The Gulf nation of Bahrain is intensifying its crackdown on pro-democracy protesters. On Saturday, masked police offers broke into the home of Abdulhadi Alkhawaja, a prominent Bahraini human rights activist. He was beaten and detained. We speak to his daughter, Zainab Alkhawaja, who witnessed the attack and is now on a hunger strike. Her husband and brother-in-law were also beaten and arrested in the pre-dawn raid. We also speak to Nabeel Rajab, the president of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights. He is facing a possible military trial for publishing the photograph of Ali Sager, a protester who died while in Bahraini custody. Disabled people in Iraq\'s Kurdistan Region have decided to take legal action against regional Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and his ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party. This comes after a group of protesting disabled people were forcibly removed by armed masked men who are believed to be from security forces belonging to the ruling Barzani family.

More infighting breaks out between militants in Syria as the national army pushes ahead with operations across the country. The opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says a militant group calling itself the Islamic Front seized a crossing on the Turkish border from other insurgents. The capture of the Bab al-Hawa crossing came a few days after the Islamic Front took control of some arms depots of the Free Syrian Army. The Islamic Front does not recognize the F-S-A, which is one of the main armed opposition groups fighting the government. Meanwhile, masked gunmen have abducted a prominent Syrian human rights lawyer in Douma, a suburb of Damascus. Razan Zaytouni had accused al-Qaeda-linked insurgents of kidnapping activists and lawyers.

Iran\\\'s ambassador to Baghdad says Iraqi security forces have arrested all those behind last week\\\'s deadly attack on Iranian gas technicians. Hassan Danayeefar added that the 9 terrorists have all confessed to their crime. Last week, masked gunmen attacked workers at a gas pipeline project stretching from Iran into Iraq, killing 16 Iranian nationals. Violence in Iraq has hit a five-year high since the beginning of this year. The United Nations estimates that at least eight-thousand people have been killed in 2013.
