The Lebanese Army says D-N-A tests confirm the identity of an arrested Saudi suspect as Majed al-Majed. He is the leader of a terrorist group behind a deadly attack on the Iranian embassy in Beirut.
Majed was arrested on Monday. He is the ring leader of Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an al-Qaeda offshoot. The group launched the attack against the Iranian Embassy on November 19. The back-to-back blasts left at least 23 people dead, including an Iranian diplomat. Over 160 others were also injured in the violence. The Saudi ambassador to Lebanon has said that Beirut should extradite Majed to Riyadh in case the man\\\'s identity is confirmed.
Tehran says a team will be sent to Lebanon to be involved in the interrogation of the man who was behind a terrorist attack on the Iranian Embassy in Beirut.
Iran\\\'s Foreign Minister Mohamamd Javad Zarif appreciated efforts by Lebanese officials in the arrest of Saudi national Majed al-Majed. Zarif made the comments during a phone conversation with his Lebanese counterpart, Adnan Mansour. For his part, Mansour expressed hope that security would return to his country with the capture of al-Majed and other terrorists.

Why is it that when an individual has more love for the Ahl al-Bayt (A), one tends to encounter more trials and tribulations?
What is a divine tradition when it comes to trials and tribulations?
Why does Allah test His servants?
And ultimately, where should a person reach when it comes to passing divine tests; something we see in the companions of Imam Husayn (A)?
The late Ayatollah Misbah-Yazdi (R) provides us with a short, but profound lesson on the basics of loving Allah.

Do you have problems Donât come to Arbaeen!
Agha AliReza Panahian
We should pay attention to what God is expecting in these calm and quiet tests. Some of the tests are with a great commotion, and they clarify our duty. Some of the tests are very quiet. A person may be deceived and suddenly lose opportunities.
In many cases, the tests for reaching to the highest degrees of closeness to God, are very delicate and quiet. The people of Kufa said, âWhat should we do now? What will happen? We canât leave Imam Husayn (âa) alone. We invited him ourselves. Letâs wait until he comes.â Then they realized that Imam Husayn (âa) wonât come. Hurr and his troops had stopped them. And Ubaydullah was preparing an army.
They were thinking about what to do. People like Sulayman bin Surad were thinking. Then suddenly what happened? They brought the pure heads into the city. They blamed themselves, âWe didnât know such a tragedy would come about!â
Thousands of people formed the Tawwabin (repenters) uprising. All of them knew that they were going to be killed, and they were killed. There was no use for what they did in history, and they didnât gain the advantage of being in Karbala or Ashura either.
What? You expected Imam Husayn (âa) to pass through Hurrâs blockade himself, come into the city of Kufa, nock on your doors one by one, and say, âCome help me. They want to cut my head off. If you donât come, this and that will happen.â What explanation did you expect from Imam Husayn (âa) for you to come?
Believe me, Arbaeen is one of the quiet tests. Some of the tests are very quiet. A person may be deceived and suddenly lose opportunities. Believe me, Arbaeen is one of the quiet tests. Arbaeen seems noisy, but itâs also quiet, because one might think, âIs it obligatory for me to struggle for Arbaeen?â I donât know. What should I say? During these analyses, some lose this great opportunity. During these analyses, some lost the opportunity of helping Husayn (âa).
But, there was one person sitting in Imam Husaynâs (\'a) meeting on the night before Ashura. People informed him, âThe cursed Ubaydullah has arrested your son.â Being arrested at that time meant being executed. They had to rescue him somehow. Imam Husayn (âa) looked at the father and said, âGo save your son. I donât want you to be here when you have this problem.â
The Imam gave him some money and supplies and said, âUse these to gain your son\'s freedom.â If you have problems, donât come to Arbaeen. If you were in Imam Husaynâs (\'a) tent on the night of Ashura, he would have said, âGo fix your problems.â Even if you were there on the night of Ashura!
What did that father do? He looked at AliAkbar, the Imamâs son, and at the Imam (âa). He said, âYour young son is going to be martyred here tomorrow. Now I should go after my own son? May my son be sacrificed for your son!â He started pleading, âDonât drive me out of your tent because of this. I donât want to go after my problems. I want to be for you!â He pleaded so much that the Imam (âa) said, âFine, stay.â
The tests are not always noisy or clear in clarifying our duties! Some opportunities come and go quickly like lightning. Some opportunities donât shake you and say, âWake up. Get up. Move!â They donât seize you by the collar. A person asks, âI have some jobs to do. There is Arbaeen too. I donât know if I should leave my work, or not.â
I say, âI donât know. What should I say?!â I tell them I donât know. If it was Imam Husayn (âa), he would say, âGo, for sure. Go do your work my dear.â How much did you want to spend for Arbaeen? And you say youâre waiting for your Imam (âa.j.) to reappear for you to rescue the world with him?! You didnât spend that much for the dignity of Aba Abdillah al-Husaynâs (âs) gathering in Karbala in the Arbaeen meeting place. You are waiting for the Imam (âa.j.) to come for you to give your life? We consider Arbaeen to be a quiet test.

