Commemorating the passing anniversary of late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini;
The 24th passing anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was an occasion for people to recall his accomplishments especially those of forming an Islamic state and working towards justice for mankind.
Addressing a large crowd of mourners, leader of Iran\\\\\\\'s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a keynote speech said the Iranian nation would give a crushing response to the enemies with a high turnout in the upcoming presidential election.
He described the election as a manifestation of the will of the nation. The leader noted that people\\\\\\\'s participation in the election indicates their confidence in the Islamic establishment. According to Ayatollah Khamenei, the enemies are seeking to portray the election as a threat to the Islamic establishment whereas the vote is in fact a great opportunity.
Imam Khomeini changed the lives of Iranians and inspired people from other countries by guiding one of the greatest revolutionary movements of modern history to victory. His years of struggle against the tyranny of the US-backed Shah regime and capitalism served as a model for Muslim nations worldwide. Despite the passage of 24 years after his passing away, his thoughts and teachings still attract more people every day.
Ayatollah Khomeini passed away in June 1989, eleven days after he was taken to hospital for an operation to stop internal bleeding in May. He passed away but his legacy continues to live on forever.

A national rally held across Iran for the past 34 years; every year on November 4th Iranians take to the streets across the country to mark a historic which changed the direction of Iran-US relations. Holding banners and placards demonstrators chant \"down with USA\" on the anniversary of the US embassy take over in Tehran by university students back in 1979.
The latest rally took place as both Iran and the US recently took steps towards easing diplomatic tensions after three decades. Despite calling for a softer tone in this year\'s demonstration by some political groups this year\'s event appeared much bigger than previous years.

It was an ill-fated day 50 years ago when an assassin shot former President John F. Kennedy. The president was traveling in a motorcade with his wife Caroline in Dallas, Texas in 1963. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Lee Harvey Oswald was accused of the crime and he was later shot and killed by Jack Ruby. Oswald never stood trial. Since that time, speculation has swirled around why Kennedy was targeted. It still haunts journalists who reported from the tragedy.
Kennedy was the 35th US president. He was assassinated almost three years into his term. For many, he\'s left behind an unfulfilled promise.
But Kennedy did leave behind a legacy of tradition that is being remembered for generations.
This week, President Obama remembered his predecessors memory at Arlington National cemetery. He laid a wreath at the grave site with former President Bill Clinton and relatives of the slain president.
Mr. Obama was accompanied by Ethel Kennedy, the wife of Robert Kennedy. Earlier in the day, the current president carried on the tradition of presenting a medal of freedom. A tradition started by Kennedy that he never lived to see.
President Kennedy\'s legacy lives on despite the tragedy that cut his life at 46 years old. There are many who have theorized that his assassination was part of a conspiracy plot. But the real truth surrounding the former president\'s death may never really be known.

Dey 9th in the Iranian calendar or December 30th marks a very special day in the history of Iran\\\'s Islamic Revolution. On that day in 2009, an epic was created by the mass turnout of the nation to show their support for the Islamic establishment following post-election unrest in the country in that year.
On December 30, 2009, Iranians took to the streets in the millions to condemn what was called the \\\"seditious movement\\\" and to show anger for the unrest that took place after the June\\\'s presidential election especially on Ashura-- a day Shia Muslims mark the martyrdom anniversary of Prophet Muhammad\\\'s grandson, Imam Hussein (PBUH). After the presidential election, supporters of two of the defeated candidates made allegations of vote fraud. But such allegations were dismissed by the country\\\'s election officials. The guardian council -which based on Iran\\\'s constitution, supervises election- concluded there were no irregularities, dismissing election complaints. But the street protests -supported by foreign powers- continued on different occasions for more than six months. Then on December 30th, the nation poured to the streets to show support for the establishment. That day, the Iranians once more proved that if the Islamic establishment is threatened by the western-backed soft war, they are ready to sacrifice. They sent the message of unity to the entire world. The 2009 post-election unrest and the following incidents proved that the nation has enough insight and they firmly stand against foreign threats.

The Sun has undergone a \\\"complete field reversal,\\\" with its north and south poles changing places as it marks the midpoint of Solar Cycle 24.
Experts say that the reversal of the Sun\\\'s magnetic field is, literally, a big event and it is a regular part of the solar cycle. While it may seem like the event could have catastrophic repercussions for the galaxy, its effects are actually more subtle, mostly interfering with space exploration. Some researchers say cosmic rays are a danger to astronauts and space probes and might affect the cloudiness and climate of Earth. NASA has released a visualization of how the switch occurs. Beginning in 1997 and ending in 2013, it shows the green positive polarity switching with the purple negative polarity. Solar Cycle 24 has been viewed as quite unpredictable. First, it came late by about a year, with extremely low activity recorded throughout 2009. This prompted astronomers to shift a predicted 2012 peak to 2013.
