied against disciplinary action taken by the University Administration against 4 Muslim Brotherhood students. Violent clashes had also taken place the day before in the Delta City of Mansoura. There, Morsi\'s supporters clashed with students supporting the military. Security forces intervened to disperse the crowds by firing tear gas. Similar clashes also took place at Cairo University but the Al Azhar University had the flashpoint of anti-coup protests and violence. Morsi supporters staged large protests for 3 consecutive days demanding the reinstatement of the ousted president and the release of students arrested.by the security forces. The clashes in Al Azhar University left dozens of students injured. More than 40 students were also arrested. but the Islamic Students Against the Military Coup said they would continue demonstrating against the military and the interim government untill their demands are met. Since the start of the academic year in September, Egyptian Universities have been the scene of repeated protests and violence, which have disrupted the educational process. Egyptian universities are among places where you can clearly see the effects of societies\' polarization between supporters of Morsi and those backing the military. If no serious reconciliation efforts are made soon, it is feared that clashes and violence could become a frequent occurrence on-campuses around the country.

Tensions in Egypt are running high ahead of a new court appearance by ousted president Mohamed Morsi. At least ten pro-Morsi protesters have been killed and many others injured in renewed violence. The casualties have been reported from Cairo, Alexandria, Suez, Ismailia, and Fayoum. The clashes broke out when security forces fired tear gas, birdshot and live gunfire to disperse protesters. Demonstrators were out joining rallies after Friday prayers to demand an end to military rule and voice opposition to the new constitution. Similar violence has been reported from Suez, Assiut and northern Sinai. Security forces rounded up a large number of protesters across the country. Egypt has been tense ahead of Morsi\\\'s court and an upcoming referendum on a new constitution. Muslim Brotherhood has pledged to boycott the referendum slated to be held later this month.

At least seven people are killed in anti-government rallies across Egypt, as the country undertakes its first voting since the army\'s ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in July. Over a dozen others have also been injured in several cities. There were also clashes in front of an interior ministry building in Alexandria. Meanwhile, security forces have stormed the campus of the al-Mansoura University in the city with armored vehicles, and used live ammunition and gas canisters against protesting students. This is the first day of a two-day national vote on the country\'s new constitution, drafted by the army-backed interim government. Under the draft text, the formation of religious political parties is banned. Critics say the new charter only favors the army. If approved, it will replace the current constitution which was passed under Morsi. A coalition led by his Muslim Brotherhood movment has boycotted the referendum.
