'Shourd released over health condition' Iran's decision to release American national Sarah Shourd was based on humanitarian grounds, Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi has told Press TV. Sarah Emily Shourd was released on Tuesday on a bail of $500,000, more than 14 months after she was arrested with two other Americans for illegally entering Iran. "Based on the reports by her lawyer, our investigators and evidence provided by the government... we decided to take the detainee's health situation into consideration and grant her bail," Dolatabadi told Press TV on Tuesday. "Her representatives decided to bail her out... the judge has issued a release order and Ms. Shourd can leave Iran whenever she pleases," he added. Shourd, 31, Shane Michael Bauer and Joshua Felix Fattal, both 27, were arrested in July 2009 after illegally crossing the border from the mountains of Iraq's Kurdistan region. The three Americans were charged with espionage after the Tehran prosecutor found "compelling evidence" that the trio had been cooperating with US intelligence agencies. Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised Thursday the unique and undeniable role of Basij (Volunteer Forces). Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in an address to a large gathering of 110,000 members of Basij called 'Devotees of Velayat (Leadership)' who had come to visit the Supreme Leader. Ayatollah Khamenei said that Basij has presently become a 'clear, great and shining truth' of the Islamic society of Iran 'with no similar version.' The Ayatollah added that Iran's Basiji forces were unique compared to other large forces in other countries as their large numbers could never bring together their hearts, while what has brought together Iran's Basiji forces, is the solidarity of their hearts. 'Basij is a gathering of hearts, a mobilization of faiths, souls and emotions,' said the Supreme Leader, stressing what was useful to go through the dark days 'is not a strong body but a strong heart.' 'You can smash mountains and go through difficult paths with strong hearts and faiths,' said the Supreme Leader.

About fifty days before the birth of the Holy Prophet, Abraha, the Abyssinia\'s viceroy of Yemen, Christian by religion, proceeded against Makka, as the head of a large army, with the object of destroying the Kaabah, because he wanted that there should be no place or structure more glorious than the church he was building at Sana. He had with him elephants. Therefore he and his army is known as ashab al fil, those who brought elephants. At the outskirts of Makka he captured a large number of camels belonging to the chief of Makka, Abd al Muttalib, the grandfather of the Holy Prophet. After receiving the information that Abraha was coming to destroy the holy Ka-bah, Abd al Muttalib went to see him and said: \"I have come to collect my camels. The Ka-bah belongs to God. He will surely protect it from your evil design.\" Abraha gave the captured camels to Abd al Muttalib He returned to the city and asked the people to retire to the neighbouring hills, leaving the Lord of Ka-bah to protect it. When Abraha entered Makka, suddenly a large flock of birds, like swallows, came flying from the sea-coast and pelted the invading army with pebbles of baked clay. They all died. They were like a dead and useless field from which all the produce is eaten up and only straw with stubble is left. Abraha escaped and went directly to the king in Abyssinia. All the way a bird with a stone in her beak followed him. When the king asked Abraha as to what kind of birds they were, Abraha looked to the sky and the bird at once dropped stone in her beak and killed him on the spot.The lesson to be drawn is twofold. The pagans of Makka were forewarned that as the Holy Prophet was superior to the Kaabah, ALLAH, who protects whatever is HIS own, shall protect him from all their evil schemes. It is also a warning to men in all ages that \"if a man intoxicated with power comes out to defeat ALLAH\'s holy plan, he cannot prevail against ALLAH (swt), but his plan will fail and destroy him as well.“ It is narrated from Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (as) that whoever recites this surah in his faraa’idh prayers, the mountains will bear witness on the Day of Judgement that he prayed and he will be taken to Jannah on the command of ALLAH (swt). The person who recites this surah is kept safe from his enemies and has his difficulties and problems solved quickly. Recitation of this surah is also helpful in remaining safe from evil tyrant rulers.

Recitation of this surah in prayers also increases in one’s sustenance. Water in which this surah has been dissolved is useful in keeping away unwanted pests (eg. Insects and rodents).

Pingu\'s friends go down at great speed, but Pingu has trouble; his sled doesn\'t seem to slide and he can only go slowly. It then turns out that the skis on the bottom of Pingu\'s sled are rusted, and his friends give him a greased rag to polish them with. After Pingu\'s friends come down a second time, he shows them how clean the skis are, and does a test, which turns out successful. They try a third time, but Pingu over-polished the skis, and he goes zooming down too fast to control. His sled breaks, and he crashes into a snowman, getting stuck inside it. Pingu\'s friends find him, move the snowman inside, and then put it near the furnace so it melts to free Pingu. When he thaws completely, Pingo offers him the greased rag again. Pingu rejects angrily. Then they all have a good laugh about it.

Torrential rains, floods and landslides have left more than two hundred people dead or missing in western China. More than 100,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in Sichuan. Thousands of homes have been destroyed and transportation brought to a virtual standstill in hard-hit areas. The Ministry of Civil Affairs says more than two million people have been affected by flooding this week. Also, casualties have been recorded in the northern provinces of Shaanxi and Ningxia, and even in the central provinces of Henan and Hubei.

Australian officials are warning that wildfires in New South Wales could merge to create a mega-fire. They say 58 blazes are still alight in the state, with over a dozen reportedly out of control. A thick white smoke haze is now threatening Sydney. People have been warned to stay indoors and avoid exercising. A state of emergency has been declared in New South Wales since yesterday. Temperatures are expected to rise which will make firefighting more difficult. Hot and dry winds are also expected to intensify in the coming days. The bushfires that started on Thursday have caused massive damage in the Blue Mountains area. More than 200 homes have been destroyed and thousands of people forced out of their their homes. Firefighters say this is the most serious wildfire emergency in 40 years.
