This year's al-Quds march came amid the deadly bombardment of Gaza by Israel, prompting thousands to march through central London to express their solidarity with the Palestinians. Muslims and non- Muslims, Sunnis and Shias, snd indeed many more, United in condemning Israel for occupying Palestinian land and for killing Palestinian people. Thousands of demonstrators have marched through central London to call for justice for the Palestinian people. This year in particular those Arab regimes who collaborate with the Zionists have been roundly condemned. Eventually the marchers congregated in Trafalgar Square in the heart of London, where speakers told the crowd that the Arab spring had given new hope to those seeking a free Palestine. They said pro-Israeli dictators in Arab countries, such as Husni Mubarak of Egypt, had been toppled and would be replaced by anti-Israeli leaders in tune with the wishes of their people. As in previous years the al-Quds marchers were harassed by small groups of right-wing activists. Members of the English Defence League, who're accused of being racist and Islamophobic, Zionists and extreme secular Iranians. They all accused the marchers of supporting so-called Islamist terrorism, but their numbers were tiny and the police penned them in. The Iranian leader arrived in Venezuela's capital from stops in Brazil, where he attended the United Nations Rio+20 conference in Rio de Janeiro, and Bolivia.Chavez and Ahmadinejad vowed to keep building closer ties. The Venezuelan president has expressed solidarity with Iran on its nuclear energy program which Iran insists it's for peaceful purposes. Caracas and Tehran have signed an estimated five billion dollars worth of trade deals and accords since 2001 including construction projects, car factories and most recently an agreement for Caracas to manufacture unmanned aerial aircrafts better known as drones.The United States has looked at these accords with disapproval and last year put sanctions on Venezuela's state oil company for making deals with Iran's energy sector.Chavez criticized the sanctions against Iran and pledged to continue being Tehran's key ally in Latin America.This is President Ahmadinejad second visit to Venezuela this year. According to Hugo Chavez there have been more than 300 bilateral accords signed by both countries.

Everyone knows what Syria has offered to resistance movements, especially the Palestinian resistance. Iran\'s reformist presidential candidate Mohammad-Reza Aref has stressed the need for facilitating both domestic and foreign investment in the country, vowing to slash unemployment. In his televised speech on Wednesday night, Aref said, if elected, his administration would give assurances to Iranian investors and redirect people\'s money away from brokers and gold and foreign currency exchange markets to the country\'s industries. He also pledged measures to encourage foreign investment. \"Unfortunately the rate of foreign investment growth in Iran is below the international average and we are having an unfavorable situation,\" he said. Aref criticized the \"unacceptable\" rate of unemployment, especially among the country\'s university graduates, and promised to create over one million jobs annually. He said he would try to achieve the figure by boosting tourism, which he said would provide an annual 200,000 job opportunities, besides expanding the information and communications technology industry as well as the country\'s lucrative energy sector. \"We are planning to keep the added-value of energy products at home. We should try not to sell crude oil or natural gas,\" he stated. Aref also highlighted Iran\'s unique geopolitical situation and thus the opportunity for the country to become a regional hub in various fields, such as commerce, communications and goods transit. This will improve the country\'s economy and help the country\'s national security, the presidential candidate pointed out. Aref is vying against Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Secretary of Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei, President of the Center for Strategic Research of the Expediency Council Hassan Rohani, lawmaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, former Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati, and former Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Gharazi. The main supporters of militants in Syria have backed peace talks as a means of ending the violence in the country. But at a meeting of the so-called \"Friends of Syria\" in London, foreign ministers and representatives from various anti-Damascus groups pledged support for the opposition and insisted that President Bashar al-Assad must step down. The demonstrators marched in the capital Manama as well as the town of Adliyah and Muqabah. Regime forces used tear gas against protesters in Moqabeh. Protesters expressed solidarity with al-Wefaq leader Sheikh Ali Salman and pledged to continue their protests. Al-Wefaq has said the summoning is part of the regime\'s blackmail and revenge campaign against the peaceful opposition. Manama is under fire for a heavy-handed crackdown on dissent.