Iran tests radars on 3rd day of drills
Iran's military has entered the third day of its biggest ever nationwide air drills, with testing radar capabilities in defending the country's territory.
The anti-air defense units from Iran's Armed Forces and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) are taking part in the five-day air defense maneuvers dubbed Defenders of Velayat Skies, which began on Tuesday.
According to the spokesman for the military drills Brigadier Hamid Arzhangi, various kinds of fixed and mobile radars that have been domestically manufactured or refurbished would be tested during the third day of the drills on Thursday.
He further explained that radars would be used to detect and identify objects and pass relevant data to the operational units.
The military official added that all types of the country's radar systems, which would relay intelligence to the unified command and control network of the central headquarters, would be utilized and examined during the third day of the maneuvers.
He pointed out that reconnaissance missions to detect state-of-the-art systems of theatrical enemies using radars were also on the agenda of the third day of drills.
During the second day of the maneuvers on Wednesday, advanced equipment used for communication and exchange of intelligence along with modern electro-optical systems were successfully tested and utilized.
The air maneuvers are being held near Iran's strategic sights and landmarks, aiming to assess performance of new air defense systems and enhance rapid response capabilities in countering potential aerial attacks.
Iranian military officials say the drills convey a message of peace and friendship to neighboring countries and a fierce warning against enemies.
Iran simulates Electronic Warfare in drills
An Iranian commander says the Air Force has "analyzed and conducted" Electronic Warfare (EW) missions during the first three days of its biggest defense drills.
"EW means jamming the enemies' electronic systems, equipment, and capabilities and the mission of this war is to seize and control electromagnetic fields," Colonel Moharam Qolizadeh said on Thursday.
"We have analyzed and conducted EW missions in the drills [dubbed] 'Modafean Aseman Velayt 3' (Guardians of Velayati Skies)," he added.
The colonel said the maneuvers were aimed at "spotting [the enemy] without being spotted" and tapping the enemy communications lines without compromising transmissions by Iranian forces.
Earlier on Thursday, the spokesman for the military drills Brigadier General Hamid Arzhangi said Iran had successfully tested a new generation of its first domestically-manufactured air defense system during the third day of the nationwide air drills.
The Mersad (Ambush) modern medium-range system is capable of spotting and destroying advanced aircraft at low and high altitudes.
In addition to its high mobility, Mersad's new generation can be used in electronic warfare and can be networked with other radar and defense systems, Arzhangi added.
The forces were also set to test various models of fixed and mobile radars that have been domestically manufactured or refurbished.
Air defense units from Iran's Armed Forces and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) are taking part in the five-day air maneuvers.

The war of intervention in Libya is yet another American illegal adventure, argues Keith Harmon Snow, an independent war correspondent. The objective, he says, secured access to Libya's significant oil supply, other mineral resources and defense testing. He says the argument of humanitarianism and stopping a "warlord" was a absolute nonsense. If that argument were true, he contends, there are far more brutal war criminals in African countries the US could have chosen to target.

[06 July 2012] Comment with George Galloway: Arafat poisoned by polonium (I) - English
Scientists of a Swiss institute say they have evidence that former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat may have been poisoned with polonium. According to the findings of laboratory research conducted at the Institute de Radiophysique in Lausanne, Switzerland, Arafat was poisoned by polonium, a rare, highly radioactive element, al-Jazeera reported on Tuesday. "I can confirm that we measured an unexplained, elevated amount of unsupported polonium-210 in the belongings of Mr. Arafat that contained stains of biological fluids," said Dr. Francois Bochud, the director of the institute.
Bochud stated that the tests focused on biological samples taken from his belongings, which were given to his wife Suha Arafat by the hospital in Paris where he died. "If (Suha Arafat) really wants to know what happened to her husband (we need) to find a sample -- I mean, an exhumation... should provide us with a sample that should have a very high quantity of polonium if he was poisoned," he added. Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) leader Yasser Arafat died on November 11, 2004, following several weeks of medical treatment. At the time, French officials refused to reveal the exact cause of his death on grounds of privacy laws, fueling rumors that the Mossad had poisoned him with thallium, another radioactive element.

Palestinian investigators accuse israel of being the prime suspect in the mysterious death of former Palestine Liberation Organization leader, Yasser Arafat.
A Palestinian committee charged with finding the truth has accepted the Swiss and Russian reports that show the former P-L-O leader was poisoned to death. During a press conference in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Palestinian investigators said that scientific details show Arafat did not die a natural death. They\\\'ve also pledged to carry out a thorough investigation to confirm all the details and elements of the case. Arafat\\\'s body was exhumed last year to find out the actual cause of his death. During forensic tests, Swiss scientists found a high level of polonium in Arafat\\\'s bones. Arafat died in November 2004, after going onto a coma following symptoms of abdominal pains, diarrhea and vomiting.

