Dramatic new pictures have emerged of the moment a Russian passenger plane was forced to make an emergency landing on water in Eastern Siberia. The Antonov-24, which was carrying 36 people, can clearly be seen with one of its engines on fire. The pilot had reported difficulties and decided to attempt the landing on the River Ob on Monday. While the plane stayed afloat allowing the majority of the passengers to escape, seven people died. Two of the survivors remain in a serious condition in hospital.

A passenger plane with 127 people on board crashed in Pakistan. The plane was a Boeing 737 and belonged to Bhoja Airline. The aircraft crashed to the north of Islamabad. The plane is said to have lost contact with the control tower minutes before landing. According to reports, 118 people killed in the crash. Huge rescue operation has been launched, but it's being hampered by the poor weather conditions.

An Iranian passenger plane has crashed in northwest of Iran near the city of Qazvin with all 168 passengers on board confirmed dead.

Plane went down near Jannat abad village near Qazvin on Wednesday after it took off from the Iranian capital Tehran to fly to Yerevan in Armenia.

A passenger aircraft has crashed on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, killing all 152 people on board. Reports suggest air traffic controllers had told the pilot to divert due to the poor weather, but lost contact with the plane shortly after. Al Jazeera's Tarek Bazely reports.

The Boeing 7-47 aircraft was reportedly carrying just four crew members, all of whom lost their lives when it went down. The plane crashed into residential buildings in a village 25 kilometers from Bishkek during landing approach. Iran's security officers grounded the plane carrying the ringleader of Jundullah terrorist group Abdolmalek Rigi in one of Iran's southern ports, informed sources say. Jundullah, which has operated in Iran's Sistan-Baluchistan and Pakistan's Baluchistan provinces, has carried out a number of attacks against high profile Iranian targets, especially the government and security officials. Jundallah is responsible for several terrorist attacks inside Iran. In October, the group claimed responsibility for a bombing that left over 40 people dead in Iran's southeast.
