A short film by PressTv-Borj-e Milad (aka Milad Tower, Persian: برج میلاد ) (Persian: birth) is the tallest tower in Iran. Built in between the Shahrak-e Gharb and Gisha districts of Tehran, it stands 435 m (1,427 ft) high from base to tip of the antenna. The head consists of a large pod with 12 floors, the roof of which is at 315 m (1,033 ft). Below this is a staircase and elevators to reach the area. Milad tower is the fourth tallest tower in the world after the CN Tower in Toronto, Ostankino Tower in Moscow, and the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai. It is also currently 12th tallest freestanding structure in the world. Milad tower is part of The Tehran International Trade and Convention Center. The project includes the Milad telecommunication tower offering restaurants at the top with spectacular views of Tehran, a five-star hotel, a convention center, a world trade center, and an IT park (to be completed by March 2007). The complex seeks to respond to the needs of business in the globalized world of the 21st century by offering facilities combining trade, information, communication, convention and accommodation all in one place. The complex features a parking area of 27,000 square meters, a large computer and telecommunication unit, a cultural and scientific unit, a commercial transaction center, a temporary showroom for exhibiting products, a specialized library, an exhibition hall and an administrative unit. Milad Tower has an octagonal base, symbolizing traditional Persian architecture.

Pakistani authorities have decided to block access to Facebook and YouTube following the announcement of an online competition to draw pictures of the Prophet Mohammed. The country's telecommunication authority asked internet service providers to indefinitely block the popular social networking websites, saying they contained "blasphemous" material. **READ DETAILS** The Iranian Intelligence Ministry has identified and dismantled an espionage ring affiliated to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). According to Iran's Intelligence Ministry statement, 30 individual suspected of spying for the US were arrested and 42 CIA operatives were identified in connection with the network. The network, which was set up by a considerable number of seasoned CIA operatives in several countries, attempted to trick citizens into spying for them under the guise of issuing visa, helping with permanent residency, and making job and study offers. According to the statement, the CIA operatives had gathered information from "universities and scientific research centers, and in the field of nuclear energy, aerospace, defense and biotechnology industries." The spies had also gathered detailed information about the "oil and gas pipelines, telecommunication and electricity networks, airports and customs, the security of the banking and communication systems," by using "US embassies and consulates in several countries particularly "the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Malaysia." In January Iran's Intelligence Ministry dismantled an Israeli spy ring and arrested the main perpetrators in connection with the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Dr. Massoud Ali-Mohammadi In 2010, Iran arrested seven individuals affiliated with Israeli intelligence services, who were involved in counterrevolutionary activities and supplied the enemy with information on the country's judiciary, military and space agencies.

He said that the ministry's proper planning prevented the spy network to achieve its goals, adding, “The most important outcome of our operation was that the United States did not accomplish its objectives in the Islamic Republic.” The Islamic Republic announced on Saturday that 30 individual have been arrested on charges of sabotage and spying for the US and 42 CIA operatives were identified in connection with the network. The Iranian intelligence minister stated that the spy-ring was directly taking orders from the CIA, saying that it was headed and operated by top field agents working for the US spy agency. Amir Mehdi Kazemi, Press TV,Tehran Another achievement for Iran's aerospace industry; a new satellite project aimed at bringing Iranian scientists a step closer to a more advanced space technology. According to Iran's space organization the Safir-e- Rasad Iran's second satellite carrier is responsible for placing the 15.3 kilogram Rasad satellite into orbit. Just minutes after the launch signals were sent down to earth via space cameras, indicating that the satellite had been placed successfully into its circuit on a two month mission. The project has been the result of cooperations between the aerospace organization and Malek Ashtar University both affiliated to Iran's ministry of defense and Iran's space organization. The Rasad is the country's first imaging satellite. Despite its small dimensions which puts it under the category of micro-satellites the device has all the features of big satellite. It will orbit the earth at an altitude of 260 kilometers 15 times every 24 hours. The satellite is equipped with solar panels and uses solar energy to work. Iran launched its first home made satellite Omid in 2009. The telecommunication satellite put Iran's name in the list as the ninth country to develop satellite launch capability. With Iran's space projects speeding up the sky no longer seems to be the limit for scientists in Iran. Tehran says that it plans to launch the country's first manned mission to space by 2019.

Now to Pakistan, where authorities have extended a curfew in the city of Rawalpindi, two days after clashes left at least nine people dead and nearly 70 others injured. The curfew was clamped in the northern city hours after gunmen opened fire at Shia Muslims who were holding Ashura processions. Right now all the main entry points into Rawalpindi have been blocked by containers as the Shia community prepares to hold funerals for the victims. In the capital Islamabad, telecommunication authorities have suspended mobile phone services. Army troops have also been deployed to Multan in the eastern Punjab province where one person was shot dead. Meanwhile, Pakistani government has ordered the Lahore High Court to launch an independent probe into the violence.
