This year\'s Thanksgiving travel may not be easy for many Americans, with a winter-storm in the Southwest now heading to the US East Coast. Freezing temperatures have already brought snow, sleet and rain to the Southwest. At least 13 people died in storm-related incidents in Oklahoma, Texas, California, New Mexico and Arizona over the weekend. Hundreds of flights have already been canceled. And forecasters are warning of more flight delays and icy roads as the storm\'s heading eastward, bringing heavy rain over the next two days. Millions of Americans are expected to hit the roads for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday.

Heavy rains caused widespread flooding and landslides in Yajiang County, southwest China on Wednesday. Footage from state broadcaster CCTV showed torrents of water flooding roads, fields and villages in the area. Several people were seen being evacuated to safety by the emergency services, as cars were swept away by the flood waters.

A car bomb rocked the central Mezzeh district of the Syrian capital Damascus killing and injuring a number of civilians. A three-year-old child was also among the people killed there. The explosion, which happened in the heavily populated al-Madraseh neighborhood, also caused material damage to the shops and apartments. Residents of this often-targeted neighborhood say armed men frequently attack them because they support resistance against the Israeli enemy. Elsewhere in the Rukn al-Deen neighborhood in north Damascus several bombers attacked a police station leaving several people dead, many of them the terrorists. Lebanese resistant movement, Hezbollah says one of its military commanders has been assassinated. Hassan al-Laqqis was assassinated outside his home in al-Hadath neighborhood, southwest of the Lebanese capital overnight. Hezbollah has not released more details about the assassination, but Lebanese security officials say Laqqis was shot inside his car. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Hezbollah says Laqqis had survived previous attempts on his life. The group accuses Israel of carrying out the assassination. The Israeli foreign ministry has rejected the accusation. Laqqis\' funeral will be held later Wednesday.

In Beijing, the Chinese government has called for a renewed effort to reach a long-term solution to the Iranian nuclear issue. With agreement in Vienna a real possibility, Chinese policymakers are busy thinking about what that might mean. Western politicians say the economic damage inflicted by the sanctions they have imposed has forced Iran to the negotiating table. Many Chinese analysts, however, say the main impetus towards a deal could now be coming from America. The US, Chinese experts say, needs better relations with Iran to wind down its commitments in southwest Asia.

These are helpless families of hundreds of missing Pakistani nationals. They have traveled all the way from southwestern city of Quetta. Each day they cover at least 25-kilometer long distance. So far they have covered over 2000 kilometer long distance by foot from October last year onwards. Their final destination is capital city Islamabad ---just few hours walk from this main road. This is the longest ever protest undertaken in the world through an unprecedented journey on foot. But it is not meant to register name in Guinness Book of the World Record.
