The Supreme Court has come into action to expose the role of top officials of previous government of People Party for seeking the US military intervention and denuclearization of Pakistan, a nuclear state. The Court has ordered the newly elected government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to bring back from the US the fugitive Hussain Haqqani, the country\'s ex ambassador to Washington. Haqqani has been refusing to return home citing security concerns since last year when a Judicial Commission found him seeking the US military intervention in Pakistan after US marines carried out an operation to kill top Alqaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in northwest of country in 2011. Haqqani allegedly in league with President Asif Zardari was behind authorizing a memorandum seeking Pentagon\'s help to sack top Pakistani military officials. Pakistani Shias who make up nearly 20 percent of the country\'s 180 million population, has been the main target of sectarian violence. The menace has assumed deadly proportions with the beginning of the year 2013. Quetta witnessed the deadliest bombings this year with two suicide blasts that claimed the lives of over 200 Shia Muslims in the city. In another massacre, which shook the port city of Karachi, a powerful bomb with impact radius of over 700 meters exploded in a predominantly Shia neighborhood of Abbas Town. The targeted killings still continue unabated across Pakistan particularly the port city of Karachi, the eastern city of Lahore, northern areas bordering China and northwestern Kurram agency. The Human right watchdog and other right groups point fingers towards the inaction of the government, which they say is not doing enough, or in some cases nothing. The Human Rights Watch in its last year\'s report says \"The Pakistani government should urgently act to protect the minority Shia Muslim community in Pakistan from sectarian attacks by Sunni militant groups. The government should hold accountable those responsible for ordering and participating in deadly attacks targeting Shia.\" On this week\'s INFocus we talk to Shia Muslims in Karachi to bring this issue to the limelight.

Drones frequently fly apparently to find and hit at suspected militants but mostly they kill civilians. There has been a lot of propaganda--- both by the US and Pakistan--- to underreport and conceal facts about the scale of collateral damages and civilian causalities caused by the US drone attacks.

There\'s been a fresh US drone strike in Afghanistan. At least four people have been killed in the fifth attack over the past four days. Afghan officials say the airstrike took place in the north-eastern Kunar province near the border with Pakistan. The latest deaths bring to 22 the number of people who\'ve been killed in recent days. Washington uses its killer drones in several Muslim countries including Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen. It claims to target Taliban and al-Qaeda-linked militants but many of the casualties are civilians. The United Nations has urged the US to be more transparent on its drone strikes.