As dialog continues between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, a group of US senators is threatening to push for more anti-Iran sanctions. Fourteen Democratic and Republican lawmakers have pledged to work together on legislation aimed at imposing new sanctions on Iran over the coming weeks. The bipartisan group of lawmakers includes Democrats Robert Menendez and Republican Bob Corker. The lawmakers say they want to prevent Iran from acquiring the capability to develop a nuclear weapon. The US has passed several rounds of illegal sanctions against the country, hitting the Iranian public hard. Tehran says its nuclear energy program is for power generation and producing medical radio isotopes.

The military wing of Syria\'s foreign-backed opposition, known as the Free Syrian Army says it will not take part in the upcoming conference in Geneva which is aimed at ending the conflict in Syria. Mokdad told Press TV that the international community must give guarantees that President Bashar al-Assad will step down. He says the opposition, Syrian National Council will hold a vote to decide whether to take part in the conference or not. A few days ago, the leader of the FSA pledged to continue fighting despite the planned peace conference . The UN, US and Russia have been trying for months to persuade the foreign-backed opposition to attend the peace talks with the government in January. Damascus has said the Syrian people must decide on the future of the country and their government.

Ira Helfand, the co-president of the group International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, says there are more than 17 000 nuclear warheads which have been ignored since the Cold War ended in 19 91. He says modern nuclear weapons are far more powerful than the US bombs used against Japan in 19 45. Nine countries are believed to possess nuclear weapons with Russia and the US holding the vast majority of them. Israel is the Middle East\'s sole possessor of nuclear weapons. The US pledged in 2009 to work toward the abolition of its nuclear weapons but said it would keep them so long as others keep theirs.

Fresh political violence in Bangladesh. Supporters and opponents of the government have clashed in the capital Dhaka. No casualties have been reported yet. The violence erupted on Sunday after police barred opposition leader Khaleda Zia from leaving her home to lead an anti-government rally. She was supposed to address the rally aimed at pressuring the government to scrap the January 5 elections and hand over power to a caretaker government to oversee the vote. At least one opposition activist was killed in clashes with security forces yesterday. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has pledged to go ahead with the elections despite the opposition boycott, to avoid a constitutional crisis.

Meanwhile, the army-installed government pledged to confront the Muslim Brotherhood with full force after the group called for a million-man march on Wednesday.

The Iraqi prime minister is calling for a strong International position against the countries supporting al-Qaeda-linked terrorists. He has also urged the world to drain the terrorist\'s financial resources. Maliki was referring to a fresh wave of violence which left at least 75 civilians and security forces dead across the country on Wednesday. The attacks are believed to be related to the Iraqi army\'s operation in the western Anbar province. The operation against the al-Qaeda-affiliated group the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant-- or ISIL-- has now entered the third consecutive week. Iraqi forces have surrounded the city of Fallujah but are waiting first for local Sunni tribes to expel the militants. Maliki has also pledged to punish anyone who cooperates with the terrorists.

In Bahrain, pro-democracy protesters take to the streets in the capital Manama calling for a political solution to the crisis-hit country. Protesters took part in a huge rally dubbed, NO TO DICTATORSHIP, YES TO DEMOCRACY. Their demand is Bahrain be governed based on the will and rights of the people. The protesters say their rights cited in the Constitution have been violated by the regime. The demonstrators have pledged to continue their protests until their constitutional rights are restored and justice prevails. Bahrain has been hit with almost daily pro-democracy rallies since February 2011. The regime has responded with a heavy-handed crackdown.

At least seven militants have been killed in a stand-off with Russian Special Forces in the North Caucasus republic of Dagestan. Russia\'s anti-terrorist committee has said that five officers were also injured during the operation. The late-night clashes took place after a bomb went off outside a restaurant in the city of Makhach-kala. At least 16 people were injured in that blast. Two days ago three soldiers and four gunmen were killed in another attack. Security has been tight in Russia\'s North Caucasus after two blasts killed 34 people in Volgograd last month. The blasts were carried out by separatist militants as a warning ahead of the 20-14 Sochi Winter Olympics. Russian President Vladimir Putin has pledged to fight the militants.
