India will develop a gas field in Iran. Farzad-B is an offshore field in Farsi block in southern Iran. National Iranian Oil Company has offered its production sharing contract to India. It comes to a consortium of three Indian public sector petroleum companies. They include ONGC Videsh, Indian Oil and Oil India. There could still be serious obstacles. Any company doing business with Tehran could face international economic sanction. The Indian companies are not worried. They are confident that a way could be found to escape these sanctions.

Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency have wrapped up what\'s been desrcibed as a productive meeting on Tehran\'s nuclear energy program in the Austrian capital. The two sides will hold a fresh round of talks in Tehran on January 21.
The latest talks follow a recent nuclear deal between Iran and the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany. Tehran also earlier agreed to provide the I-A-E-A access to formerly off-limit sites. Iran met its first obligation under the I-A-E-A agreement at the weekend, by allowing the UN nuclear agency inspectors to visit Arak\'s heavy-water facility.

c Iranians are becoming more aware and turning towards renewable energy sources. They're also trying to find ways to reduce energy consumption.
The solar water heating systems on display at the 3rd international energy saving exhibition in Tehran are the first the draw the visitors who may not just be big fans green technology but simply more concerned about their gas and electricity bills.
Now that energy subsidies have been eliminated and gas prices are high people are turning to other sources of energy. Solar water heaters can help reduce their energy consumption by 70 percent.
Ever since the government has introduced its policies to change energy consumption pattern more and more people have been considering sources other than fossil fuels. The effect can be seen on this annual exhibition. More than 80 companies have taken part including more than 10 foreign companies from China, Germany, Turkey and France.
Even wind turbines have found their way to the exhibition.
Iran is the 16th producer of electricity in the world and is working to achieve sustainable development in the field of renewable energy. Iran is now producing 2100 Mega Watts of electricity from renewable sources. The target set for 2025 is 12000 Mega Watts which is 10 percent of the annual production.
Meanwhile figures show that Iranians are becoming energy aware and changing their consumption habits.
The total power peak demand in summer has decreased to 39140 megawatts from 40150. This shows that people know the value of energy and are consuming more wisely.
And as the country moves towards commercialization of Green Technology this annual exhibition will continue to focus on sustainable energy, renewable energy and green energy over the coming years, while providing visitors with essential information about innovative eco-products and services.

[06 June 2012] 'P5+1 unwilling to resolve Iran N-issue' - English
While Iran and the P5+1 are getting ready to meet again in Moscow later this month, the Western side is ignoring Iran's request for preparatory talks to set the agenda ahead of the meeting.
Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili has written a letter to the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton about the issue. Jalili has warned that the P5+1's foot-dragging on holding a preparatory meeting raises doubts about its determination to have successful talks in Moscow.
The preparatory meeting was agreed in previous negotiations to set the agenda of the main meeting. Jalili's Deputy Ali Bagheri sent two letters to Ashton's deputy Helga Schmid in May and June regarding the preparatory meeting. Bagheri says the response he received fails to address the agenda-setting talks.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Mohammad Marandi, professor of University of Tehran, to further explore the issue.

Iran\\\'s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says Tehran will respond to unthoughtful and inaccurate remarks by American officials.
Araqchi said that Iran will continue nuclear talks with the P-five-plus-one group of countries with goodwill despite the fact that American officials have adopted a contradictory stance since the Geneva deal. Araqchi named blacklisting some Iranian entities and pressures from the US Treasury Department on other countries as examples of that policy. According to Araqchi, comments and actions by US official have been provocative and against the spirit of cooperation, required for the implementation of the November 24 deal. The diplomat noted that Tehran has advised American officials against trying to resolve their internal problems or tensions with their allies at the expense of the Iranian nation\\\'s rights.

The conference discussed Iran\'s achievements in the field of clean energy. The president\'s Deputy for Research and Technology talked about Iran\'s advances in cogeneration or combined heat and power (CHP).

Under the Geneva deal between Iran and five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany, the western countries have agreed to ease sanctions on Iran in response to Tehran\'s confidence-building move to continue its nuclear energy program at a lower level. But, there are different accounts of the exact timing of the partial sanctions removal.
The U-S says Iran will see up to seven-billion-dollars worth of its frozen assets un-blocked. Out of this amount, Washington is expected to un-freeze some four-point-two billion dollars in oil revenue frozen in foreign banks. But, some remaining 40 billion dollars of Iran\'s oil export money will remain frozen. This is the amount Iran obtained through selling its oil under U-S and E-U sanctions imposed in early 20-12. Iran could also access another four-hundred-million dollars for educational purposes, such as the transfer of university tuition fees. France\'s Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius says this could happen in December. But British Foreign Secretary William Hague, as well as the spokesman for E-U\'s foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, say they expect the sanctions easing to be completed in January.

Israel has not been alone in its opposition to the newly brokered nuclear deal with Iran. Now Canada\'s foreign minister says he\'s skeptical about the international community\'s agreement with Iran.
Canadian Foreign Minister John Baird says his country will keep its financial and trade sanctions against Iran in place. Canada\'s Conservative government, which is a staunch ally of Israel, has banned nearly all exports to and imports from Iran over Tehran\'s nuclear energy program. Canada also shut its embassy in Tehran in 2012 and ordered Iranian diplomats to leave Ottawa.
