Lebanon\'s Ambassador to Tehran, Fadi Hajali, says the deadly attack outside the Iranian Embassy are a result of the spillover of the Syrian crisis.

The spillover of the Syrian crisis has claimed more lives in the flashpoint northern Lebanese city of Tripoli. Ten people, including a woman, have been killed in clashes between supporters and opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad over the weekend. At least 70 people have also been wounded. Our Beirut correspondent Ali Rizk sees the latest incidents as part of a larger picture. He says Saudi Arabia is losing its sphere of influence compared to regional players, and is therefore trying to regain its power by resorting to violence by proxy.

Syria\'s war spillover affecting countries thousands of kilometers away: the US Federal Bureau of Investigation is sounding the alarm over radicalized homegrown militants. FBI Director James Comey says he\'s concerned about the militants inside the US who would be radicalized after returning from Syria. He says dozens of Americans have gone to Syria to fight alongside insurgents against the Syrian government. Comey has expressed concern that Syria has turned into a training ground for a new generation of terrorists. The American official has also acknowledged that it would be very hard to track such radicalized homegrown terrorists.

Turkish police have used water cannons and smoke grenades against Kurdish protesters angry at Ankara\'s plans to erect a wall near the border with Syria. The clashes took place in the south-eastern Kurdish town of Jizre. Kurdish protesters say the wall divides them from family members on the Syrian side of the border. Turkey began the construction of the wall last month in Nusaybin, a border district north of the Syrian town of Qamishli. Ankara says it\'s concerned with the spillover of violence from northern Syria. However, the Turkish government is a staunch supporter of insurgents in Syria providing them with arms, training and shelter.

Twin explosions near the Iranian embassy in Lebanon\\\'s capital Beirut has claimed over a dozen lives, killing Iran\\\'s cultural attaché to Lebanon. This is the first occurrence of an embassy being targeted by terrorists, in what is believed to be a spillover from the war in neighboring Syria. The Iraqi military has destroyed the camps of al-Qaeda-linked militants in Anbar province. The assault comes after several senior officers and soldiers were killed during an operation against militants in the western province.
