Lukashevich spokesman said the US unilateral sanctions on Iran over its nuclear activities are against international law, accusing Washington of abusing its position in the global financial structure by imposing further sanctions on Iran. He also lashed out at the White House for forcing other countries to engage themselves in its decisions. Lukashevich said sanctions should not affect Russian companies working with Iranian firms. The Lebanese Army has condemned recent Israeli deployments inside Lebanon's borders, saying that it will follow up the move through international bodies. The army said in a statement on Friday that the recent erection of an observation post and a military facility by Israel on the outskirts of the Kfar Shouba Hills of Lebanon is against the international resolutions and also against the United Nations' frontier line between Lebanon and Israel. Responding to the Israeli violation of Lebanese territory Lebanon called the action “provocative” and deployed its own army units in the area on Friday. "In a clear violation of a restricted area of Lebanese territory, and in an attempt to impose a new reality on the ground, the Israeli enemy on Wednesday set up an observation post at the edge of Kfar Shouba and a military position overlooking Baathaeel pond, violating the imaginary line that (UNIFIL) delineated anew, which it considers to be the Israeli withdrawal line," said the statement, making reference to the Blue Line designated by the UN in 2000. "Given this provocative stance, Lebanese Army units in the region deployed patrols along the border," it added. The army said it was following up on Israel's violation with UNIFIL officials in order "to resolve this urgent situation", The Daily Star reported. Israel seized control of the Farms in 1967, when it also captured the Syrian Golan Heights. UN Resolution 1701 was adopted in August 2006 following Israel's 33-day war against Lebanon. The resolution binds Israel to pull its forces out of the village of Ghajar and the Kfar Shouba Hills.

As outrage and condemnation continues over Israel's deadly attack on a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, Tel Aviv once again threatens to halt any ship trying to break the Gaza blockade. In a letter to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Israel's Ambassador to the UN Gabriela Shalev called for a halt to a new aid ship scheduled to set sail from Lebanon to break the siege of Gaza, warning that Tel Aviv would use "all necessary means" to stop the vessel. "Israel reserves its right under international law to use all necessary means to prevent these ships from violating the existing naval blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip," she said. The warning comes as a group of female Lebanese activists announced a plan to send an aid ship loaded with medical supplies to Gaza, which has been under siege since 2007. According to the organizers, 50 Lebanese and foreign activists would be aboard the aid ship. The new aid convoy planned the mission after Israeli commandos on May 31 stormed the Gaza Freedom Flotilla aid convoy, killing 20 civilian activists and injuring dozens of others. The Israeli envoy also claimed the aid ship was linked to the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah. Hezbollah, however, has denied having any links to the mission, saying it would not join the convoy as it did not want to give Israel an excuse to attack the Gaza campaigners. The warning comes as earlier on Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak warned Lebanon against allowing the aid ship to depart from Lebanon for Gaza.

An international rights group has criticized Saudi Arabia for failing to address the dire human rights situation in the kingdom. Amnesty International says Riyadh has failed not only to implement any of recommendations by the UN Human Rights Council, but has increased the brutal repression of its own citizens. Amnesty International\'s regional director says a paper has been submitted to the UN rights body highlighting arbitrary arrests, detentions, unfair trials, torture and other ill-treatment in the oil-rich kingdom. Philip Luther has called on the international community to make the Saudi regime accountable for violating the rights of its minority Shia community and migrant workers. He says Shia Muslims are being targeted for participating in anti-government demonstrations and for views which are critical of the state. Amnesty has also condemned the systematic discrimination against women in the ultra-conservative kingdom-- including a ban on women driving.

More tensions along the border between India and Pakistan; at least a dozen people have been injured as the two sides exchange fire over the Kashmir border. Several children were among those injured. The fresh round of violence started at border posts along the frontier on Thursday. Pakistani officials have accused Indian troops of initiating the violence by firing along the frontier and injuring two people. Similarly, India has accused the Pakistani side of violating the ceasefire by firing mortars on at least 50 Indian border posts. Skirmishes along the border have intensified despite the first face-to-face meeting between the Pakistani prime minister and his Indian counterpart in New York last month.

Afghan tribal elders have convened in the capital Kabul to debate the fate of the US forces in the war-torn country beyond 2014. The participants in the gathering known as Loya Jirga are discussing the draft of a long-awaited bilateral security deal between Kabul and Washington. The draft agreed on Wednesday appears to meet US demands on some thorny issues. Among them are US troops\' unilateral operations, their authority to enter Afghan homes and immunity from prosecution. In his opening speech at the meeting, Afghan President Hamid Karzai said 15000 foreign forces would remain in Afghanistan if the deal is inked. The presence of US-led forces in Afghanistan has generated deep anti-US sentiments among Afghans who accuse Washington of violating their country\'s sovereignty and killing civilians.

Myanmar rejects a UN resolution that urges it to give the Rohingya Muslims equal access to citizenship. Myanmar also accused the UN of violating its sovereignty. On Tuesday, the UN General Assembly\'s human rights committee called on Myanmar to stop Buddhist violence against the Muslim minority. But the demand drew strong opposition from the West\'s democracy icon Aung San Suu Chee \'s party. Buddhist violence against Rohingya Muslims, which is said to have the state backing, has become routine in Myanmar. It\'s left hundreds dead and sent another 2-hundred 40-thousand fleeing their homes.

Human rights lawyer Shazhad Akbar is spearheading a movement against the US assassination drone strikes in the Pakistani tribal areas. Earlier this year he won a major legal battle when a top court in Pakistan declared that drone strikes are amounted to war crime and directed the government to use all available means to stop such illegal strikes. However, according to Shazad, Islamabad has failed to implement the court order. Anger is growing with every passing day in Pakistan over the continued US drone strikes. Last week several religious and political parties held a massive protest in the north western city of Peshawar blocking supply lines of the US-led forces stationed in Afghanistan. Despite strong public opposition, the US has expanded drone campaign to beyond the tribal areas. The development has prompted the provincial government in the North West of the country to file a legal case against the CIA for killing innocent people. The Pakistani government is under pressure to take a decisive action against US drone strikes. Many experts here believe that authorities need to come up with a clear plan to stop the United States from violating the country\'s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Samer al-Issawi, who was in an Israeli prison since July 2012, began a 260-day hunger strike in August 2012 in protest over Israel\\\'s decision to send him back to prison to serve the remaining 16 years of an earlier 26-year sentence. Issawi was released in 2011 on parole from prison but was rearrested less than a year later for allegedly violating his parole. He went on a hunger strike in which he consumed only liquids fortified with vitamins that lasted for more than eight months until April 2013. His protest attracted widespread attention in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Issawi only ended his protest after Israel agreed to shorten his sentence and give him an eight-month parole violation sentence. Israel currently holds thousands of Palestinian prisoners. Palestinian officials say over 200 Palestinian security prisoners have died in Israeli prisons since 1948.

Ahmed Maher, Ahmed Douma and Mohammed Adel were figureheads of the popular movement that ousted dictator Hosni Mubarak from power almost three years ago. Now, the three activists have been sentenced to prison for three years on charges related to violating a prohibitive new protest law issued by the military-backed interim government that ousted president Mohamed Morsi. Egyptian security forces have in recent weeks extended their ongoing crackdown on the opposition movement of the Muslim Brotherhood to now include liberal political activists.
