Hajj involves two parallel journeys, namely the journey of body and the journey of soul. Pilgrims of the House of God purify their hearts from what keeps them away from God. The rituals start in the Great Mosque by circling seven times round the Kaaba in an anti-clockwise direction, which is known as Tawaf, followed by two rakat of prayers. Pilgrims often experience a very moving moment when they first set their eyes on Kabba. They walk and run seven times along a passageway in the Great Mosque between Safa and Marwah mounts, commemorating a search for water by Hajar, wife of the Prophet Abraham. Rituals also involve travelling to the valley of Arafat and standing in the open praising God, supplicating and meditating. This is followed by spending the night in Muzdalifa. In the morning, pilgrims head towards Mina and start the first in a series of throwing stones at pillars symbolizing the devil. The pillars stand at three points where Satan is believed to have tried to tempt the Prophet Abraham. Pilgrims also sacrifice an animal to commemorate the incident when the Prophet Abraham was about to sacrifice his son for the sake of God and God accepted a sheep instead. Pilgrims then shave their heads or cut some parts of it. They should return to the Great Mosque at Mecca for further rituals either before or after they complete their stay and stoning the devils in Mina. At the end of it all, pilgrims hope that God accepts their Hajj. Hajj rituals are performed at different locations but the kaaba stands out. It is the holiest place on earth. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar in which Muslims fast and abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to sunset. Fasting in this month is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The month of Ramadan reaches its peak when Muslims observe the grand nights of Glory. These nights are believed to be better than thousand nights as Muslims believe that the holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad on these nights. Therefore people stay awake overnight praying and reciting the holy Qoran. The Philosophy of fasting lies in the evolution of body and soul, because it has been said that: healthy mind is in the healthy body. The 13th Juz consists of Surah Yusuf (last 58 verses), Surat al-Ra’ad (43 verses, the Thunder), and Surah Ibrahim (52 verses). All are Meccan and contain themes of establishing the basic tenants of Islam. In the Qur\'an, God uses stories, parables, prose, imagery, rhetorical questions, similitude and allegories to help us separate the truth from falsehood. In this juz, two interesting parables appear. In a delicate way, He uses examples from nature, like the one of the froth/scum on water or the process of purifying gold as is mentioned in Surat al Ra’ad. In Surah Ibrahim, words and beliefs are likened to trees. Both of these mention parables that explain the nature of Truth and falsehood. While falsehood is temporary, Truth is permanent and stable. These parables appeal to our intellect and understanding, so that we may reflect, accept the truth to purify ourselves, and ultimately draw closer to God.

Allah ,The Most High , appointed twelve distinguished personalities , one after the other as the rightful successors of the Holy Prophet of Allah(S.A.). They are the descendants of both the Prophet and Ali Ibn Abi Talib. Allah says:” “ “O ye who believe! Obey Allah , and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you (Imams = divinely ordained leaders). If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger , If ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: that is best , and most suitable for final determination.” يا أيها الذين أمنوا أطيعوا الله و أطيعوا الرسول و أولي الأمر منكم فان تنازعتم في شيء فردوه إلى الله والرسول إن كنتم تؤمنون بالله واليوم الأخر ذلك خير و احسن تأويلا (النساء - - 59) The Imams are the divinely ordained leaders of the world who succeed to the office by virtue of their being designated on God’s instructions. Commenting on the word “ أولى الأمر “ in the verse, the Prophet (S.A.) told Jaber Ibn Abdellah :” O Jaber they are my successors and the leaders of the Muslim Community after me. The first one is Ali Ibn Abi Talib , thereafter Al-Hassan , then Al-Hussein , next Ali Ibn Hussein , next Muhammad Ibn Ali - introduced in The Bible as Baqer, O Jaber you will meet him , please give him my salaam (best regards) - next Sadeq Ja’far Ibn Muhammad , then Musa Ibn Ja’far , next Ali Ibn Musa , next Muhammad Ibn Ali , next Ali Ibn Muhammad , next Al-Hassan Ibn Ali , then whose name and title will be mines. He will be the Proof of Allah in the earth and the remaining Evidence among His servants , the son of Al-Hassan Ibn Ali… “ ( إثبات الهداة ج 3 ص 123 ينابيع المودة ص 494 غاية المرام -ج 10 ص 267) They possess some attributes such as infallibility and divinely endowed knowledge and moral excellence. Allah says:” Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye Members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless.” إنما يريد الله ليذهب عنهم الرجس أهل البيت ويطهركم تطهيرا (الأحزاب - 33) Their presence in the world is crucial for its continued existence. “If the earth was only a moment empty of Hojjat (Imam), it would swallow its residents.” لوخلت الأرض طرفة عين من حجة لساخت بأهلها ( بحارالانوار ج23 ص 29) The Mahdi (المهدي) (A.J.)is the last Imam. He will appear to inaugurate a long period in which the world will be filled with justice and righteousness. The Prophet of Allah (S.A.) says: المهدي الذي يملاها قسطا و عدلا كما ملئت جورا و ظلما (فرائد السمطين ( ج2 ص 312) Imam Al-Sadeq Ja’far Ibn Muhammad (A.S.) says:” إذا قام القائم عليه السلام حكم بالعدل و ارتفع في أيامه الجور و أمنت السبل و أخرجت الأرض بركاتها و رد كل حق إلى أهله و لم يبق أهل دين حتى يظهروا الإسلام و يعترفوا بالإيمان (كشف الغمة - ج3 ص 255)

What can help us to purify ourselves and to take us out of the darkness of falsehood? What were the divinely appointed Imams (A) faced with that was in utter opposition to their divine mission? And what was one of the tools that the Imams (A) used and taught the people that would help them in their opposition to the Arrogant Powers of their time? What do the Duas of the months of Rajab and Shaban do for a person, especially as regards to the holy month of Ramadhan? What is a beautiful reality of the holy month of Ramadhan? Finally, why is it said that \"The Duas of The Imams (A) Will Save You\"? The esteemed and elegant Imam Ruhollah Khomeini (R) speaks about how \"The Duas of The Imams (A) Will Save You\".
