Massive demonstrations against Saudis‬ in Sanaa‬ Yemen‬ on 1st April - Arabic

Iran\'s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the assassination of one of its diplomats in Yemen as an inhuman and terrorist act. The ministry has said in a statement that the murder of Abol-Qassem Assadi further revealed the violent and extremist nature of Takfiri militants. Iran has summoned the Yemeni chargé d\'affaires to protest the killing. It has promised to pursue the case and bring the perpetrators to justice. Assadi who was shot by gunmen in Sana\'a died of his wounds on Saturday. Six members of a terrorist group first tried to kidnap Iran\'s commercial attaché but opened fire on him, when they faced resistance.

Senior military figures, diplomats and officials in Yemen are abandoning their president of the last 32 years. Ali Abdullah Saleh's government has been beseiged for weeks by protests in the capital Sanaa. On Friday, more than 50 were killed in a crackdown on the streets. By Sunday, president Saleh had sacked all of his ministers. And in the capital Sanaa, tanks rolled onto the streets, guarding the presidential Palace. Thousands of people are protesting at the city's university, calling for a revolution. Al Jazeera's Alan Fisher has the latest.

Protestors are putting pressure on governments across the Arab world - demanding changes in leadership and policies. In Yemen, tens of thousands of people marched in the capital, Sanaa. Opposition groups are calling for the president to stand down, after more than three decades in power.

Renewed violence has broken out in both capital Sanaa and the city of Taiz, with supporters of embattled president Ali Abdullah Saleh and his opponents blaming each other for at least three deaths and hundreds of injuries. UN officials have urged government forces not to attack protesters, while president Saleh has called for negotiations with his opponents. Al Jazeera's Tarek Bazley has more on the deepening divisions in Yemen.

The Yemeni National Dialogue Conference has stopped working, following the unprecedented killing of two southern Yemeni youth, Khalid Mohammed and Hassan Ja\'far during a wedding ceremony on Thursday. The National Dialogue Conference, NDC, has asked the killer\'s father --- who\'s also an NDC member --- to hand over his son to authorities. Members of the Conference have demanded that the person responsible for the killings be brought to justice. Families of the victims have also demanded justice for the killer who\'s now on the run. The military coup against Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi has sparked a wave of anger in Yemen. Thousands of Morsi-supporters have rallied in the streets of the Yemeni capital Sana\'a to show their support to the ousted president of Egypt. Protesters condemned Morsi\'s ouster from power and called for his immediate reinstatement. Yemeni female protesters also joined the pro-Morsi demonstration. An Iranian diplomat, shot by gunmen in the Yemeni capital Sana\'a, has died of his wounds. Members of a terrorist group first tried to kidnap Iran\'s commercial attaché but when they faced resistance, they opened fire on him. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian says the diplomat died in hospital. The foreign ministry has strongly condemned the terrorist attack. According to Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, Yemeni authorities are investigating the incident.
