The UN-Arab League Special Envoy for Syria has arrived in Damascus as part of a tour aimed at garnering support for proposed peace talks. Lakhdar Brahimi was welcomed by Syrian deputy foreign minister Faisal Moqdad upon his arrival. Brahimi traveled to several countries in the Middle and Near East including Iran to prepare the grounds for the Geneva Two conference. The talks are aimed at ending Syria\'s two-and-a-half-year unrest. This is Brahimi\'s first visit to Syria since December.

In Syria, militants have withdrawn from a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Damascus under a deal with Palestinian factions. Palestinian fighters have been deployed to prevent the entry of any gunmen after most insurgents left the Yarmouk camp. Now a Palestinian delegation is set to tour it soon to make sure that all militants have left. Bomb disposal experts will also be sent there following the tour to defuse all explosives and mines before humanitarian aid is allowed in. Thousands of civilians have been trapped in Yarmouk since the Syrian army laid a siege on the camp after fighting broke out between opponents and supporters of the Syrian government there. So I’m taking you to the farm where they have it. Also, I see you need this certain kind of exercise. So I’ll take you to a mountain for climbing, and this will help heal your leg pain. You also have that other problem, and there is a place for mineral water on our way.” “How beautiful you design everything for me!” God doesn’t have anything to do other than this! [In the Qur’an] when God wants to say He’s giving the worst punishment to a person, He says, “I abandoned him.” The Holy Prophet of Islam would constantly pray, “O God, don’t ever leave me on my own for even the blink of an eye.” Don’t leave me on my own.