Some Muslims, and even some non-Muslims have a very one-sided view of Islam.
Islam is either portrayed as a religion of complete love in all circumstances, or it\'s portrayed as a savage and blood-thirsty religion.
Both portrayals of Islam are completely incorrect and biased.
Islam is a religion that shows us the way of perfect harmony and balance.
With this in mind, where does the concept of Jihad fit in all this?
What are the different faces and manifestations of the war of evil against good, and of falsehood against Truth?
What place does the \"soft war\" have in all this?
And who are the people that Allah tests the most?
The late Ayatollah Misbah-Yazdi (R) provides us with a short, but profound lesson on the basics of loving Allah.

Becoming familiar with some of the sweet concepts of the Shaâbaniya Supplication
Session 5
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful. One of the very beautiful, monotheistic sentences in the beginning of the Shaâbaniya Supplication is the phrase, which I mentioned in previous sessions for another reason, âWhat comes to me or is taken away, benefits or loss, are in Your hands and not the hands of anyone else. My Lord, if You deprive me, who can give me sustenance? If You humiliate and leave me, who can help me?â What comes to me or is taken away, benefits or loss,
are in Your hands and not the hands of anyone else. Then, it concludes, âMy Lord, if You deprive me, who can give me sustenance? If You humiliate and leave me, who can help me?â
The first point is that itâs obvious when we are asked, âWho has power and in whose hands are affairs? Is there anyone else with the Almighty God?â we give a clear answer. âPower is in Godâs hands. Others besides God cannot do anything.â So why donât these monotheistic teachings become internalized in our hearts the way they should for them to cause us to cry, moan and talk to God, and have the most intense love in our hearts for the Lord? Loving to talk to the Almighty God and feeling a need for this conversation deeply, are due to these monotheistic teachings that have become internalized in oneâs heart. What is the obstacle to these monotheistic teachings becoming internalized in our hearts? The obstacle is that we give too much value to various causes. We donât see Godâs role as being more than a cause, the tools that we have, or even our own power.
Itâs usually tribulations that create such a feeling for a person. Tribulations bring a person to a dead end. Then, one suddenly feels that he doesnât have anyone except God. But, when we are at the peak of prosperity, we donât have anyone but God either. When everything around us and all events are going smoothly, when we are on the verge of reaching all of our desires, in the same way, we donât have anyone except God. We are not polytheists in this way that we believe in God while believing in other gods with Him. We are not polytheists in this way that we worship idols and consider both God and idols to be effective in the world. But, an amount of polytheism exists, which prevents us from having monotheism in our hearts. It takes away our feeling for wanting to talk to God. This amount of polytheism is usually in our hearts that we see causes and people to be very effective in our lives.
We should think deeply about how much power God exerts in our lives according to the verse of the Qurâan where God tells the Prophet, ââŠand you did not smite when you smote the (enemy), but it was Allah Who smote them!â [Qurâan 8:17] A high understanding of monotheism will become internalized in a personâs heart. We should ponder on the topic of âdeterminism and free will.â We should look at how involved God is in our lives in each moment.
We should consider this fact that there are no coincidences in our lives. When we get a taxi in the street or call for a taxi, which taxi and which taxi driver comes, which radio station he is listening to in the taxi, and what we are hearing, none of these are coincidences. And, God can change the minds of people around us about what they say to us. He always does this. Because, all the scenes around us should be designed in a way that are in accordance with Godâs tests. Therefore, everything is in Godâs hands. Itâs really in His hands.
Itâs fine if we do our duty with regard to the causes. Itâs our duty to repel a harm that comes towards us and to go towards a benefit, which comes to us, and take that benefit, but of course using lawful ways. Otherwise, we have turned God against ourselves. Itâs not that we shouldnât care about causes at all, but we should see God to be more powerful than these causes. If this state is created within us, the feeling of wanting to talk to God will intensify.
We often talk to and supplicate God politely, which is excellent. Sometimes we talk to and supplicate God with affection. Of course, this is excellent too. But, these donât contradict a person understanding his exigency. The Household of the Prophet talked to God politely, affectionately, and also with an intense urgency. Where does this urgency arise from? It comes from the monotheism in their hearts, not in tribulations, but in regular situations. They truly look intensely at God in regular situations.
The next point, which can be connected to this topic and strengthen it, is in the second phrase that I read for you. He says, âMy Lord, if You deprive me, who can give me sustenance? If You humiliate and leave me, who can help me?â Believing that we always need Godâs help is a very valuable belief. One of the greatest tribulations that God threatens bad people with in the Qurâan, is where He says, âI wonât help you!â What does this mean?
