In the US, a twenty-year-old woman has been left in a coma after being tasered by a Florida police officer while handcuffed. Doctors say the woman was left brain dead during the incident and will likely never wake up. The police officer involved in the incident has been cleared of any wrongdoing. This comes as the United States is under increasing fire over its use of the electro-shock weapon.

So far no suspects in the shootings." At first, a viewer might think the children were hardened soon to be street criminals. But someone at Chicago's WBBM leaked the entire interview to journalism watchdog groups Again we apologize for what you see but listen to what the reporter and the child actually said. "Reporter - when you get older you gonna stay away fromall these guns Child - No Reporter - No Child - No Reporter - What are you going to do when you get older? Child - I'm gonna have me a gun Reporter - You are ( child nods) Why do you want to do that? Child - I'm gonna be the police Reporter - OK then I guess you can have one" The exchange was sent all over the internet as bloggers and media groups blasted the TV Station for editing the story in a way that made the community look more violent. The US Civil rights group the NAACP wants action taken against the reporter and the editor. In American communities of color, civic groups have long complained about how they are portrayed on television and in newspapers. While many now say this is proof positive of a pervasive and long standing trend in American media, others who watch the industry say its is and isolated incident. Journalism Scholar and author Al Tompkins spoke with WBBM's New Director. He tells Press TV the station has admitted they made a gross mistake and that personnel responsible were disciplined. WBBM would not return phone calls to Press TV but issued an apology that said in part “We accept responsibility for the mistakes that were made, both in the reporting and editing of the story. The video of the child should not have aired. ….we have followed up with our employees to make sure that we all have learned from the mistakes that were made.

Israeli forces have stormed a Palestinian home to arrest a 4-year-old child in Jerusalem al-Quds. Muhammad al-Majid\'s father says Israeli forces woke up his little son in the middle of the night. He says, however, that they backed down from carrying out the arrest after seeing the child. Months ago, a two-and a half-year-old boy was about to be arrested in a similar attempt. Human rights organizations are warning that Palestinian children are routinely tortured and habitually threatened with rape by their Israeli captors. According to the independent organization of Defense for Children International, 179 Palestinian minors have been imprisoned and prosecuted in Israeli military courts, since September 30.

Israeli forces have arrested a Palestinian boy for allegedly throwing a stone at Israeli soldiers: the boy is only 5-years old. The incident happened in the city of Hebron or al-Khalil in the Occupied West Bank. The Israeli army has said the boy had endangered passers-by. The detention a 5-year old innocent boy is not an isolated case involving the violation of Palestinian rights. There is a long list of such violations including the siege on the Gaza Strip since 2007, arbitrary abduction and arrest of Palestinians; destruction of their homes to name just a few. Israel has outraged the bereaved family of a twelve year old Gazan boy who was killed in September of 2000 by Israeli gun-fire which was captured on film by a French camera crew. Mohammad al-Durrah became a symbol of the second Palestinian intifada when he was shot to death by Israeli soldiers as his father desperately tried to protect him. In recent days Tel-Aviv added insult to injury for the Al-Durrah\\\\\\\'s by claiming that this incident was staged by Palestinians as a publicity stunt to tarnish the Israel\\\\\\\'s image.

Human rights groups have condemned the arrest of a five-year-old Palestinian boy by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank, Press TV reports. The boy, Wadia Meswedeh, was arrested on July 9 at a checkpoint near Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of al-Khalil for \'throwing stones\' at the car of an Israeli settler. The arrest has prompted condemnations by several human rights groups.

Another Bahraini activist has fallen victim to the Al Khalifah regime\'s crackdown on dissent. This time, regime forces have shot and killed a 17-year-old. Reports from the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom say Ali Khalil al-Sabbagh was shot in the head in Bani Jamrah today. He had previously been arrested by the regime. On its Twitter account, Bahrain\'s Interior Ministry accused Sabbagh of being a terrorist and claimed he was trying to plant a bomb. The Bahraini security forces have also arrested Sabbagh\'s father. After news of the teenager\'s death broke, Bahrainis took to the streets across the island and held demonstrations.

North Korea has deported an American veteran who\'d been held since October for alleged hostile acts against Pyongyang. North Korean officials say they\'ve released 85-year-old Merrill Newman after he apologized for his alleged crimes during the Korean War, and also because of his age and health condition. The war veteran was pulled from a plane on October 26th while preparing to leave the country after a 10-day tour. He\'s now landed in Beijing, expressing happiness to be on his way home. Meanwhile, U-S Vice President Joe Biden has hailed North Korea for releasing the man, saying it was wrong to detain him in the first place. Biden has also called for another detained American to be swiftly released.

Israeli forces open fire on a Palestinian teenager and kill him near the West Bank city of Ramallah. The shooting took place just north of the Israeli settlement of Ofra. Palestinian medical and security officials say the victim is 18-year-old Mohammad Mubarak, who lived in the Jalazone refugee camp. Palestinian sources said Mubarak was a laborer on a US-aid project in the area. Israeli officials have confirmed the deadly shooting. However, they claimed that Mohammad was a \"terrorist\" who was shot dead after opening fire on Israeli forces. Many Palestinians including women and children get killed or maimed by Israeli forces despite repeated outcries by human rights groups.

When the MP expenses scandal broke in 2009, it led to a dramatic drop in public trust in Parliament. In response, the parliament set up a committee to review the expenses system and stop the abuse. MPs used public money to fund hotel stays, wide screen TVs and gardening bills. In a move that will infuriate many that committee has today recommended MPs receive a more than 10% pay rise.
